READINGS FOR THIS SUNDAY THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT
First Reading: Exodus 17:3-7 This story from Exodus reveals that the Israelites, after their escape from Egypt, cast all blame for their sufferings on Moses. In this instance, they were dying of thirst. When Moses appealed to the Lord, the Lord directed Moses to strike a rock and water would gush forth. Second Reading: Romans 5:1-2, 5-8 Paul reminds the Romans that because Christ died for all people, they are acceptable in God’s sight. Gospel: John 4:5-42 Jesus converses with the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well. When Jesus indicates that whoever drinks from the water He gives will never be thirsty again, the woman immediately answers, “Give me this water, sir...”. Jesus then reveals that she has had five husbands and tells her that He is the Messiah. The woman believes Jesus and proclaims this news to all the townspeople, who believe her and come to see Jesus.

Catholic Relief Services Collection
Next weekend, our parish will take up the Catholic Relief Services Collection. This Collection supports six Catholic agencies that touch more than 100 million lives around the world. The funds from this Collection provide food to the hungry, support to displaced refugees, and show Christ’s love and respect to all people. Next week, please give generously to the Catholic Relief Services Collection and help Jesus in disguise.

There is no parking in the school parking lot between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, for the safety and well being of your children. FUNDRAISING REQUEST My name is Anthony Biello. I am a parishioner at St. Simon Stock and a junior at Bishop Eustace School. This June I will go to Texas and New Mexico to serve in the Border Servant Corps, a program focusing on education about border issues.
