Summer is upon us and the patio furniture has been set out for our enjoyment. It is very pleasant out there in the afternoon and evening, so visit your Lodge for a beverage and/or a meal with friends on the “veranda”.

The House Committee has been working to create new especially themed Friday nights. Check the calendar for the dates and come out and enjoy them. The events are also addressed by way of e-mail and Facebook. If you don’t receive the e-mail “blasts” please get me your e-mail address and I will ensure that you’re added to the list, so you don’t miss any of the fun.

As of this writing, we still have 100 members that are late in paying their dues. Please, if you know any of these folks; ask them to rejoin us for the fun, camaraderie & charitable endeavors. If your dues are not paid, you’re

not entitled to use the Lodge.

Any widows wishing to have an ID card and a key card, please drop me a note (either by mail or in the mail slot in my door) requesting them and accompany the request with a $5.00 payment along with a self-addressed stamped envelope. I will process the card and either mail it to you or leave it behind the bar (stamped envelope not required if this option is selected).

Until next time, enjoy your summer and come by your Lodge for a cool beverage and some fun.

Secretary’s Corner June 2015

Same old tune, just wrapped up in a Different Issue of the “Horn”. As of this writing we still have 149 members who have not paid their 2015/2016 DUES, which were due and payable in advance of April 1, 2012. This is quite a shock to our financial status, as your dues are an important part of our lodge budget, and at this time unpaid dues is taking the sum of $17,731.00 out of our expected (ouch!) income. I will keep the message short and once again request that if you are on our DELINQUENT LIST, Please send you dues in A.S.A.P. so we can bring our list down to ZERO. I will be sending reminder notices to all members on our current delinquent list & should anyone receive a delinquent notice, and our correspondence has crossed in the mails, or if there is a problem with my records, please call me at 410-573- 0201, Ext 12 so we can resolve any problems to everyone’s satisfaction. Once again, thanks for your understanding, as keeping up with some 892 plus members, can at times tax an old mans brain, and in my case there is not a whole lot of room for taxation. Just a friendly reminder that dues, including Grand Lodge & State Assn. Fees total $119.00 for regular Members, and $69.00 for those who have been elected to Life Membership. Sincerely & Fraternally, Earl W. Schellman, PDD/PSP/PGLC, Secretary

Dear Ladies,There are so many occasions to celebrate in June and July: graduations, weddings, Father’s Day, Flag Day, and Independence Day to name a few. Please note that the Horn is published every other month.

We awarded one $1000 scholarship this year. Thanks to Jeanie Lizer and her committee for poring through the applications. The winner will be announced in the next edition of the Horn.

A big Thank You goes out to all who made our June 5th luncheon a success. The ladies enjoyed a wonderful afternoon visiting with friends and shopping. I will report out on our earnings, etc. in the next edition of the Horn.

Our October 2nd luncheon will feature K&J Marketing. Time: 12:00 pm. Cost: $15. It will be a great time to begin your holiday shopping. Most items K&J sells (jewelry, watches, pashminas, etc.) are $6. Mark your calendars. The menu will feature a Lodge favorite: oven roasted pot roast with potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions, warm dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, iced tea, coffee, and water station. Reservation deadline is Sept. 25th. Call or email Marian Knode, 410-266-6897 or [email protected].

Our Holiday luncheon will be held December 11 featuring the South County Showstoppers. Tickets are $15 per person. Time: 12:00 pm. The menu includes fresh carved roasted turkey, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, fresh stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, warm rolls and butter, pecan pie, iced tea, coffee, and water station. Invite your friends, family and husbands to join you for a delightful afternoon. Call Marian Knode for reservations: 410-266-6897 or email [email protected] .
