Gospel: luke 12: 35-48 or 12:35-40 One way Christians can prove that they are a people of faith is to live every day as though they expect Jesus to return. Today's gospel urges us to be awake and on the watch like servants awaiting the master's return home. We should be "on guard" against anyone or anything that leads us astray from Christ. Since no one knows when the
final judgment will happen, the wise person will always be prepared for it. 1.) When Jesus comes, will you want to keep your door closed, or open it up wide? 2.) Are you going to wait until the end of time to welcome Jesus, or can you begin today? How?

cuando será el juicio final, la persona sabia estará siempre preparada para eso. 1.) ¿Quiero tener la puerta cerrada o abierta cuando venga Jesús? 2.) ¿Vas a esperar hasta el final de los tiempos para aceptar a Jesús o empezarás hoy? ¿Ahora?

Pastor’s Message: The central theme of this Sundays readings is the necessity for trusting faith in God’s promises and vigilant preparedness among Christ’s followers. We need to be ready and vigilant to face the Lord. Prayer is one of the traditional means to remain alert. The most important element in prayer is listening to God. We must wait for the Lord in our daily lives by learning to see Jesus in the least of our brothers and sisters. In other words, we must be prepared to serve Jesus in whatever form he ap-pears. Today, looking back on the two thousand years of Christian history, we find it difficult. But we are sure to meet him at our death and we should always be ready to give him account of our lives.

Mensaje del Pastor: El tema central de las lecturas de este domingos es la nece-sidad de confiar y tener fe en las promesas de Dios y la de estar listos y permanecer alertas entre los seguidores de Cristo. Tenemos que estar preparados y vigilantes para hacer frente al Señor. La oración es uno de los medios tradicionales para mantenerse alerta. El elemento más importante en la oración es escuchar a Dios. Tenemos que esperar al Señor en nuestra vida diaria, apren-diendo a ver a Jesús en los más pequeños de nuestros herma-nos y hermanas. En otras palabras, tenemos que estar prepa-rados para servir a Jesús sin importar que apariencia tenga. Hoy, mirando hacia atrás en los dos mil años de historia cris-tiana, se nos hace difícil pero se nos asegura que lo encontra-remos en nuestra muerte. Annual Parish Barbecue:
On Saturday, September 14th, Epiphany will be having its Annual Parish Barbe-
cue in the cafeteria after the 5:30pm mass. There is a choice of either hot
dogs or hamburgers served with sides of corn and chili beans. In addition, barbecue sticks will also be sold. You can dine in or take out! Tickets for adults are $10 and $5 for children.

Overnight Parking: We are appealing to our Parishioners to please do not park overnight in the Church Yard Parking when going on pilgrimages or trips. Unfortunately, the parking lot is limited in space an it deprives our mass goers from, parking during our scheduled masses. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Policy for Fundraising: In order to facilitate our various Parish func-tions and events, all Group Leaders must turn in a request form to the Parish office (for any fundraising). The Pastor must approve all fundraising. If no form has been turned into the Parish and/or approved by the Pastor, your event will not take place.
