4 | P a g e
It gives me great pleasure to present the 99h Annual Report for Swimming
Manawatu Incorporated on behalf of the Governance Board.
I would like to thank the members of the Board and Management Teams and
sub-committees for all their hard work over the last 12 months. Swimming
Manawatu is in good financial shape with increasing club swimmer numbers.
This has created some pressure on pool space but we are working with the city
council at ways to address this.
This year Swimming Manawatu has meet all its key performance indicators
(KPIs) as outlined in our vision, mission and statement of Intent.
As part of formalising the annual budget we have developed a new financial
strategy. After ensuring that we have meet our financial commitments, any
residual money will be made available as a new initiative to refund, by
application, a proportion of the expenses incurred by swimmers selected for
national teams. Please contact the Board if you wish to apply.

This season, there have been Manawatu swimmers racing at local, regional,
national and international swimming events and I would like to thank all the
swimmers, coaches, volunteers and families for all your hard work and passion
that makes this possible. We welcome anyone who would like to be part of the
2017-2018 season.
Congratulations to Mya Rasmussen for her selection to the New Zealand Youth
Commonwealth Team and the New Zealand 2017 Australian Age Groups
Championship team, also to Australian based Manawatu swimmer Laticia-Leigh
Transom for her selection to the New Zealand Youth Commonwealth Team.
Congratulations also to the following swimmers who have been selected as part
of the New Zealand team attending the Australian State Teams Age Short
Course Championships - Paris Cutler, Ryan Cutler, Xavier Hill and Piper
Humphreys. Parathlete, Christopher Arbuthnott, has enjoyed a successful year.
These swimmers are great ambassadors for our region.

The Ashhurst Aquanauts Incorporated
Annual Report 2016/2017
The Ashhurst Aquanauts 2016-2017 year was punctuated with the highest of
highs and the lowest of lows. From the highs of being the best performed
Manawatu Club at NAGS 2017 with only three swimmers (Paris and Ryan
Cutler and Piper Humphreys), all of which gaining selection to the Swimming
NZ Team to attend Australian State Teams Championships in September, to
the low of Club Coach Jay Roberts resigning and returning to the UK.
The committee performed well in their challenging task to provide the Clubs swimmers with top quality
facilities and coaching. The Club was privileged to be granted access to the Linton Military Camp pool for
evening training as there was zero other pool space available in the region during the winter months. Morning
training was provided by the PNBHS pool. When the LIDO outdoor pool opened the club shifted evening
training to the LIDO and continued with the morning training at PNBHS. Apart from heating issues with the
LIDO the training facilities could not be faulted and played a vital role in the clubs success.
The coaching services were provided by Jay Roberts, a talented coach of outstanding ability. Jay’s year was
turned on its head with the illness and passing of his father. Jay returned to the UK for three weeks in
November to be with his father and unfortunately had to return for another 4 weeks in January on his father’s
passing. Jay continued to provide programmes that the committee supervised and the swimmers diligently
followed. Such disruptions could have seen weaker swimmers and clubs falter but Ashhurst Aquanauts had
shown great resilience in the past and again displayed great resilience and the club spirit strengthened as a
result of this situation. This club strength was evident in the outstanding performances and team unity
displayed at the summer swim meets despite the coaches absences.
The Club was boosted by the selection of Paige, Ryan and Paris Cutler into the Allstars Zonal team. The
Cutler siblings represented their family and club with pride. Paris performed to her usual high standard which
was recognised with being awarded the Allstars junior swimmer of the meet. Paris was almost not selected
and was the final junior girl selected into the Allstars Zonal team which raises the question- was Manawatu’s
poor representation in the team more a reflection on the Selectors than the quality of the Swimmers in the
Manawatu region?
The final endorsement of the successful year was the selection of Paris Cutler and Piper Humphreys to the
Swimming NZ Development Squad. An honour well deserved for both swimmers with Paris being national
champion in all freestyle events for her 14 year old division and Piper the national champion 15 year old in the
400 and 800 freestyle.
I believe Swimming Manawatu has not made the most of its opportunity to exercise its vision ‘to promote
excellence and pride in swimming in the Manawatu’. The above achievements and selections of Ashhurst
Aquanaut swimmers and those of other Manawatu swimmers would be news to a large proportion of those
reading this report, existing stakeholders of swimming in the Manawatu. We have the opportunity to
communicate to the wider sporting youth of Manawatu that swimming can be a competitive sporting option
and not an activity that starts and finishes at learn to swim. Also show the existing competitive swimmers of
the region that opportunities outside of the region are available.
I am reminded of a comment from Charlie Greenem while announcing at Icebreakers May meet when he
reviewed the above selections and those of others in the region and described it as possibly the best ever
year for Swimming Manawatu. A good news story limited by the distorted Freyberg PA and the limited number
at the meet.
These outstanding watershed moments were curbed soon after with Jay’s announcement that he was to
resign and return to the UK. The clubs size and resources made it impossible to appoint a replacement coach
that was of the calibre required to continue Jay’s work in the development of the clubs swimmers. It was with
sadness the committee agreed to help swimmers select and relocate to other Manawatu Clubs.
The Committee is grateful of the support it has received from the Swimming Manawatu executive in particular
Diane Farmer and David Moir. The club has had more than its share of curve balls to deal with over the year
and I am proud of how the committee, the families and the swimmers have retained their focus and worked
through each difficulty.

