Conservatory Overview The Musical Theatre Conservatory offers comprehensive training in musical theatre, voice and acting technique to talented students with aspirations of careers on stage, in film and television, and in the recording arts. Students in this conservatory are provided a well-balanced musical theatre education, with classes provided in a variety of styles, including acting technique, vocal technique, vocal performance, audition technique, musical theatre history, keyboard, music theory, musicianship, pop vocal, stage movement and combat, and stage make-up. The Musical Theatre Conservatory prepares its students with the skills they need to pursue a higher education in theatre performance or a professional career on stage. Guest Artists/Master Teachers Students are exposed to renowned guest artists, university faculty, and industry leaders, who visit the school’s campus to share their expertise and creativity through residencies, master classes, lectures, performances, presentations, and hands-on training. Performance Opportunities The conservatory offers a number of unique and exciting performance opportunities, where students have the chance to demonstrate the artistic skills and talents they have gained throughout their time with CSArts. Jeff PaulFaculty Advisor, Musical Theatre

Jeff Paul is the Faculty Advisor of the Musical Theatre Conservatory for California School of the Arts (CSArts) and the Director of the Musical Theatre Conservatory at Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). During his tenure, Mr. Paul has assembled a staff of more than 30 arts specialists and produced a full array of programming that reflects the diverse talents and strengths of the school’s students.

Mr. Paul’s professional work has garnered Drama-Logue Awards acting nominations and notable performance awards from local organizations. He has been a long-time company member of CalRep and Saddleback Civic Light Opera. In addition to his commitment to OCSA, Mr. Paul teaches at California State University, Long Beach, Long Beach City College, Santa Ana College, Saddleback College, El Camino College, and Santiago Canyon College. He has co-taught with artists-in-residence Bill Irwin and Rachel Rosenthal for the California State University summer arts program.

Mr. Paul earned a master of fine arts degree in Acting/Directing from California State University, Long Beach. He was awarded recognition as the Outstanding Graduate of the College of the Arts.
