January 25th with over 130 boats displayed at Chandler’s Cove alone. Despite the Mercer construction, over 160,000 people visited us during the 10 day show. Our team was showing off our brand new 82’CPMY, 43 Tiara Open, 2006 OA 64’PH and 2001 41Tiara. We also had 12 boats ranging from

29’ to 90‘ at our office. Thanks to everyone for stopping by the booth and/or our office. Some of the boats reached “sale pending” by the end of the show but some boats

How to Stay Fit On Your Boat

Start standing with your feet together. Jump your legs out. As your feet jump out, your arms should come up above your head. This exercise is meant to speed up your heart rate by doing cardio.

Start standing with your feet together. Step out using your right leg until your left knee taps the floor then stand back up. Repeat on your opposite side. This exer-cise works your backside and leg muscles.

Stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Squat down until your thighs and calves create a 90 degree angle. Then stand back up. This is a great excersize for your thigh muscles.

Lay down on your back with your legs about 45 degrees off the floor and your hands behind your head. Bring one knee into your chest while reaching your opposite elbow toward the knee, return to starting position and continue motion switching legs and elbows. This exercise works your ab muscles.

Lay on the floor on your elbows and toes. Make sure your body is completely flat and your abs are tight. Hold this position for 30 seconds-1 minute. This exer-cise also is great for toning abs.

Start standing with your feet wider than shoulder width apart, toes pointed outward. Squat down 90 degrees, continue motion. This exercise works your inner thighs.

Lay on the floor knees bent and arms on your chest. Crunch your body towards your knees raising your shoulder blades off the floor. Repeat this motion. Do this exercise to work your abs.

Stand in a normal position with your feet together. Raise your body by coming onto your tip toes (it helps to place a hand on a chair or surface for balance). Repeat this movement. For a challenge, try this stand-ing on one leg. This exercise works your calves.

Start with your feet about hip width apart, slightly bent. Skate side-to-side by jumping onto alternating legs using the opposite arm as momentum. This exer-cise not only acts as cardio, but also works your legs.

Use your favorite stretch to cool down from your work out and improve flexibility!

1) Please briefly introduce yourselfMy name is Nick Bischoff, and I am a Business Develop-ment Manager for Tiara Yachts. My primary role is to work with our dealers like Tiara Yachts of Seattle and Newport Beach to grow the Tiara business and the Tiara brand. I have been involved with Tiara Yachts since 2002, both on the retail side of the business and the wholesale side of the business, which is where I now work.

2) Would you please explain a little about your company?Since 1976, Tiara Yachts has been hand crafting the most beautiful small yachts in the world. We use the word “yachts” to describe our product because we believe we over-build our products to meet the demands of our customers. From over-sized hardware, to beefy laminate schedules, we look at all areas of the product – both above deck and below deck to ensure that our customers receive a quality product. Tiara Yachts is one of the few remaining privately held boat builders in the United States, and today it is now being run by three generations of Slikkers, and Leon Slikkers our founder and chairman is still actively involved in the company at the young age of 84!

3) What is your product line?We build what we call “Opens” in 31’, 36’, 39’, and 43’. Our Open business is what put us on the map in 1976, and now is emulated by many of our competitors. We also build flybridge models in 39’ and 48’. These two amazing products can be just as easily outfitted for cruising as they can fishing. Search for them on our website under “Con- vertibles”. Our new dayboat series is called “Coronet”. We offer these highly versatile boats in 31’, 36’, and a brand new 39’. Finally, we offer our Sovran series. All of our Sovran’s are propelled by Volvo Penta’s Inboard Propulsion System, or IPS. From our 35’ Sovran to our flagship of the fleet, our gorgeous 58’ Sovran we’ve got your cruising needs covered.

4) Why did Tiara Yachts choose Ocean Alexander to be their West Coast dealer?Tiara Yachts chose Ocean Alexander to be our dealer on the West Coast because we believed that OA embod-ies what Tiara Yachts represents and what we aspire to be, which is a first class organization selling only the highest quality products to the most discerning of customers. We are very fortunate to have Ocean Alexander representing our products because we know that our mutual customers will be properly taken care of regard-less if it is a thirty year old Tiara or brand new.

6) Who do you see as Tiara’s biggest direct competition to the Open series?I would be nieve to think that Tiara Yachts does not have any competitors, but our biggest competitor on the new boat side of things is the pre-owned Tiara. Why do you think that is?? I think it speaks volumes about our company and the type of durable products that we manufacture. In terms of other competitors, I’ll leave that up to your smart customers to tell me who they think it is.

7) When is the next convertible coming?The next new convertible model coming from Tiara Yachts is our brand new 5000 series. The coupe version will be introduced in late summer 2013 and the flybridge model we expect out by the Miami Show of 2014....maybe a little sooner. Look for more information in the coming weeks on the new 5000!

9) How was the Miami show?The Miami Boat Show was excellent. We saw record crowds and very good results. Consumers are starting to feel good about getting back on the water with newer, more innovative products. Manufacturers who recognized this trend will be the beneficiary of incremental sales....i.e. Tiara Yachts

10) What is the feature of Zeus package?Cummins introduced a POD like system to compete with Vovlo Penta’s IPS a few years ago and it is every bit advanced as Volvo’s. We have installed the ZEUS system in our 4300 Open with great success. There are many advantages to the system but I think the greatest one is ease of docking and maneuvering in general. There is also the added benefit of increased fuel economy and efficiency....this makes sense when you think about it; two counter rotating forward facing props per drive that pivot on its axis. Coupled with reliable Cummins Diesels and you have a perfect blend of horsepower and efficiency!

11) Do you have an owners club or any forum that we can attend?We have an excellent owner’s forum on our website that is quite active with many Tiara enthusiasts. We welcome your participation!

Tim has been boating on Puget Sound all his life. He has been working in the service side of recreational boating in Seattle for over 25 years, commissioning such brands as Ocean Alexander, Choey Lee,

Tollycraft, Searay, Tiara and Viking.He developed a local boatyard in Seattle and held the position of General Manager for 18 years.