Dannevirke Amateur Swimming Club
Dannevirke Swimming club is made up of some great swimmers. We have 26 registered club
swimmers and 20 competitive swimmers. We have got swimmers training in Dannevirke,
Palmerston North and Masterton.
This year we have had swimmers representing us at NZ Junior Festival, Div ll and Nags. We
also have swimmers who have qualified for NZ Secondary Schools and New Zealand short
course. We also have a good number of children qualify for Wellington short course. This
year we currently have two para-swimmers on our members list.
The committee has seen changes in personnel, but continues to be a great bunch to work with.
There have been excellent ideas from these members to ensure this club continues to strive
and to keep growing. Without the help of supportive parents we couldn’t make this happen.
However, we currently have a shortage of IOT’s registered to our club and are encouraging
parents to step up and begin their training in this role. All club swimmers are going to be asked
to have one family member as a qualified time keeper, whilst for competitive swimmers, it will
become an expectation that a family member trains as an IOT.
The club held a prize giving afternoon to celebrate achievements during the 2016/17 season.
This was enjoyed by all that could attend. We are currently looking into different ways to hold
Club nights. Earlier this year we held a very successful Club Night in Dannevirke, followed by
fish and chips in the park. We would definitely look at doing this again in the future. Our next
club night event is to be held in conjunction with the CLM swim school at the Lido to encourage
their swimmers to have a go at racing and to cater for our swimmers that are based in
Palmerston North.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved with the club to make this year enjoyable.
Chairperson
Tania Fergus.

DOLPHIN AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB INC
PRESIDENT'S REPORT 2016-2017
I would like to welcome you all to the 2017 Annual General Meeting of the Dolphin Amateur Swimming
Club.
It has been a busy rebuilding year for the Dolphin swimming club, with the club returning to the
refurbished Makino pool, with the Dolphin ASC aiming to continue providing children from the Feilding
and wider community the opportunity to swim as a sport.
The Learn to Swim Programme has continued throughout the year with numbers slightly down on
previous years. The Squad group has continued to grow this year and Connor Nevin was contracted to
the club from December 2016 to June 2017 to assist Major Meta with the coaching of squad swimmers.
The club had 6 swimmers attend the Junior Festival in Wellington, Isabella Meta, Alice Meta, Lucy
McIntyre, Oliva Sia, Willow Darling and Tanika Whale. With the swimmers achieving some great results
and personal best times, with the highlight of the meet being Isabella's Gold medal for SO butterfly.
Isabella also qualified for and swum at the New Zealand Division II swimming competition which was
held in Rotorua. The Squad group had a couple of "fun" trips away- one to Wellington before the Junior
Festival so that they could familiarize themselves with pool facilities and an end of season trip to Splash
Planet in Hastings. A good time was had by all.
The Dolphin Carnival was held in December the outdoor S0m pool at the Makino Aquatic Centre,
although the weather wasn't ideal it was great to see the club back running a meet and giving the
swimmers an opportunity to race in a SO metre pool.
I would like to thank the following groups:
-Our dedicated coaching team for their time and commitment working with swimmers of all
levels.
-The swimming officials representing our club, Referee's Bobbi Kitchen and Rhys Simpson, Timekeepers
Major Meta, Wayne Sia, Shane Halcox and Helen Baird. Volunteers are vital to our sport so the support
these officials provided to Manawatu carnivals can't be undervalued.
-The committee for all the work they do behind the scenes to keep the club running, especially like to
acknowledge Vicki Williams who has retired this year after tirelessly supporting the club for many years.
-Paterson Accountants Ltd for their continued support in reviewing our annual accounts.
-And lastly the swimmers and parents who have supported our club throughout the year.
I wish the incoming committee and the Dolphin ASC every success for the 2017 - 2018 season.
Unity Hope

