The HDcctv Alliance® estimates that 26 million CCTV cameras shipped in 2008. It is estimated
that around 41 million units will ship in 2014. The Alliance projects that the HDcctv product category will initially take a small
share of the video surveillance market, growing to around 15% by 2014.
Despite the growth of IP-based video surveillance, in the analog/HDcctv world, edge based hacking attacks on the network are impossible since the hacker needs to gain direct access to the DVR. IP networked cameras, on the other hand, are highly vulnerable to edge based hacking.

cable based video systems with a low-power alternative interface providing a high quality, all-digital, long reach video transport transmit solution.
• Upgrades existing analog composite over coax installations directly to high definition systems at 720p and 1080p.

MachXO2 Pico Development Kit The MachXO2 Pico Development Kit is a battery-powered, low-cost
evaluation platform to accelerate the evaluation of MachXO2 PLDs. Using the
preloaded Environment Scanning system-on-chip (SoC) design provided with the
development kit, you can now test within minutes, popular interfaces such as UART,
SPI, I2C and LCD control using the integrated 8-bit LatticeMico8™ microcontroller
in conjunction with the MachXO2 Embedded Function Bock (EFB). You can then

POWR1014A Breakout Board Evaluation Kit Lattice Breakout Board Evaluation Kits offer a convenient way to conduct hardware evaluations by providing easy hand-access to densely-spaced PLD I/Os. Because the center-to-center spacing of the package pins/balls of PLD modern packages can be 1.00 mm BSC (Basic Spacing between Spacing) or less, it can be very difficult to probe I/Os once a circuit board has been fabricated. The electrical traces of Lattice Breakout boards connect each I/O to header landings that have 100 mil (0.1 inch) centered holes. By adding test probes, jumper wires, or pin headers to the header landings, you can easily evaluate voltage monitors, high-voltage FET drivers, and open drain outputs of the POWR1014A.

ProcessorPM Development Kit Get started integrating multiple power management ICs fast with the ProcessorPM Development Kit. To help you get started quickly, the kit includes a pre-configured processor support demonstration design that will support hundreds of microprocessor, DSP, ASSP, or ASIC power management scenarios. For flexibility in a mixed voltage environment, the M890 has 4 VCC pins. There
is a VCC pin for the core, a VCC pin for the UART signals, a VCC pin for the CPU interface
signals and a VCC pin for the GPIO signals. The VCC pins for the UART, GPIO and
CPU interface signals allow for the M890 to interface with devices operating at
different voltage levels eliminating the need for external voltage level shifters. The
VCC core voltage helps to lower the overall power consumption for applications that
use slower data rates.
The XR20M1280 (M1280) is a single-channel I2C/SPI Universal Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter (UART) with integrated level shifters and 128 bytes of transmit and receive FIFOs.
For flexibility in a mixed voltage environment, the M1280 has 4 VCC pins. There is a VCC
pin for the core, a VCC pin for the UART signals, a VCC pin for the CPU interface signals and
a VCC pin for the GPIO signals. The VCC pins for the UART, GPIO and I2C/SPI interface signals
allow for the M1280 to interface with devices operating at different voltage levels eliminating
the need for external voltage level shifters. The VCC pin for the core voltage helps lower the

Overcome Signal Attenuation and Noise & Jitter Interference Challenges in USB 3.0 System DesignTo offset the signal quality degradation, Pericom offers a broad array of USB 3.0 ReDrivers for maintaining a high level of SI (Signal Integrity) during Tx and Rx of USB 3.0 high-speed signals.
The highly anticipated USB 3.0 is now seeing wide spread adoption in PC, Notebook, Server and Portable Devices. USB 3.0 delivers an unprecedented bandwidth, 10 times that of USB 2.0. USB 3.0 supports full-duplex communication, or the ability to send and receive data simultaneously. It also improves QoS (Quality of Service) thanks to advance data error checking, while saving power with the USB 3.0 link power management. Most importantly, it is 100% backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices. However, with all these added benefits, the high-speed differential signal of USB 3.0 also introduces uncontrollable noise, or signal attenuation, causing USB 3.0 signal voltage swing to overshoot or undershoot the “optimal eye opening”. This distorts the quality of USB 3.0 signal eye during high-speed signal switching. USB 3.0 signal quality is gravely impacted when
random or deterministic noise degrades the signal quality with crosstalk during transmitting and receiving of USB 3.0 packets between USB 3.0 hosts and peripheral devices.
Faced with complex PCB layout challenges, USB 3.0 system designers see significant benefits from Pericom USB 3.0 ReDrivers in transmitting and receiving reliable USB 3.0 signals with strong output swing, effective jitter removal, flexible transmit emphasis and receiver equalization. System designers don’t always have full control as to how USB 3.0 end-point devices, like external HDDs, digital cameras, handhelds, or tablets, are connected between host and end point. When the signal travels thru extensive traces, multi-layer vias, connectors before exiting to the USB 3.0 ports or cables, the transmit eye of USB 3.0 host or device may show significant degradation from
jitter, attenuation or insertion loss. As result, the USB 3.0 link may likely suffer greater BER and link recovery during USB 3.0 cable plug and un-plug processes. USB 3.0 system designers need to take greater measures to ensure strong SI during USB 3.0 Tx and Rx signal transmission. Pericom’s USB 3.0 ReDriver devices offer the exact Signal Conditioning Solutions to ensure that the USB 3.0 eye is fully optimized to maintain consistent level of SI when routing extensive long traces across connectors, vias and thru cables.

