PLANNING STUDY REPORT! Our Feasibility Study Report is completed and is now under diocesan review for “family commitment” eligibility. The majority of parishioners expressed optimism about the project with regards to the construction of Our New Parish Center.
We are grateful to all those who came in for an interview or filled out a survey. We truly appreciate your input! The findings presented represent analysis of the opinions expressed by 298 parish households: 32 households personally interviewed, 250 households that responded via the Planning Study Survey and 16 that responded via the online survey. The full report is available to the entire parish for review at the parish office.
Please keep in mind that we have outgrown are our facilities here at St. Polycarp and it is time to better meet the needs of our multi-cultural parish, now and in the future. I look forward to sharing more information with you in January, 2018!

My fellow priests and I, as well as our deacons, are very saddened to have to tell you, once again, that Our Lord Jesus (who is truly present in the consecrated Host) is being desecrated (defiled) by some person or persons receiving Holy Communion at one of our Masses. Someone is leaving a Host underneath the pews, thrown on the floor.
We do not know if the person is young or old, Catholic or not, of sound mind or not. Nor do we know at which Mass this extreme disrespect for our Lord is happening. Such an action of disrespect is an egregious offense (not excluding that of excommunication from the Catholic Church).
Please be aware of your surroundings, what’s happening around you, and join us in prayer and reparation for this grave sin. Let us beg the Lord that this sacrilege which is happening in our church will end.

FAITH FORMATION PARENT CLASSES Our bilingual parents are invited to stay for prayer, fellowship and Bible study in room 18 while the students are in class on Saturdays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
Casino trips are Family Support Center's only fundraisers. These funds, and donations from the community, are our only source of income. FSC distributes food to those in need every Monday and Wednesday. We also help with financial aid, on a limited basis, for those who need emergency assistance. We need your help to continue in this ministry: Last year we distributed food to over 16,000 individuals!
Please, if you are able, consider joining us on a trip. You will have a good time and, at the same time, be performing a Corporal work of Mercy. We appreciate your consideration!

AT WHAT PART OF THE MASS DOES THE BREAD AND WINE BECOME THE BODY AND BLOOD OF JESUS?
The practice of ringing bells at the Consecration became an option after Vatican II, the omission of the bells being justi-fied in the assertion that since the Mass is now said in the lan-guage of the parishioners, they should be aware of what is happening and are not in need of bells to tell them.
Recent questions like “At what part of the Mass does the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus?” cause us to revisit the reinstitution of the bells during the Consecra-tion at St. Polycarp Masses.
Ringing of the bells at the Consecration has been left to the discretion of the pastor and our pastor Fr. Michael St. Paul has listened to parishioners who attended the New Evangelization socials and has agreed to reinstitute the ringing of bells at the Consecration starting at this year’s Christmas Masses.
The General Instruction of the Roman Missal (2000, #150) stipulates that a bell may be rung regularly at two places dur-ing the Mass: First, “a little before the consecration, the min-ister may ring a bell as a signal to the people.” Here the bell is normally rung at the time of the epiclesis in the Eucharis-tic Prayer. At this point, the priest joins his hands and places them over the bread and wine to be consecrated. He prays for the Holy Spirit to come down upon the gifts so that they may become the Body and Blood of our Lord. The ringing of the bell alerts the congregation to the calling down of the Ho-ly Spirit and prepares them for the consecration that immedi-ately follows.
Second, “according to local custom, a minister also rings the bell at the showing of both the Eucharistic Bread and the chal-ice.” After the priest says the words of consecration, he ele-vates the Sacred Host or the chalice of Precious Blood. The ringing of the bell again alerts the faithful that transubstantiation has taken place and that the Body and Blood of our Lord is truly present on the altar.