FASC Annual Report 2016-2017
The 2016-17 Swimming Season has seen huge changes for Feilding Amateur Swimming Club.
Some of our long-standing Coaches and Committee retired, and when the Makino Aquatic
Centre re-opened after remodelling on 1st September, we started again with a new vision.
Our Club had traditionally been a “summer club” with a focus on Learn to Swim. Our new
Coaching and Admin team is a dynamic bunch of people with a passion to improve all areas of
Competitive swimming at FASC. With the help and support of the Makino Masters Swim Team
we took a dive into the unknown, and it has worked incredibly well!
While still maintaining some Learn to Swim groups this Season, we also developed our
Competitive swimming base to have 40 swimmers attend Carnivals, 8 Swimmers attend
Manawatu Age Groups -gaining 26 medals, 4 swimmers attend Junior Festival, and 1 Swimmer
attend Division 2. We also have 9 Qualified Time keepers and a Premium Coach.
We did not hold a SNZ Carnival, instead opting for improvements and changes to the Penhey
Cup Inter-School Carnival, which our Club has hosted since 1940. All 23 Primary Schools in
Manawatu District are invited to send their best individual swimmers and Relay Teams to
compete, and some of the trophies are nearly 100 years old.
At present we have a 30-strong Race Team training in 3 Squads over the winter period. Moving
into the 2017-18 swim season, we have formed a strong alliance with F3 Triathlon Coaching,
and their High Performance Coach will be coaching our Senior Swimmers regularly.
Our Coaches, Administrators and Swimmers have developed a strong team bond within our
“swimming family” and we look forward to achieving even more this season.
On behalf of the Admin and Coaching Team
Amanda Gamble
FASC Secretary/Senior Coach

PRESIDENTS REPORT 2016-2017
Firstly, I would like to acknowledge the commitment of the Committee who have worked tirelessly,
seeking to improve all aspects of the club operations to benefit our swimmers – you have been a
pleasure to work with. I would like to recognize Andrew and Monika Arbuthnott who have made a
significant contribution to the club over the last five years and who have decided to step down from
committee. To our Head Coach, Darryl Gledhill and Dry Land Coach Lander Sanisitou thank you,
together you have laid a strong foundation of growth for all swimmers, and to our awesome coaches who
have worked so cohesively to develop swimmer skills.
The club ran two very successful carnivals over the year and we thank all our families for supporting the
carnivals, many working behind the scenes. Our carnival income ensures we are able to keep fees as
low as possible.
We had nine swimmers qualify for NZ Junior Festival, three for DivII, three for National Age Groups,
three for NZ Opens, one for Youth Commonwealth Games, two for 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth
Long List.
The challenge the club has faced over the year is to increase swimmer participation at local carnivals
and ultimately increase competitive swimmer numbers – to facilitate this the club has run Club and
Chocolate Fish Nights which is slowly resulting in increased representation of Ice Breaker Aquatics
members at carnivals. The club has also run several clinics, tapping into external resources, which has
proved beneficial to the club in two ways; coaching and swimmer development. Thank you to James
Ross who ran the Water Polo classes over the May-June period – James’ passion and enthusiasm for
water polo is infectious and the swimmers thoroughly enjoyed the Thursday nights.
The club is characterized by multi-faceted aquatic membership; club, triathlete and competitive
swimmers. We wish to acknowledge the contribution to the club by our triathletes and their network. We
also wish to acknowledge and celebrate our strong multicultural membership. We strongly embrace our
‘Family Club’ philosophy across membership, and it is rewarding to see friendships made at club grow
and flourish outside pool training.
The club contributed to the Whakaronga School gala by donating membership as a raffle prize and was
also a sponsor for the second year of ‘I Tri’d A Tri’. Our family referral scheme has also proved popular.
Thank you to the man behind the lens Prashant Joshi for the awesome photographs taken of our
swimmers and the memories they provide. We also acknowledge Craig Doolan for attending ‘I Tri’d A
Tri’ during the summer and promoting the club.
Finally, once again a thank you to the club executive and to those who are embracing the opportunity to
continue as executive for 2017-2018, coaches, life members, members, our club sponsors and to all the
parents who bring swimmers to the pool day-after-day. We welcome new friends to our ‘Family Club’.