Demand continues to grow for mobile consumer devices like GPS/navigation
systems, smart phones, digital cameras, and gaming units. This creates the requirement
for ever increasing processing capacity and with that the need for more dynamic
memory (DRAM) for fast access and processing of the multimedia content. At the same
time, mobile products are shrinking in size, with less space for batteries, necessitating
the use of LPDDR products. These meet the data bandwidth need but have much
lower operating and standby currents than traditional “PC” memory. The result is the
increasing use of higher density LPDDR devices in various form-factors including BGA
package, Package-on-Package (PoP) and Known Good Die (KGD).
Many Industrial and Medical applications also have adopted LPDDR products to
take advantage of the low voltage / low power features of LPDDRs. Virtually every new
MicroController (MCU) uses advanced process technology, limiting I/O voltage to 1.8V.
Rather than having to use DDR2 devices with much higher density than is needed and
with a substantially higher power consumption, engineers are turning to LPDDR devices
such as the popular 128Mb product from ISSI. The IS43LR32400F offers a sweet-spot in
terms of density and performance, but with lower power and reduced system cost than
equivalent DDR2 devices.

LTC4270 - 12-Port PoE/PoE+/LTPoE++ PSE Controller
Isolated 12-Port Power over Ethernet PSE Controller Chipset provides 12 independent PSE channels for simpler, lower component count designs, reduced board space and lower solution costs.
The LTC®4270/LTC4271 chipset is a 12-Port Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) controller designed for use in IEEE 802.3at Type 1 and Type 2 (high power) compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) systems. Transformer-isolated communication protocol replaces expensive opto-couplers and complex isolated 3.3V supply resulting in significant BOM cost savings. The LTC4270/LTC4271 chipset delivers lowest-in-industry heat dissipation by utilizing low-RDS(ON) external MOSFETs and 0.25Ω sense resistors.
The LTC4270/LTC4271 is available in multiple power grades allowing delivered PD power up to 90W. Advanced power management features
include per-port 12-bit current monitoring ADCs, DAC-programmable current limit, and versatile fast shut-down of preselected ports. Advanced power management host software is available under a no-cost license. PD Discovery uses a proprietary dual-mode 4-point detection mechanism ensuring excellent immunity from false PD detection. The LTC®5569 dual active downconverting
mixer is optimized for diversity and MIMO
receiver applications that require low power
and small size. Each mixer includes an
independent LO buffer amplifier, active mixer
core, and bias circuit with enable pin. The
symmetry of the IC assures that a phase and
amplitude coherent LO is applied to each
mixer.
The RF inputs are 50Ω matched from 1.4GHz
to 3.3GHz, and easily matched for higher or
lower RF frequencies with simple external
matching. The LO input is 50Ω matched
from 1GHz to 3.5GHz, even when one or both
mixers are disabled. The LO input is easily
matched for higher or lower frequencies,
as low as 350MHz, with simple external
matching. The low capacitance differential IF

