TheOrthopaedicTraumaAssociation(OTA)willholdaComprehensiveFractureCourseforResidentsOctober9-11,2013inScottsdale,Arizona.ThiscourseisanexcellentopportunityforresidentstolearnfromhighlyskilledorthopaedictraumasurgeonswhowillbetravelingtoArizonatoparticipateintheOTA’s29thAnnualMeeting.Thecoursewillincludeafacultyofover144OTAmembers. It would be difficult to match the collective knowledge, experience, and commitment to teachingofthisoutstandingfaculty!

TheResidentsComprehensiveFractureCoursewillbepresentedinsix(6)separatesmallgroupmodules,withapproximatelytwentyresidentsand4experiencedfacultyeducatorspermodule.The modules will have a rapid-fire series of mini-lectures, an extensive open case-based discus-sion,videodemonstrationsoftechniques,andhands-onskillslabexercises.Moduleswillcoverfundamentalprinciplesoffracturecaredistributedamongsixtopics:articular,diaphyseal,foot&ankle,geriatrics,pediatrics,andpolytrauma/pelvis/acetabulum.

Thecourseofferspre-courseeducationon-demandvideomaterials,aswellasapre-test.Thesetoolsgaugethelearninglevelofthecourseparticipantssowecanofferthemostvaluablelearningexperience.Participantswillreceivelinksviaseparateemailswithinformationonhowtoaccessthepre-testandthepre-courseeducationvideosapproximately2-3weekspriortothecourse.

Although this course is targeted for PGY2 – PGY4’s, others who feel they will benefit will not be excluded.Attendanceislimitedto120residents,soearlyregistrationisrecommended.Thecourseprograminformationandanon-lineregistrationformarealsoavailableontheOTAwebsite:http://www.ota.org.