Kiwi West Aquatics Presidents Report 2016-2017
Firstly l would like to take this opportunity to thank all the dedicated committee members who work
tirelessly in making our club run so smoothly. Without this team of volunteers we couldn't be the club we
are today.
Our senior swimmers have had another outstanding year, regionally, nationally and internationally. With
Manawatu and NZ records broken again this year. These results don't come without the hard work and
dedication to the sport.
Congratulations to Mya Rasmussen who went to the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas.
Mya came home with one gold and two silver medals.
Congratulations to the other senior swimmers who have been selected in NZ teams to swim overseas.
Our club is growing in members with multiple junior swimmers so we will continue to grow our club in the
years to come. With more club nights for those swimmers to attend and grow their desire to compete. I
see their passion to follow what our older squad swimmers achieve will be well within their reach.
Good luck to all Kiwi Swimmers for the upcoming swimming season.

CHAIRPERSON REPORT 2016-17
This has been a very challenging year with the renovation of the Levin Aquatic Centre. Membership
and income was at an all time low. Aquatic Horowhenua did their best to accommodate the many clubs
who were affected by the 5 month closure. Best outcome about the renovation was the upgrade of
rooms and the new management and staff that are now in operation. We look forward to working with
Aquatic Horowhenua to improve swimming within our community. They have some great initiatives
planned ahead.
We have recently farewelled our Coach, Jay Roberts. He has guided our Senior swimmers to succeed
and mentored Coach Rose Kerehoma to gain more knowledge around training competitive swimmers.
Thank you for returning to the club, we wish you all the best in the UK, you will be missed.
Thank you Coach Rose for your continued commitment to the club. It is great to see you grow over the
last two years under the guidance of Coach Jay. We hope you have learnt a great deal and wish you
all the best as you continue to develop these skills and gain confidence in your future learning.
We wish to acknowledge Vanessa Mulholland who continued to support the club as the Race Secretary
despite no longer having a child/swimmer in the club. Your experience, personality and knowledge
learnt in a short time was second to none. We are truly grateful. You have set a high standard in the
Role of Race Secretary and all things related – eg. Prize giving, hosting Swim meets, Club Champs
and Club nights. We will do our best to continue at the standard you have set.
We also fare welled Kevin Doig our Club Patron for many years, who has recently moved to the
Hawkes Bay. Thank you for your consistence support over many years.
Levin Masters Swim Club has always been a great supporter of the LSC. Thank you for funds you
grant to the club over the years and opportunities to fundraise at your events.
Kiwisport Funding has been granted from Sport Manawatu to support primary school aged swimmers
who have qualified for Interschool swimming sports. This is to improve swimming technique and to
guide swimmers in the rules and expectations when competing at this competition. We hope this will
encourage swimmers to join the club after a great first time experience.
The following swimmers attended and represented our club at National events in the 2016/17 season:
2017 Junior Festival – Hana Kerins, Taisha Tanira, Emily Tanira
2017 National Age Groups: Jimi Aungiers Katie Kerins
DIV II – Jimi Aungiers, Katie Kerins, Alina Croad, Hayley Duggan, Hana Kerins
Congratulations to following Swimmers for winning Cups at the Manawatu Age Group Summer
Championships 2017.
Emily Tanira – Manawatu Age Group 9 Year old Champion Cup
Chase Sievers – Manawatu Age Group 8 Year old Champion Cup
We have had an influx of new junior swimmers for 2017. May you continue with the sport as you are
the future of the club.
To our senior swimmers, perseverance and hard work is the key to success.
To all club parents, thank you for choosing the Levin Swimming Club. This is a very proud club that
was established in 1912. We need to work together as a team to make sure our club grows in strength
for future swimmers.
To the committee of 2016-17. Jacqui, Jill, Kylie have now been serving on the committee for a number
of years. Thank you all very much for your contribution, time and commitment. We recognize and
appreciate all your work over the years. We welcomed Tracey Andrews to the committee 3 months ago
and taking on the Parent Liaison position. Thank you for making yourself available. We look forward to
working with new parents who would like to serve on the committee this coming year.

