Key Priorities
• To provide the highest possible standards of education facilities
• To explore opportunities for collaboration and partnering of
schools whilst ensuring they retain their individual identity and
ethos on a shared site
• To maintain governance autonomy for each school within an
overall shared campus
About the scheme
• The Lisanelly Shared Educational Campus is a vitally important
project for the post-primary education provision in the Omagh area
• The scheme offers the potential for up to six post-primary schools
in Omagh to relocate to the former military barracks owned site
• It presents a unique opportunity to create a state-of-the-art, shared
educational campus in a mature parkland setting
•If outline planning permission for the scheme is secured by
December 2011, subject to receipt of funding from the Department of
Education, it is hoped that the schools could begin to open in 2015.