Papás y padrinos, deberan asistír el primer Domingo del mes a las 10:00 am para registrar a su hijo(a) y al mísmo tiempo para tomar la clase requerida. Padres: Traer una copia del certificado de nacimiento de su hijo(a). No traiga el original. Padrinos: Traer una copia del acta de matrimonio de la Iglesia donde se casaron. El Segundo Domingo de Cada mes es la Ceremonia del Bautísmo a las 2:00 pm. Habra una segunda platica el Viernes despues del Bautizo a las 7:00pm. Costo $50 por niño; $25 si solamente toma la plática

MENSAJE IMPORTANTE
Mis compañeros sacerdotes y yo, así como nuestros diáconos, estamos muy tristes de tener que decirles, una vez más, que Nuestro Señor Jesús (que está verdaderamente presente en la Hostia consagrada) está siendo profanado (contaminado) por alguna persona o personas que reciben Sagrada Comunión en una de nuestras misas. No sabemos si la persona es joven o mayor, católica o no, de mente sana o no. Tampoco sabemos en qué misa está ocurriendo esta extrema falta de respeto hacia nuestro Señor. Tal acción de falta de respeto es una ofensa atroz (sin excluir la de la excomunión de la Iglesia Católica).
Tenga en cuenta su entorno, lo que sucede a su alrededor, y únase a nosotros en oración y reparación por este grave pecado. Rogamos al Señor que este sacrilegio que está sucediendo en nuestra iglesia termine.

Nuestro informe del estudio de factibilidad se completó y ahora está bajo revisión diocesana para la elegibilidad de "compromiso familiar". La mayoría de los feligreses expresaron optimismo sobre el proyecto con respecto a la construcción de Nuestro Nuevo Centro Parroquial.
Agradecemos a todos los que vinieron a una entrevista o completaron una encuesta. ¡Realmente apreciamos su aporte! Los hallazgos presentados representan el análisis de las opiniones expresadas por 298 hogares parroquiales: 32 hogares entrevistados personalmente, 250 hogares que respondieron a través de la Encuesta de Estudio de Planificación y 16 que respondieron a través de la encuesta en línea. El informe completo está disponible para toda la parroquia para su revisión en la oficina de la parroquia.

Giáo xứ Thánh Polycarp may mắn có nhiều nền văn hóa và sự sống động của các chương trình mục vụ khác nhau của các cộng đồng giáo dân, điều này đem đến một làn gió thánh thiện chào đón mọi người, đặc biệt là giới trẻ, là những người mong muốn có một đời sống đạo sâu xa hơn với Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Như là những môn đệ của Chúa, chúng ta giúp cho những người nghèo đói, đây là cuộc hành trình đức tin dành cho các anh chị em chúng ta trên con đường sống đạo mới với niềm hy vọng và lòng can đảm, trong một công việc bác ái an toàn và vui vẻ.