Palmerston North Amateur Swimming Club Inc
Annual Report 2016-2017
The 2016-2017 season has been a successful one for the Club, our Club membership has
increased 15% over the 2015-2016 season. Our membership has not been at this level since
we ran a learn to swim programme a number of years ago. The increase in numbers has also
put pressure on the coaches and has required a reshuffle of groups from time to time in an
endeavour to give swimmers who want to compete the best opportunity to train for their events.
The committee made the decision to move our Club Championships to May to align more with
the revised swimming year. I would like to thank all the officials who came to ensure that we
did have the correct number of officials on the pool deck, particularly Bobbie Kitchen from the
Dolphin Club who travelled over from Feilding to ensure that we had sufficient officials present.
Our results were accepted by Swimming New Zealand as an approved meet.
If you have gained officials qualifications during the year, thank you. Now you have a
qualification please look at training in another position, the sport really needs you to continue
to develop as an official.
Congratulations to Michan Hunter who is the very deserving recipient of the Swimmer of the
Year trophy. Michan returned to the pool after some time out of the water, qualified for, and
attended Division II in Rotorua, where he won 6 Gold medals. At Division II he qualified for
National Age Groups performing very well at this event also.
There has also been an increase in the number of swimmers who have been attending swim
meets both locally and in other regions.
Swimmers who attended National events were:-
Junior Festival – Kayla Adams, Jessica Allen, Cameron Baker, Kevin Cao, Emma Clark,
Jessica Greenwood, Linn Herzig, Hana Linton, Nadia Mabey, Fenwick Mercer, Abigail
Thompson, Emily Thompson, Ian Tsui
Division II – Charlotte Thompson, Michan Hunter, Jacob Thompson
National Age Groups – Elen Barr, Michan Hunter, Charlotte Thompson, Jacob Thompson
NZ Secondary Schools – Charles Southee, Campbell Jackson, Charlotte Thompson, Jacob
Thompson
NZ Short Course – Charles Southee,
Thanks to Amanda Thompson for setting up and maintaining the Club Facebook page, if you
are not already a member, please contact Amanda to arrange access.
My thanks to each person on the committee for the time that you all spend ensuring that the
Club functions to a high level. Fiona does a great job as Treasurer, Sharon is an awesome
Secretary, Marian is the keeper of the times and records. Les and Brenda sourced the new
club uniform you are all wearing so proudly today. Our Club Captain’s Kate Holmes and Eli
Honey did a great job organising and running the Club Christmas function and are regular
attendees at committee meetings.
Finally to the coaches who are at the end of the pool whenever you are there, a very sincere
thank you from us all. Tony, Unity, Janelle, Kate, Nina you are all there even when the
swimmers are not. You make a huge commitment for our swimmers and it is very much
appreciated.
I wish the incoming committee for the 2017-2018 season every success.

Pahiatua Swimming Club – Presidents Report 2017
This club has got long history and we all should be proud of having a swimming club in our little
town. The opportunity for local swimmers being able to train and get to their best form for
school swimming sports should always be available.
This year we had 22 children enrolled with Learn to Swim, down on previous years, and about
55 through Swimming Club. I would like to thank all the swimmers for their hard work and
enthusiasm which makes the teaching really easy and enjoyable. We had a great time this year
in the senior squad with 16 swimmers.
Cooler weather meant we had only the most dedicated swimmers. Another positive difference
from last year was having 4 pool side coaches, meaning we could focus on individual
swimmers to improve, streamlining, turns, starts & strokes through all buckets & the senior
squad. As mentioned before, we ran only 1 Senior Squad this year and this worked well,
challenging the younger swimmers in the squad and pushing the older swimmers with healthy
competition. We had changed the buckets back into normal time of 5.00pm for Bucket 1 and 2
& 5.30 pm for Bucket 3 and4. By having a lane available in squads for bucket 4, swimmers who
wished to do more training could stay on.
This is my 5th year as President and Head Coach. I have a passion for swimming & love seeing
young people enjoying the water, learning to swim & getting fit all at once. It’s great to have
some other adult coaches with the same passion thoroughly enjoying their coaching.
Pahiatua Swimming Club is run by volunteers and I would like to acknowledge their time and
effort that helped make this year a success. Firstly, thanks must also go to volunteer coaches
and support team for Learn To Swim, namely Anna Bennett, Abby Bailey, Bridget Gavigan,
Sophie & Katie Oswald, Adam Arbuthnott, Catherine & Savanna Pardey, Dana Broughton,
Rawiri Aspinall, Haylee Wallace & Charlotte McKellar- MacFarguhar. Next thanks also goes
to our coaches for buckets & squads at Swimming Club nights; Simon White, Dana Broughton
& Anna Bennett, and to all parents who helped out, we couldn’t do it without you and it’s great
to see the community spirit alive and well!
This club has got dedicated committee members - Julie Woodmass, Kerry Moore, Catherine
Pardey, Ceri Treder, Katrina Rankin & Rita Petaera who helped out in many ways to ensure the
smooth running of the club.
Also a huge thank you to Tararua College for the use of their pool and to Karolyn Donald and
the Tararua District Council for the use of the Town Pool for Learn to Swim sessions and in the
first week of Swimming Club. Hoffman Ford for keeping the starter battery in great working
order in-fact a complete overhaul of the starter this year. It’s like brand new, now ready for
another 50 years, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.
Congratulations to all involved and I personally can’t wait for the next season to start.

