Years of Miracles Años de Milagros
We travel on many journeys during our life. We go from dependent infants to children. Then, we go from adolescence to young adults. The journeys go on throughout our life, until we go on the ultimate journey that leads from this life to the next. But in this journey we often need guidance. But, it is Jesus who guides us spiritually through the Scriptures and traditions of the Church. His Holy Spirit dwells within us at Baptism and is strengthened within us through the gifts at Confirmation. Ultimately, though, the greatest way the Risen Lord is present is in the Eucharist. Here we receive not Jesus in his crucified body, but Jesus as he is now in his glorified body. The Lord himself has given us the Eucharist....”take and eat, this is my body”. His own body and blood given to us every day in the Eucharist is the heart of our own identity as Catholics. When we process to receive the Eucharist, we become a living symbol of the Body of Christ. We should come forth to receive the Eucharist with reverence and respect. When we receive Communion, we receive Jesus’ body and soul and divinity. We receive the Risen Lord who is glorified, seated at the right hand of the Father. He is present with us in his glorified body through the Eucharist. Thus, our daily lives should be an extension of the sacramental presence of Jesus. As husbands and wives give themselves to each other in marriage, similarly, our divine bridegroom comes to unite Himself to us in the most intimate way possible here on earth, giving his very body and blood to us in the Eucharist.
Durante nuestras vidas hacemos muchas jornadas y pasamos muchas etapas. Desde la infancia hasta la
niñez. Desde la adolescencia hasta jóvenes adultos. Las jornadas continúan toda una vida hasta llegar al último camino que nos conduce de esta vida hacia la vida eterna. En cada etapa, necesitamos alguien quien nos guía. Pero es Jesús quien nos guía espiritualmente a través de las escrituras y las tradiciones de
la iglesia. Su Espíritu mora dentro de nosotros en el bautismo y nos fortalece con sus dones en la confirmación. Sin embargo, la manera en que el Señor resucitado se hace mas presente es en la Eucaristía. Aquí recibimos, no a Jesús en cuerpo crucificado, sino, a Jesús en cuerpo glorificado. El mismo Señor nos dio la Eucaristía cuando dijo...”tomar y comer, este es mi cuerpo”. El cuerpo y la sangre que nos ofrece cada día en la Eucaristía es el corazón de nuestra propia identidad como católicos. Por eso, nuestra procesión de comunión deberá moverse con dignidad y respeto. Cuando recibimos la comunión, recibimos a Jesús en cuerpo, alma y divinidad. Estamos recibiendo a Jesús resucitado y glorificado, sentado a la derecha del Padre. Se hace presente con nosotros en su cuerpo glorificado a través de la Eucaristía. Por lo tanto, nuestra vida diaria debe ser una extensión de la presencia sacramental de Jesús. Así como esposos y esposas se dan mutuamente en matrimonio, del mismo modo nuestro novio divino viene a unirse a nosotros de la manera más íntima posible aquí en la tierra, dando su mismo cuerpo y su sangre en la santa eucaristía.

L'évangile d'aujourd'hui ne semble pas appartenir au texte initial de saint Jean, qui se termine avec le vingtième chapitre. C'est un récit de résurrection qui ressemble beaucoup à la pêche miraculeuse, en Saint Luc 5, 1-11, aux appels des disciples, ainsi qu'aux six distributions de pains et de poissons.Sept disciples sont réunis, un chiffre complet, et deux ne sont pas nommés. Comme pour le compagnon de Cléophas sur la route d'Emmaüs, ce sera à nous de les appeler Sophie, Jonathan, Christine ou Mélanie. Dans la barque de Pierre, tant que les disciples travaillent seuls dans les ténèbres de la nuit, leurs efforts restent vains. Mais dès que renaît la lumière, avant l'aube d'un jour nouveau, ils aperçoivent de loin Jésus qui se tient avec puissance sur l'autre riveLe parfait disciple, celui que Jésus aimait, est l'inspiration, l'âme et le coeur de la communauté johannique. Il voit avec les yeux de la foi le Maître qu'on imagine debout, puisqu'il a été relevé et ressuscité par Dieu. Il les a précédés sur l'autre rive, où il leur a préparé un repas de pain et de poisson.“C'est le Seigneur!” annonce saint Jean au chef des apôtres, dont le rôle est de convoquer l'Église, et dont la foi entraîne immédiatement une prise de décision. Avec l'enthousiasme que lui seul sait communiquer à l'ensemble des disciples, qui ont fait la traversée avec lui, il se jette à l'eau. Tous se souviennent du jour où saint Pierre s'est jeté à l'eau dans un geste de confiance spontané. Pour le disciple que Jésus aimait, la foi paraît évidente. Elle l'est moins pour Pierre qui a renié son Maître trois fois après lui avoir déclaré: “Si tous viennent à tomber à cause de toi, moi, je ne tomberai jamais!” (Matthieu 26, 33) Jésus lui donne l'occasion de se reprendre. De la même manière qu'il l'a renié, Pierre lui redit trois fois avec insistance: “Seigneur, tu sais tout: tu sais bien que je t'aime.” Sur ce témoignage, Jésus lui confie ses brebis. Voilà encore un thème central du quatrième évangile: l'amour est le lien essentiel entre Dieu et les croyants. C'est la communion entre l'Église et le ressuscité, comme entre les membres de la nouvelle famille du Christ. Quel est mon lien affectif avec ma communauté chrétienne et avec Celui qui offre le poisson et le pain comme il l'a fait jadis pour des foules, dans le désert?