25 tháng 12 rơi vào ngày Thứ Hai trong tuần. Do đó, chương trình Lễ Chúa Nhật Thứ 4 Mùa Vọng và Lễ Mừng Chúa Giáng Sinh của Cộng đoàn được cử hành như sau: * Thứ Bảy ngày 23 tháng 12 năm 2017, Cộng đoàn cử hành Thánh lễ Chúa Chúa nhật Thứ 4 Mùa vọng lúc 7giờ tối như thường lệ. * Chúa Nhật ngày 24 tháng 12 năm 2017, không có Thánh lễ Chúa nhật lúc 4giờ chiều như thường lệ, thay vào đó vào lúc 8giờ tối có trình diễn hoạt cảnh và Thánh ca Giáng Sinh, sau đó Cộng đoàn cử hành Thánh Lễ Vọng Giáng Sinh. * Thứ Hai ngày 25 tháng 12 năm 2017, Cộng đoàn cử hành Thánh lễ Mừng Chúa Giáng Sinh vào lúc 4giờ chiều. Sau Thánh lễ có phát quà Giáng Sinh cho các em nhỏ tại sân cuối Thánh đường. (Xin theo dõi chương trình lễ Giáng Sinh của Giáo xứ trong bản tin Bulletin của Giáo xứ và chương trình lễ Giáng Sinh tiếng Việt tại các Cộng đoàn trong tờ Hiệp Thông) Xin lưu ý: Vì Lễ Giáng Sinh là lễ trọng bà buộc, nên người tín hữu phải tham dự cả 2 Thánh lễ Chúa Nhật Thứ 4 Mùa Vọng và lễ Giáng Sinh thì mới giữ trọn luật buộc. 8- Giáo xứ dụ trù thay kiếng màu các cửa sổ trong Thánh đường.- Giáo xứ đang kêu gọi Giáo dân trong Giáo xứ đóng góp tài chánh đễ thực hiện thay kiếng màu các cửa sổ trong Thánh đường. Phí tổn cho một cửa sổ từ 7,000 đến 9,000 US Dollars, tùy theo hình ảnh của kiếng màu gắn vào cửa. Cộng đoàn Việt nam dự trù sẽ đóng góp 1cửa sổ với hình Thánh Anrê Dũng Lạc Tử Đạo Việt Nam, với chi phí là 9,000 US Dollars. Xin các Hội đoàn – Đoàn Thể và các Ban, cùng Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cố gắng hy sinh đóng góp tài chánh cho Ban Thường Vụ đúc kết cho đủ số tài chánh và chuyển về Giáo xứ để thực hiện cửa theo yêu cầu của Cộng đoàn. Chúng ta đã hoàn thành kết quả báo cáo về nghiên cứu thật khả thi, và hiện nay đang được giáo phận xem lại về tính hợp lệ của sự “cam kết của gia đình”. Đa số các giáo dân bày tỏ sự lạc quan về dự án liên quan tới việc xây dựng Trung tâm Giáo xứ mới của chúng ta.
Chúng tôi thành thật cảm ơn tất cả những quý vị đã tham gia phỏng vấn hoặc điền bản khảo sát. Chúng tôi thật sự đánh giá cao sự đóng góp của quý vị! Các kết quả qua trình bày và góp ý của 298 hộ gia đình giáo dân: trong đó phỏng vấn 32 hộ gia đình, 250 hộ gia đình đã trả lời thông qua bản Nghiên Cứu Kế hoạch và có 16 người trả lời thông qua khảo sát trực tuyến. THÔNG BÁO CỘNG ĐOÀN.
1- Giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng.- Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa lưu ý: Giáo xứ có giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng từ 3giờ30 đến 5giờ vào mỗi chiều Thứ Bảy hằng tuần. Xin kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng đến tham dự giờ chầu Thánh Thể nêu trên. 2- Giờ lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót của Giáo xứ.- Sau Thánh lễ 8giờ30 sáng từ Thứ Hai đến Thứ Bảy trong tuần, Giáo xứ có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Anh, và vào lúc 3giờ chiều mỗi ngày, Cộng đoàn có lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót bằng tiếng Việt tại Thánh đường (hoặc tại Đài Đức Mẹ). Riêng chiều Thứ Sáu có thêm khấn Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng tham dự. 3- Buổi Tĩnh Tâm của Hội Đồng Mục Vụ.