Fifth Annual BLESSING OF PETS

Sun., Oct. 7th, 2:00 PM Spread the Word!

In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, we will once again meet on the steps of the church to bless animals of “all denominations” from approximately 2:00-2:30 PM on Sunday, October 7th. This Gathering of the Creatures Choir is an exciting way of seeing and appreciating God’s many blessings. Balloons, snacks will be featured. Please make sure each pet is leashed, caged or boxed, so we will not have a “run-away” celebration. You don’t have to own a pet to enjoy this blessing; anyone may attend. Please tell your friends and neighbors, especially the children.

OUR PARISH PLEDGE

We, who are “the living stones” of God’s Church, PROMISE TO:

– intentionally pray AND act to express our personal and communal REMORSE for victims of clergy abuse, – passionately pray AND act to bring to JUSTICE those who have permanently injured the innocent, and – intentionally pray AND act to guarantee SAFETY for everyone in our midst, especially the vulnerable …

as God is our witness!

Never Baptized? Would like to be Received into the Catholic Church? Baptized, but Never Received First Eucharist? Baptized, but Never Received Confirmation?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the usual way we welcome people. Anyone interested in participating in this process (Sep – Apr) contact Colleen Glazer, Parish Program Manager, [212-787-0634] and meet with Msgr. Sandi in the rectory at 7:00 PM, this coming Wednesday.

Don’t Believe Everything You See Online!

TODAY’S INSERT Monsignor Sandi has compiled a one-page sampler of Trustworthy Catholic Websites for Holy Trinity parishioners and included it with today’s Bulletin. Please take the time to read the leaflet and perhaps use these very useful sources of information to keep your Faith current, balanced and fresh!

Holy Trinity Acolytes: Altar Servers Parents of Boys and Girls,

Grade 5 and Older Training begins Sat., Oct. 6th and/or 7th

Starting in two weeks, boys and girls will be trained to act as Holy Trinity Altar Servers. It’s a great honor to assist the priest in the celebration of the Eucharist in the name of our parishioners. Serving Mass also displays an excellent model of prayer and good behavior for other children. Please consider it; give them the opportunity to shine!

Sophia, ChurchMouse Reporting unseen works of faith, hope and charity to uplift you.

In these trying times for the Church family, ponder these commanding words from St. Teresa of Avila (1515-1622), the faithful Spanish nun who helped to reform the Church in another very difficult time. Christ has no body but yours, No hands, no feet on earth but yours, Yours are the eyes with which he looks with compassion on the world, Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good, Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world, Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, Yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now but yours, No hands, no feet on earth but yours, Yours are the eyes with which he looks with compassion on the world. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

No bastan confes-iones fáciles.
