Now that elections are over, I can tell you who your new Officers will be for the coming year: Leading Knight Brian Fitzgibbon, Loyal Knight Ruth Lee, Lecturing Knight Richard Snyder, 5 yr Trustee Scott Elliot and Secretary Patti Lydon. The rest of the Officers stay the same as last year. I’m looking forward to working with these new Officers who I’m sure will create new ideas for the Lodge to move forward. ELKETTE’S CORNERBy Ruth Lee, President

The Elketts annual Valentine Dance made $465.00 which will go to help pay off the loan for the roof.

The Elkettes meet on the first and third Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM in the ballroom.

We are still looking for a secretary and a treasure to take minutes at our meetings and the Elkettes cannot continue without a treasure. Fran would like to resign as treasure due to her eye sight. Anyone interested please let us know. If we do not get a treasure the Elkettes will not be able to continue next year.

Elkettes are always open for new members. If you are a man or woman, even an Elk, with an interest in having fun and planning creative special events to raise funds to support the Florida Elks Children’s Charities and our Lodge; you’re welcomed to come and meet us at any monthly meeting. If you are an Elk you can also be an Elkette. You no longer have to be related to an Elk to become an Elkette. For more information about Membership, call Laurie Rodriguez Membership Chair. All Elkettes are encouraged to attend the monthly meetings.

April Birthdays

Elkette of the Month

Our Elkette of the month is my sister Dorothy Pflanz. She is on the calling committee, she sends out Birthday cards and get well cards and she helps set up the room for meetings. She is always available to help set up the room when we have an event. Thanks for all your hard work and support through the years. You have been an asset to the Elkettes.

AprilBirthdays

From the Secretary’s Desk:

DUES…….DUES……DUES…… April is the month to renew our annual

dues. We are a little late getting them out to you but please try to pay them quickly or notify us of any changes by March 31. Leave a message at the lodge or e-mail me at [email protected] The GOOD NEWS is that the dues have not gone up this year. We really value your membership and hope you will continue to enjoy the lodge and your fellow Elks!

We had 11 new members in February and 5 in March. What will April bring? …. Bring your friends to events and show them what a good time they can have at our lodge. Past events such as County and Western night, which is a charitable event for cystic fibrosis, raised a lot of money and attendance was amazing. I saw old members like Frankie Cooper and new members like Deborah Totten, Paul Eckel and Linda Donchin all having a lot of fun! A big THANK YOU to Butch Aubrey and his incredible team that having been do-ing this event for 35 years. St. Patrick’s Day is another successful event where we served corned beef and cabbage and celebrated the festivities.

You can find almost anything to do during the week and weekend at the lodge. Check your calendar. Are you on Wayne Cummins weekly e-mail updates? Ask your bartender and officers as to what is going on as you stop in to visit. There are 23 required lodge committees on which you can participate. The bulletin names are generic for what these committees do so check next month and we will detail the exact tasks. Then bring your talents and think about volunteering for one of them.

April brings taxes, snowbirds starting back north, lodge softball tournaments, and gor-geous weather but the lodge continues it dinners and fun activities. Bring your friends, be a men-tor to new members and keep the lodge moving forward. Have a great month!
