cord of any accessory, grasp andpull the plug, not the cord.

• Check regularly that accessoriesinstalled in a vehicle are mountedand are operating properly.

• Installation of any complex caraccessories must be made byqualified personnel only.

Important: Battery talk and stand-bytimes are estimates and only possibleunder optimal network conditions.Actual battery talk and standby timesdepend on SIM cards, features used, battery age and condition, temperatures to which battery isexposed, network conditions, and many

other factors, and may be significantlyshorter than those specified above.Ringing tones, hands free call handling, use in digital mode, and other featureswill also consume the battery, and theamount of time a device is used for callswill affect its stand-by time. Likewise, the amount of time that the device isturned on and in the standby mode willaffect its talk time.

BatteryBattery and charger informationYour device is powered by arechargeable battery. The batteryintended for use with this device isBL-4C. Nokia may make additionalbattery models available for this device. This device is intended for use whensupplied with power from the followingchargers: AC-3. The exact charger modelnumber may vary depending on the typeof plug. The plug variant is identified byone of the following: E, EB, X, AR, U, A, C,K, or UB. Proper charging. Unplug the chargerfrom the electrical plug and the devicewhen not in use. Do not leave a fullycharged battery connected to a charger, since overcharging may shorten itslifetime. If left unused, a fully chargedbattery will lose its charge over time.

Avoid extreme temperatures. Always tryto keep the battery between 15°C and25°C (59°F and 77°F). Extreme

temperatures reduce the capacity andlifetime of the battery. A device with ahot or cold battery may not worktemporarily. Battery performance isparticularly limited in temperatureswell below freezing.

Do not short-circuit. Accidental short-circuiting can occur when a metallicobject such as a coin, clip, or pen causesdirect connection of the positive (+) andnegative (-) terminals of the battery.(These look like metal strips on thebattery.) This might happen, forexample, when you carry a spare batteryin your pocket or purse. Short-circuitingthe terminals may damage the batteryor the connecting object.

If the device or battery isdropped, especially on a hard surface, and you believe the battery has beendamaged, take it to a service centre forinspection before continuing to use it.Never use any charger or battery that isdamaged. Keep your battery out of thereach of small children.

Certification information (SAR)This mobile device meets guidelinesfor exposure to radio waves.

Your mobile device is a radio transmitterand receiver. It is designed not to exceedthe limits for exposure to radio wavesrecommended by internationalguidelines. These guidelines weredeveloped by the independent scientificorganisation ICNIRP and include safetymargins designed to assure the

protection of all persons, regardless ofage and health.

The exposure guidelines for mobiledevices employ a unit of measurementknown as the Specific Absorption Rateor SAR. The SAR limit stated in the ICNIRPguidelines is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg)averaged over 10 grams of tissue. Testsfor SAR are conducted using standardoperating positions with the devicetransmitting at its highest certifiedpower level in all tested frequencybands. The actual SAR level of anoperating device can be below themaximum value because the device isdesigned to use only the power requiredto reach the network. That amountchanges depending on a number offactors such as how close you are to anetwork base station.

The highest SAR value under the ICNIRPguidelines for use of the device at theear is 1.38 W/kg.

Use of device accessories may result indifferent SAR values. SAR values mayvary depending on national reportingand testing requirements and thenetwork band. Additional SARinformation may be provided under
