Marriages
Please schedule at least ONE YEAR in advance of your wedding. Pre-Cana and other
instruction sessions are required.
Sacraments of Healing
Please notify the parish office if someone is ill at home.
Baptisms
We request parents attend a Baptism Instruction Session before the birth of their
child. The Sacrament of Baptism is usually celebrated the third Sunday of each
month, except during Lent (when we will not celebrate the sacrament until Easter).
All Baptisms are scheduled in person at the rectory.
Parish Membership
All are welcome to join our Parish Family. Parish policy requires registration to
participate in Baptism, Marriage and Religion Classes. Please notify the office when
a change of address or move occurs.

Baptism Preparation
If you are expectant parents, please arrange to at-
tend our Baptismal Instruction Program before the
birth of your child. Baptismal Instruction and Bap-
tisms must be scheduled in person, at the rectory.
The next Baptism is scheduled for Sunday, Octo-
ber 18 at 2 p.m. The next Baptismal Instruction
Course is Sunday, November 8 at 2 p.m. Please

A Note From Sr. Mary Rose…
Sunday, September 20 is Catechetical Sunday.
The Catechists will be commissioned at the 10:45
a.m. Mass. CCD classes are in session. The Cate-
chists will dismiss the chil-
dren in grades 1, 2 and 3. I
ask that the parents bring
the children to church for the
10:45 Mass. Grades 8 and 9
will be taken to church by the
Catechists and parents can
meet them in the church for
the 10:45 Mass. I ask that the children in the
Thursday CCD classes and parents also attend the
Mass.
~The first Parent Meeting for all
CCD parents is scheduled for
Wednesday, September 30 at 7
p.m. in the Parish Hall. Please mark
your calendars and make every effort
for at least one parent to attend.
~We celebrate a children’s Mass every Sunday at
10:45 a.m. All children and parents are encouraged

Our Parish Bereavement Support
Group will meet on Wednes-
day, October 14 from 7:30 p.m.-9
p.m. in the Parish Hall. Our Support
Group is open to anyone (parishioner
or non-parishioner) who has suffered the loss of a
friend, relative or a loved one. There is no charge
and reservations are not required. All you need is an
open mind and an open heart. Let us try to help you
through this time of grief.

times, but we want to thank you, for being so con-
sistent all year round, with your generous giving.
No matter what time of the year it may be, you have
never stopped sharing with those less fortunate. We
thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Donations
to our Food Pantry consist of non-perishable foods:
such as soups, sauces, pasta, rice, cereals, dry milk,
canned vegetables, as well as toiletries (toothpaste,
toothbrushes, soap, etc.) Please check expiration
dates before donating food. If the food is out of date,
kindly discard.

Cathedral Basilica to Kick Off
National Tour of the
Relics of St. Maria Goretti
On Monday, September 21, the
Catholic Basilica of the Sacred Heart
(89 Ridge St., Newark) will be the
first stop on a national tour of the
Major Relics of St. Maria Goretti (the
Little Saint of Great Mercy). On the
21st, the faithful will have ample
opportunity to visit and venerate the Relics. Doors of
the Cathedral Basilica will open at 9 a.m. and will
remain open until 11 p.m. The full schedule for the
day will be:

Holy Family Italian Festival
Ciao! Holy Family Church will celebrate their 24th
Annual Italian Festival in honor of Maria
Santissima Addolorata (Our Lady of Sorrows) from
Thursday, September 24-Sunday, September
27. There will be lots of delicious homemade Italian
specialty foods, games, rides, music, and raffles all

Nutley CROP Hunger Walk The Nutley CROP Hunger Walk
will take place on Sunday, Oc-
tober 18 at 2 p.m. in the Nutley
Park Oval near the high school,
with registration beginning
at 1:30 p.m. The one hour walk is to help support food
pantries and programs in Nutley and around the
world. Walkers commit to completing the walk (rain or
shine) and collect donations from sponsors before or
after they walk. It is a way for people of all ages to
help make a difference and a meaningful family service
project. There will be music and fun activities, espe-
cially for the children, in a safe environment in the
Oval. The walk is being sponsored by Vincent Church
in partnership with the Nutley Department of Public

Feast of St. Therese
Please join in the celebration of
the feast of St. Therese of the
Child Jesus at Holy Face Monas-
tery (1697 Rt. 3 in Clifton) on
Thursday, October 1. There
will be all day Eucharistic adora-
tion, confessions (2-5 p.m.), Pray-
ing the Rosary with St. Therese
(4:30 p.m.), Holy Mass at 7:30
p.m., followed by a procession and distribution of
blessed roses. Fellowship, free food, and raffle will
follow in Abbot Gregori Hall. All are welcome! For
