Means you need to complete an application form. Once we receive your application, we will invite you to an interview with the tutor. If you are successful, you will receive a letter including joining instructions.

Are you aged 16-18?Your full-time study programme which is funded by the government will be FREE for most students who are aged 16-18 on 31 August 2014. Please see our fees & discounts leaflet for details, or call 0151 551 7777.
Are you aged 19-23?Please note, some courses which are part funded by the government may be FREE for you if you do not have a Level 2 qualification. If you do have a Level 2 qualification, you will probably pay the discounted fee.
Are you aged 24+?If you are aged 24+, and studying at Level 3 or Level 4, you will need to pay the full fee, although you may be able to apply for the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan; please visit www.gov.uk/advanced-learning-loans for details, call us on 0151 551 7777 and we would be happy to help you.
If you take out a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan for an Access to Higher Education course, you complete this and you subsequently progress on to and successfully complete a HNC/D, Foundation Degree or Degree course, your 24+ Advanced Learning Loan fees on the Access programme will be waived.
Higher Education (HE) CoursesFor Higher Education (HE) courses, student loans and grants for maintenance are available to most students undertaking a full-time degree, foundation degree or HND programme. Student loans will be available for part-time degree, foundation degree, HNC and HND programmes. To check for eligibility and to apply for funding, visit www.gov.uk/browse/education/student-finance

Our course fees at Wirral Met College include tuition and examination fees, unless otherwise stated. Please see the table opposite, but note, this table does not apply to courses designated as Higher Education or Full Price, as no funding is received from the Education Funding Agency/Skills Funding Agency for these courses.
Paying FeesYou can pay for your fees by credit or debit card, cheque or cash. All students paying their own fees will be expected to make a contribution to the enrolment fee at the time they enrol (enrolments at main site only). This will be £80 or the full balance, if this is less than £80. Please note that if no fees are payable on your course, you will not be expected to make a payment at enrolment.
Fee Payment Options
• Pay total fee at enrolment;
• Make initial payment at enrolment, and then pay the balance within two weeks;
• Make initial payment at enrolment, then pay remaining balance by direct debit instalments. (Failure to meet a direct debit instalment will result in the full balance of fees becoming due immediately);
• Students whose fees are sponsored by employers, agents, local authorities or other organisations must provide written evidence of this at enrolment. A letter must contain contact details of who will pay the fees, and the address to which the invoice should be sent. In the absence of this evidence, the enrolling student will be liable for fees. When an employer or other agency agrees to pay these fees, they become liable for them in full.

Are you unemployed or facing redundancy?
Are you studying TUC courses?Are you currently serving in the British Armed Forces, or you have left in the past 10 years after completing 4 or more years of service, or were you medically discharged after completing basic training? Funding is available for students aged 19 and over who are studying up to and including Level 2 and for the first full Level 3 course. (If you are serving/have served in the British Armed Forces, and you want to study on a Level 3 course, you must contact Enhanced Learning Credits Admin Service).

Interested in doing an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship allows you to develop your skills, knowledge and your career, whilst gaining qualifications. You’ll be employed by a company and get paid from the day you start.
Wirral Met College offers over 100 apprenticeships to suit most career paths across a variety of sectors, ranging from Accountancy and Engineering to Optical Retail and Property Services.
The intermediate apprenticeship at Level 2 equates to 5 GCSEs (A*-C) and the Advanced Level Apprenticeship at level 3 equates to 2 A Levels. You’ll then be able to progress to Higher Apprenticeships at Level 4.

We have a team of over 60 highly trained and qualified staff, including Specialist Tutors, Communication Support Workers and Learning Support Assistants.
We work with students in every subject area, and at every level from Entry Level to Higher Education.
