– Transition and its consequences– Civil-military relations– Channels of representation– Quality of judicial system
• 3. Find a problem, puzzle, paradox• 4. Brainstorm about solutions• 5. Review general readings• 6. Develop a proposal (2-4 pp.)
BASIC FORMAT • Introduction (4-6 pp.)
– Nature and importance of theme– Central questions– Selection of country– Sources, data, methods
• Analysis (~15 pp.)– Organization of material around central questions– How and why things happened, not just what– Discrepancies among sources, if any
• Conclusions (2-3 pp.)– Answers to your questions– Needs for further research
• Bibliography (2+ pp.)
