INFANT BAPTISMS For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.

SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes. CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.

MARRIAGES Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to make the proper ar rangements for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK Dear Parishioners, This weekend we begin the Advent Season. Advent is a season of four weeks that we use to prepare for the celebration of Christmas. Christmas and the Christmas Season begins on the evening of December 24th which is Christmas Eve. The Advent Wreath is the liturgical symbol of the Season of Advent. At the 5:00pm Mass on Saturday, Dec 1st, the children’s choir of Our Lady of Fatima Cath-olic Elementary School sing and there is a living nativity with some real animals that process to the front of the school where the children will take their place around the manger and there will be the lighting of the Christmas tree. Christmas is a wonderful time of year. It is a time when we celebrate the birth of Christ, who is the light of the world. There is a lot of excitement in this celebration. This is good and should be so because Christ is our salvation who conquers darkness, sin, and death. As Catho-lics, we also must keep in mind, however, that excessive promotion by businesses in order to make money and profits can shift our main attention to giving or getting material gifts rather than to grow in our love for Christ and one another. Advent is a season of preparation that reminds us to take time to open our hearts to the light and love of Christ. It takes time and prayer to receive Christ and his graces more into our lives. There are customs of Advent that can help us to prepare. Some Advent customs are the Advent Calendar, Advent House, Jesse Tree and using the straws in the Manger. DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PÁRROCO

Queridos Feligreses:

Este fin de semana comenzamos la temporada de Adviento. Adviento es una temporada de cuatro semanas que usamos para prepararnos para la celebración de la Navidad. La temporada de Navidad y Navidad comienza la noche del 24 de diciembre, que es la víspera de Navidad. La Corona de Adviento es el símbolo litúrgico de la Temporada de Adviento. En la misa de las 5:00 pm del sábado 1 de diciembre, el coro de niños de la escuela pri-maria católica de Nuestra Señora de Fátima cantara y hay un nacimiento vivo con algunos animales reales que se dirigen al frente de la escuela donde los niños tomarán su lugar.al rededor del pesebre y allí empezará la iluminación del árbol de navidad. La Navidad es una época maravillosa del año. Es un momento en el que celebramos el nacimiento de Cristo, que es la luz del mundo. Hay mucha emoción en esta celebración. Esto es bueno y debería ser así porque Cristo es nuestra salvación quien conquista las tinieblas, el pecado y la muerte. Sin embargo, como católicos también debemos tener en cuenta que la promoción excesiva por parte de las empresas para ganar dinero y ganancias puede des-viar nuestra atención principal a dar u obtener regalos materiales en lugar de crecer en nuestro amor por Cristo y por los demás. El Adviento es una temporada de preparación que nos recuerda que debemos tomarnos el tiempo de abrir nuestros corazones a la luz y al amor de Cristo. Se necesita tiempo y oración para recibir a Cristo y sus gracias más en nuestras vidas. Hay costumbres de Ad-viento que pueden ayudarnos a prepararnos. Algunas costumbres de Adviento son el Calen-dario de Adviento, la Casa de Adviento, el Árbol Jesse y el uso de las pajitas en el Pesebre. VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE

Nuestra parroquia tiene el honor de invitarlos a la fiesta en honor a la Virgen de Guadalupe, que se realizará los dias martes 11 y miercoles 12 de diciembre. El martes a partir de las 7:00 PM, habra una Vigilia y a la medianoche

celebraremos la Santa Misa. Acompañados con los Mariachis le cantaremos a la Virgen las “Mañanitas”. El miercoles a las 6:00 PM habrá una Procesión con la Virgen seguida de la Santa Misa a las 7:00 PM.

Despues de la ceremonia están todos invitados a una recepción en el Salon Padre Donnelly de la escuela.

Our parish has the honor of inviting you to the party in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which will be held on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday December 12th.On Tuesday from 7:00 PM, there will be a Vigil and at midnight we will celebrate

the Holy Mass. Accompanied with the Mariachis we will sing the "Mañanitas". On Wednesday at 6:00 PM there will be a Procession with the Virgin followed by Holy Mass at 7:00 PM.

After the ceremony they are all invited to a reception in the Father Donnelly Hall of the school.

FIRST FRIDAY This Friday, Dec. 7th is the First Friday of the month. Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 A.M. rather than 8:30 Following Mass there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, conclud-ing with a Holy Hour and Benediction at 7:00 P.M., followed by Mass at 7:30 P.M. All are welcome.
