In process industry, both in pharmaceutical and food production, the correct method of measuring temperature is essential to maintain the proper functioning and safety of the installations and to guarantee the quality of production. Officine Orobiche has been active in the field of instrumentation for more than 60 years. RESISTENCE THERMOMETER TR In industrial processes temperature is one of the most important parameters. Therefore, for its measurement, it is necessary to make use of instruments which are simple but the same time highly resistant. The most widespread instrument for the measure of temperature is the resistance thermometer. The element that measure the temperature in this instrument is a length of platinum wrapped around a ceramic support and covered with a dust of Magnesium oxide MgO, that ensures protection and Galvanic isolation. The electrical resistance of the cable varies according to a very specific relation between resistance and temperature, the derived signal is precise and repeatable, with respect to the DIN 43760 – IEC 751; the nominal standard value is 100Ohm at 0°C

This Platinum resistance thermometer is called Pt 100 and it used to measure temperatures between -250°C and 850°C

Another instrument used to measure temperature is the thermocouple. Our thermocouples are designed for a very wide range of applications and guarantee solid, accurate and reliable measurement for temperatures between -200°C and 1800°C.

THERMOWELLS Thermowells are used for:

Protection of the thermometric element from corrosive effects

Protection from high pressure

Protection from the high speed of the fluid

Protection from vibrations

Allow the substitution of the thermometric element without halting the process

PERFORMANCES: The variants offered differ mainly in their designs:

Thermowells made by a filled bar stock or a tube with process connections flanged or threaded, flanged thermowells with Full Penetration welding

Procedure WPS/PQR

Operations with lapped and polished finish

MATERIALS: The materials used for the thermowells are: AISI304 / AISI316L / INCONEL / DUPLEX / SUPER DUPLEX / HASTELLOY / MONEL

LENGTH OF THE WETTED PART The part of the thermowell that goes from the bottom of the process connection (flanged or threaded) to the end of the Stem is the part intended to be inserted in the process fluid. Subsequently we will define “stem” the part of the thermowell introduced in the fluid; its shape varies with the characteristics of the process fluid.
