Message will be the report of our official DDGER visitation. It took a lot of work and dedication by our officers, committees and membership to get an inspection of our Lodge we can all be proud of. Dear Exalted Ruler Calvin: This letter is the final report of my official visitation to your Lodge. I wish to thank you, your officers and the members of your Lodge for the warm hospitality shown to me, Joe, Gabriella, my Esquire PER Randall Logan of Petaluma, his wife Jackie, my Auditor Sandy Gowan PER of Vacaville Lodge and her Husband Dan Gowan. We are all aware that you and your members worked hard to make the visitation a very pleasant experience. Thank you for all of your efforts and your thoughtful and generous gifts to my family and ENF. ATTENDANCE: The attendance by your Lodge Officers and Committee chairs at the visitation was good. I appreciate that our early meeting times make it difficult for those who work to attend. REPORTS: I received 15 written committee reports and numerous oral reports some of which provided additional detail and others in lieu of a written report. All written reports were informative and thoughtfully prepared. The verbal reports provided interesting background into the work of your committees. The information shared at our meetings provided insight into your Lodge's level of activity, participation in the community and commitment to promoting the programs of our Order. OFFICERS: Your Lodge has PERs, officers & committee chairpersons who are enthusiastic and dedicated to promoting the programs of our Order. I encourage you and your members to expand the base of leadership in your Lodge by developing a mentoring and succession planning program. PROGRAMS AND COMMITTEES: I am happy to report that your Lodge is active in the Grand Lodge and California-Hawaii Elks Association Programs. With your continued efforts in these programs the Lodge will continue to be a true asset to the community. Your commitment to ENF, CHEMPI, Americanism, Scholarship and Veterans programs are notable. Your Lodge is the only Lodge in our district implementing an Antlers Program. Your involvement in these programs demonstrates that your Lodge embraces the very essence of Elkdom and your efforts make a tremendous positive impact in your community. Indeed, you are Elks Elevating America. I was particularly pleased to see that Napa Lodge has real committees - not just an individual who single-handedly is a committee. I applaud your efforts to invite incoming members to your activity committee meeting. I also encourage you to create additional committees that reflect the interest of your members and projects they want to complete in the community, which are consistent with the mission of our Order. PHYSICAL INSPECTION: My Esquire noted your facility is generally in good condition. A few minor recommendations, listed below, would enhance your safety efforts. OBSERVANCE: There was no Ritual of Initiation performed, as it is no longer required by Grand Lodge Statutes. Your Lodge meeting was well run and enjoyable to attend. FINANCIAL OBSERVATIONS: Your recent annual report indicates your Lodge takes steps to monitor its finances. You are encouraged to continue closely monitoring these items in order to prevent any year-end shortfalls. I understand you are just starting your busy season and expect revenue to increase in the coming months. PROTOCOL: You did a very good job in meeting the standards of protocol. Based on my visitation I expect you will be in the running for the district protocol trophy. I once again compliment you, your Officers, committee chairpersons, and your members for their hospitality during my visitation. I am available to assist your Lodge in any way that I may be able to. I wish you continued success and look forward to watching and assisting as your Lodge continues to grow and evolve. This letter is to be read on the floor of the Lodge at the first meeting after its receipt. Palm Trees, Turkey and Santa (Busy Fall and Winter) Activities Report November 2014

DDGER Visit: Was on October 1st. Very nice turnout from our lodge and district lodges. We welcomed our

DDGER Robyn Sembenini and family to a lovely dinner. We held meetings both before and after dinner to help

our lodge keep on track with Elkdom. Thank you to all the staff and committees for their service and table

decorations. Special Thanks to: SIRS-Roving Roosters for the Friday night BBQ on October 3rd. Great turn out

and to Jason for the delicious chickens. I think we had almost 80 folks at this BBQ, Yeah! Event and Crab Feed

Meeting: Was held on 10/6/14. As Activities Chairman I think it is important that we have Event meetings now and

then, primarily to get new thoughts and ideas in the mix and on the calendar. We had approximately 20+ people

attending, there were updates on current events and discussions for a few new ones. We also had members sign on

to chair events, which is always helpful. When visiting the Redding lodge last spring, I spoke to a couple of their

members and asked about their events, they gave me a copy of their newsletter. They have something like 1500

members so chairing events is a bit easier for them. They have many events during the year, and there is a

different chairman for each event, this would be my goal for our lodge. Elks Care and Elks Share, we are hopeful

that our members will continue share their gifts and talents for the betterment of #832. A few new events were also

discussed an Oyster Feed, Cioppino Feed, Western Weekend, Giant's Game, Murder Mystery dinner and more.

This was a very successful and productive meeting, the next meeting will be on 12/4/14, please join us. As most of

our members know we lost our dear friend and Crab Feed chairman Mike Stornetta this last year. I was happy to

co-chair with Mike the last two years, but I will not be chairing the Crab Feed this year. The new Crab Feed

chairman is Tish Zuniga. I will be helping with Mike's memorial which will be a part of the crab feed and the

50/50 raffle. Please contact Tish and let her know if you would like to volunteer. Oktoberfest : 10/8/14- Pretzels,

Beer, Sausages, Drunken Chicken were all a hit at Oktoberfest. A little under 70 people attended Oktoberfest, nice

turnout. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and the polka music of Dan Cooper. TEA: The 2014 Holiday TEA was once

again a success. We had 11 tables this year, each and every table was beautiful and decorated differently. This year

we had the Earthquake survivors table......extremely unique and a delight. The ladies all showed up in their PJ's

and Robes (just like they were dresses after the quake) the table was very creative with a chipped cup here and a

bent tea kettle there. Other tables took on a Holiday theme, Halloween, Fall, Christmas a few others were a little

more formal. Many thanks to our hostesses Marie Narlow, Lorraine Anderson, Lindsay Wanagal, Lillian

Hartenstein, Judy Fisher, Vivian McFarland, Sonja Stornetta, Barbara Closs, Dolores DeSylva, Barbara Allan and

two very special friends that drove all the way from the Danville area to host a table and invited their friends Jean

Mello and Ellen Gonzales. More thanks going to our sandwich makers Marie Narlow, Sonja Stornetta, Lorraine

Anderson, Tess Zarte and Vivian McFarland. The sandwiches this year were delicious, Barbara Closs treated us

all to a champagne cake double delicious. The Mad Hatter in all his finery was there giving the TEA ladies a fun

day and Kevin Frazier with his smooth saxophone made for a jazzy afternoon. Janis Mousa did a wonderful job of

selling the 50/50 tickets and we raised $420.00! Thank you all for coming, as most of you know proceeds from the

TEA will be applied to our Children's Christmas party. Flu Clinic: OMG!!! What a crowd we had, I think the

count given was 430+ all came to the Elks for their flu shots. Once again the Napa Health Department was very

organized and ready to administer the shots. Thanks also to the Elk volunteers that assisted with the flu clinic.

Shelia Cox was chairman for this event, thank you Shelia. Burgers and Bocce and Halloween: Updates on these

events in December Newsletter. Food Drive: Will begin on Nov. 1st/Barrels in the lobby.