LTC3618 - Dual 4MHz, ±3A Synchronous Buck Converter for DDR TerminationCapable of generating the supply voltage and the bus termination voltage for DDR/DDR2/DDR3 and future standard memory applications requiring both sourcing and sinking of current.
The LTC®3618 is a dual synchronous step-down regulator using a current mode, constant-frequency architecture. It provides a complete DDR solution with an input voltage range from 2.25V to 5.5V.
The output of the fi rst step-down regulator offers a high accuracy VDDQ supply. A buffered reference generates VTTR at 50% of VDDQIN and drives loads up to ±10mA. The second regulator generates the DDR termination voltage (VTT) equal to VTTR. Both regulators are capable of delivering ±3A of
load current at 1MHz switching frequency.
The operating frequency is externally programmable up to 4MHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors. 0°, 90°, or 180° of phase shift between the two channels can be selected to minimize input current ripple. For switching noise-sensitive applications, the LTC3618 can be synchronized to an external clock up to 4MHz. The LTC3618 is offered in leadless 24-pin 4mm × 4mm QFN and thermally enhanced 24-pin TSSOP packages.

LT6109 - High Side Current Sense Amplifier with Referenceand Comparators60V Current Sense Amplifier Offers Adjustable Fault Flags.
The LT®6109 is a complete high side current
sense device that incorporates a precision current
sense amplifier, an integrated voltage reference
and two comparators. Two versions of the LT6109
are available. The LT6109-1 has the comparators
connected in opposing polarity and the LT6109-2 has
the comparators connected in the same polarity. In
addition, the current sense amplifier and comparator
outputs are directly accessible. The amplifier gain
and comparator trip points are configured by external
resistors. The open-drain comparator outputs allows
for easy interface to other system components.
The combined system propagation delay of
the LT6109 is typically only 1.4μs, allowing for quick
reaction to overcurrent and undercurrent conditions.
The 1MHz bandwidth allows the LT6109 to be used
for error detection in critical applications such as
motor control. The high threshold accuracy of the
comparators, combined with the ability to latch
both comparators, ensures the LT6109 can capture
high speed events. The LT6109 is fully specified for
operation from –40°C to 125°C, making it suitable
for industrial and automotive applications.

The Micrel Super Switcher II™ and Super Switcher IIG™ families are synchronous buck regulators featuring a unique adaptive on-time control architecture. These devices operate over an input supply range of 4.5V to 28V and provide up to 12A of output current. The output voltage is adjustable down to 0.8V with a guaranteed accuracy of ±1%.
Micrel’s Hyper Speed Control™ architecture allows for ultra-fast transient response while reducing the output capacitance and also makes (High VIN)/(Low VOUT) operation possible. This adaptive tON ripple control architecture combines the advantages of fixed-frequency operation and fast transient response.
Micrel’s HyperLight Load® architecture provides the same high-efficiency and ultra-fast transient response as the Hyper Speed Control™ architecture under medium to heavy loads, but also maintains high efficiency under light load conditions by transitioning to variable-frequency, discontinuous-mode operation.
The family offers a full suite of protection features to ensure protection of the IC during fault conditions. These include undervoltage lockout to ensure proper operation under power-sag conditions, internal soft-start to reduce inrush current, foldback current limit, “hiccup mode” short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown.

XL375 CC - 260 Watts without FansUltra Small, High Efficiency Power Supply with Convection Cooling Option Delivers 260 Watts Without Fans.
The new Convection Cooling Option for the XL375 family delivers 260 watts across all output voltages and eliminates the fans and fan controllers needed to cool conventional power supplies, saving cost and freeing up valuable component space. Doing away with fans and related components and circuitry is significant to designers tasked with increasing the reliability and decreasing the noise of products (fans may fail, and they generate most of the audible sound in contemporary designs).
OEMs can design in both convection-cooled and fan-cooled power supplies that use the same very compact, low profile 3.3” x 5” x 1.5” packaging, connectors and layout, saving time and cost. The very low profile packaging is ideally suited to 1U product designs and makes the system designer’s job much easier.
The Convection Cooling Option gives OEMs a distinct packaging and cost benefit while also reducing overall power consumption and cooling requirements for applications such as industrial automation, telecommunications, gaming systems, security and surveillance systems, and network servers. Our unique technology gives OEM engineers new flexibility in power system design that pays real competitive dividends in their final products.
All models also include Active Current Sharing to allow up to four supplies to be operated in parallel for high output applications. The Active OR-ing mosfet board option is available for N+1 applications. Both 5V standby and 12V auxiliary outputs can be wired Or-able when the main output is disabled. Synchronous rectification delivers exceptionally high efficiency: up to 93% in some models.