- Nhân Mùa Vọng năm nay, Cộng đoàn có tổ chức một buổi Tĩnh tâm đặc biệt dành cho các thành viên trong Hội Đồng Mục Vụ của Cộng đoàn. Buổi tĩnh tâm được thực hiện từ 9giờ sáng đến 1giờ30 trưa Chúa Nhật ngày 17 tháng 12 năm 2017 tại Hôi trường Giáo xú, do cha Đặng Văn Chín hiện là tuyên úy Hiệp Sĩ Knight Columbus phụ trách hướng dẫn và giảng thuyết. Kính mời quí thành viên của Hội Đồng Mục Vụ của Cộng đoàn, gồm Ban Chấp Hành các hội đoàn - đoàn thể và các Ban trong Cộng đoàn, cùng các thành viên Ban Thường Vụ sắp xếp thời gian cùng đến tham dự. 4- Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ.- Giáo xứ sẽ Rửa Tội bằng tiếng Việt cho các em nhỏ trong Giáo xứ vào lúc 2giờ30 trưa Chúa Nhật ngày 24 tháng 12 năm 2017. Lớp hướng dẫn cho Cha Mẹ và người Đỡ Đầu từ 7 đến 9giờ tối Thứ Ba ngày 19 tháng 12 năm 2017 tại phòng sinh hoạt trước đài Đức Mẹ. Xin ghi danh nơi người phụ trách. 5- Đêm Thánh Ca của Giáo xứ tại Thánh đường.- Giáo xứ có tổ chức một buổi tối trình diễn Thánh Ca Giáng Sinh đầu tiên của Giáo xứ vào lúc 7giờ30 tối Thứ Sáu ngày 22 tháng 12 năm 2017 tại Thánh đường. Kính mời toàn thể Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa cùng đến tham dự. Xin lưu ý, Cộng đoản Việt nam vẫn có Thánh lễ lúc 6giờ30 tối Thứ Sáu ngày 22 tháng 12 năm 2017 như thường lệ. Riêng ngày 22 trong tháng là ngày Giáo xứ chầu Thánh Thể, Thánh đường sẽ đặt Hào quang Thánh Thể sau Thánh lễ 8giờ30 sáng để Giáo dân đến Chầu Thánh Thể cho tới 6giờ chiều, trước Thánh lễ tiếng Việt. Do đó Cộng đoàn Việt nam vẫn có giờ chầu Thánh Thể lúc 3giờ chiều do Hội Cầu Nguyện phụ trách. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. 6- Cộng đoàn thực hiện 1000 cuốn lịch để tạng giáo dân trong Cộng đoàn.- Cũng như các năm trước, Ban Thường Vụ của Cộng đoàn đã thực hiện 1,000 cuốn lịch Công giáo năm 2018 để gởi đến mỗi gia đình trong Cộng đoàn. Tờ lịch này sẽ được phát hành vào 2ngày Thứ Bảy và Chúa Nhật ngày 30 và 31 tháng 12 năm 2017. Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa đón nhận để theo dõi các sinh hoạt của Giáo hội trong năm 2018. 7- Chương trình Lễ Chúa Nhật Thứ 4 Mùa Vọng và Giáng Sinh năm 2017 của Cộng đoàn .- Năm nay ngày lễ Giáng Sinh
THÔNG BÁO QUAN TRỌNG Các linh mục cũng như các thầy phó tế trong giáo xứ chúng ta rất buồn khi phải nói với quý vị một lần nữa rằng Chúa Giêsu (Đấng hiện diện thật sự trong Thánh Thể được thánh hiến) đang bị một người hoặc nhiều người xúc phạm (làm ô uế) đến Mình Thánh Chúa trong các Thánh Lễ của chúng ta. Người nào đó đã ném Mình Thánh Chúa xuống sàn nhà dưới các ghế băng. Chúng ta không biết người đó trẻ hay già, người Công Giáo hay ngoại đạo, người có bệnh tâm thần hay không. Chúng ta cũng không biết sự thờ ơ không tôn trọng này đối với Chúa xảy ra sao trong Thánh lễ nào. Hành động thiếu tôn trọng như vậy là vi phạm nghiêm trọng (không loại trừ việc sẽ bị truy tố bởi Giáo hội Công giáo). Với tình yêu và lòng kính trọng Thiên Chúa chúng ta, xin mọi người cố gắng chú ý đến môi trường xung quanh, những gì đang xảy ra xung quanh quý vị, và xin hiệp thông cầu nguyện để đền bù cho tội lỗi nghiêm trọng này. Chúng ta hãy cầu xin Chúa thương và làm cho việc xúc phạm đang xảy ra trong nhà thờ của chúng ta sớm chấm dứt. Cha Michael St. Paul
