American University of Leadership (AUL) is once again expanding its footprint in the United States by blending its “Online Programs” with the new “Instructor Led Courses” on the Metro-West Campus. The new campus began offering physical classes this Fall 2014; the online program will continue to host its programs and degrees alongside the new classes. The state-of-the-art facility is home to High-Tech classrooms that are designed to comfortably accommodate students in a business-like atmosphere. The student-centric lounge area is designed to engage students in conversation while enjoying warm beverages and images on the Large Screen TV. Computer work stations and Wi-Fi connectivity are also available for student convenience. As an added value, professors maintain office hours to better support students with their courses. Since 2010, American University of Leadership has been thinking ahead in the field of business education. By providing “anywhere and anytime” courses, the pioneering founders of AUL have helped thousands of graduates achieve goals they would never have thought possible. Alumni all over the world are proud to display their AUL badge as a sign of proven leadership. Referring to the new campus, President of the university Dr. Anass Lahlou, commented “I have received several requests from Alumni wishing to take a picture with the large AUL badge displayed in the front office.” As strange as the request is, beginning Fall 2015, Alumni will be allowed to visit the campus and take a picture under the famous AUL Badge on display in the front office. “Another great tradition in AUL is born”. After its success in establishing itself in the Kingdom of Morocco, American University of Leadership is the first American University to share its experience and expertise with our African brothers and friends. Africa is called upon many parts of the world: Europe, America, Asia…There is an overflow of richness in Africa that is known to all of us... To have spoken in the past about Africa as a continent would’ve been out of touch, but nowadays many conflicts came to an end as a result we see more political stability which translate into growing GDP and new partnerships notably Canada with investors settling in the region, without counting all the head of states visits: Russia, Turkey, Venezuela… It’s an emerging continent for sure. «Leadership is what Africa needs. Not any type of leadership, but the one well prepared to manage socio-economics with a visionary goal mentality that will allow this leader to attack the high number of problems that are high jacking the continent. There is a leadership crisis that prevents adaptive development processing to be put in place in Africa.Leadership is a personnel transformation method, a particular life approach attitude and to be engaged in a continuous process which leads you toward human accomplishment. That’s why American University of Leadership involvement in Africa comes to play.Human resources, as you all know, are the engine behind all type of development, to get to that level, it’s crucial to be able to face actual problems

The need for communication‘’At the moment where the need for open access reaches a certain maturity in the world especially in the developed countries due to the strategy of systems reinforcement of open access to Technical and Scientific Information (IST) in all domains, it is still in progress in the Developing part of the world, such as the Arab and African countries. In fact, the development of this strategy or movement in these countries is inhibited due to the lack of awareness from researchers and decision-makers to the many advantages it provide, in terms of scientific production visibility, free access to research results, as well as access to performance indicators in the academic environment. This conference goal is to raise awareness and propel the free access movement to a world class scale, particularly in the southern countries by favoring critical thinking about themes related to free access,to enhancement of scientific research and the active roles libraries should play in this new model. The conference objective is to promote information exchange between researchers, academic staff, and data collectors in many fields, to share their experiences and some of their research results related to the new scientific communication and free access models, as well as discuss the challenges ahead to reach proposed solutions. It will provide an overview on the latest developments in the field of open access to IST and sensitize stakeholders of the benefits of free access to involve them in this movement. It is an opportunity to forge collaborative networks among researchers in different countries who will initiate joint projects. ‘’For a full description of the Seminars themes, please visit the conference website at http://icoa2014.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/2

The beginning of the academic year of 2014/2015 was marked by the participation of AUL/PIIMT Marrakech students as volunteers in one of the main events of the year “The Atlantic Dialogues 2014”, which brought together over 400 high-level policymakers, business

leaders, and opinion-shapers from Africa, America, the Caribbean and Europe, for three days of open discussion that widens the traditional transatlantic conversation and addresses issues affecting the Atlantic Basin. The Atlantic Dialogues encourages a lively and informal exchange of views between young professionals and today’s leaders. The forum provides a unique platform for today and tomorrow’s leaders in the world of politics, business, and ideas to engage with senior policy makers, business and media representatives. The event was organized by The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) and the OCP Policy enter of Morocco in Marrakech from October 23 to 26, 2014 in Palmeraie Golf Palace “Palais des congres”.The main offer that AUL/PIIMT students had was being an integral part of the success of The Atlantic

Dialogues and getting first-hand experience of high-level political event organization on an operational level, and working closely with GMF and the OCP Policy Center staff in the run-up to the event and assisting in a wide array of logistical and administrative tasks during the weekend of the conference, including but not limited to security, guest relations, production, transportation assistance, and media. Volunteers also had the opportunity to participate in parts of the official program. And here are some qualifications required before selections Fluency in English and preferably French or Arabic; excellent communication skills; strong interest in challenges facing the Wider Atlantic; and motivation to work flexible hours and handle logistical and administrative work. Experience in event management is desirable but not essential. Volunteers are expected to be punctual, reliable, and to dress and behave in a professional manner throughout the duration of the conference and preparations At the end of the event, all AUL/PIIMT students who participated received their certificate of participations, but better than that, they learned how it is like to work in a multicultural team, and the way international event were organized.

MEDays International Forum

AUL/PIIMT was this year represented at MEDays by Pr. Debra Duncan, International Public Relations Director and Ms. Meriem Khattabi, Tangier Operations Assistant. The Forum took place this year in Tangier, a city that is known as the crossroads of Africa and Europe, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Tangier is rich in diplomatic history, its cultural mix and its international heritage, made it an ideal selection for the 7th edition of the International Forum MEDays, hosted under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.The MEDays International Forum represents an annual meeting space for exchange and sharing of excellence and knowledge which is open to the public and brought together leaders from around the world who came to contribute to the international dialogue on economic, social, environmental, political and security issues faced by the southern countries in a globalized world who are in search of new avenues of community and economic health and the realization of new benchmarks.Morocco has positioned itself as a regional hub in the fight against terrorism. The Moroccan experience is based on a realistic approach and effective policies, proposed by King Mohammed VI, which are intended to be coherent, comprehensive, optimistic and structural. Morocco is therefore convinced that there can be no security, peace and stability without the triptych: safety, fair and inclusive human development and promotion of cultural and authentic religious values. However, Morocco’s contribution is viable only through individual and collective commitment of States and must be done in a constructive spirit, far from all political calculations.Ms. Duncan and Ms. Khattabi enjoyed great opportunity in participating in several conferences, sharing ideas, posing questions important to continued growth in higher education and corporate training models. The experience brought us back to the comforting knowledge that AUL/PIIMT is now and has history of moving in the right direction at the right time, equipped with the current and future programs bringing the knowledge and skills that are indeed leading the way to sustainable current successes and bridging the gap to current and future national and international opportunities.