PRESIDENTS REPORT 2016-2017
May 2017
The cooler and wetter summer season had a big impact on our outdoor swim club this year with
numbers at training & club nights not reaching usual standards until February. The numbers
for our Learn to Swim week of lessons in early February were also less than previous years,
although the talk around the one-to-one ratios that were the result of this, may well lead to an
increase in 2018. Many thanks to our instructors who volunteer to take these lessons.
We held a successful Carnival on February 12th, which did follow the same theme with fewer
participants. The parents of our members generously filled many of the positions required to
make this day flow, along with our Cluster Swimming Sports held at the Lido in March.
Of major importance to us this coming year is gaining funding to enable the necessary upgrade
to occur to our pool, plant and surrounds. There is potential for this to impact on our season
next summer, depending on when work is able to be carried out, and we will be aiming for
minimal disruption to our traditional dates to maintain continuity for our swimmers. We have
also re-created a Memorandum of Understanding with Rongotea School to ensure this
important relationship is maintained.
Our club continues to be supported by a number of really dedicated individuals, whose
knowledge and understanding of our club, swimmers and swimming ensuring that our Club
runs as it should. Special thanks to Sue & Lou Noel, Pam Gatchell, Catherine Evans & Kelly
Powell for all their efforts.

PATERSON ACCOUNTANTS LTD
Unqualified Review Report
ACCOUNTANT’S REPORT TO: SWIMMING MANAWATU INC
We have reviewed the accompanying balance sheet of Swimming Manawatu
Incorporated at 30 June 2017, and the income statement, statement of changes in
equity and cash flow statement for the year then ended. These financial statements
are the responsibility of the Company's management. Our responsibility is to issue
a report on these financial statements based on our review.
We conducted our review in accordance with the International Standard on Review
Engagements 2400 (or refer to relevant national standards or practices applicable
to review engagements). This Standard requires that we plan and perform the
review to obtain moderate assurance as to whether the financial statements are
free of material misstatement. A review is limited primarily to inquiries of Swimming
Manawatu Inc. personnel and analytical procedures applied to financial data and
thus provides less assurance than an audit. We have not performed an audit and,
accordingly, we do not express an audit opinion.
Based on our review, nothing has come to our attention that causes us to believe
that the accompanying financial statements do not give a true and fair view (or are
not presented fairly, in all material respects) in accordance with International
Accounting Standards.

1 STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTING POLICIES
These are the financial statements of Swimming Manawatu Incorporated.
Swimming Manawatu Incorporated is an Incorporated Society established under the
Incorporated Societies Act 1908.
These financial statements are a special purpose report and have been prepared to
satisfy the requirements of the Society's Constitution and for internal management
purposes.
The accounting policies adopted are not in conformity with generally accepted
accounting practice. Accordingly the financial statements should only be relied on for the
expressly stated purpose.
The accounting principles recognised as appropriate for the measurement and

with the exception of certain items for which specific accounting policies have been
identified.
Property, Plant, Equipment and Depreciation

equipment that are leased under a finance lease for the purposes of the Income Tax
Legislation are capitalised and depreciated. The depreciation rates used are shown in
the Schedule of Property, Plant and Equipment.
Fundraising and Grants
Grants received are included in operating revenue. If particular conditions are attached
to a grant that would require it to be repaid if these conditions are not met, then the
grant is recorded as a liability until the conditions are satisfied.
Accounts Receivable
Accounts receivable are stated at their estimated realisable value.
Investments
Investments are stated at cost.
Goods and Services Tax
Financial information in these accounts is recorded exclusive of GST with the
exception of receivables and payables, which include GST. GST payable or receivable
at balance date is included in the appropriate category in the Balance Sheet.
Changes in Accounting Policies
There have been no specific changes in accounting policies and they have been applied
on a consistent basis with those of the previous period.
