Sometimes the Lord uses one person to prophe

If 1 were you, 1 would not criticize the well mean

If I have a Spiritual gift can I operate it anytiI want to? I read where the spirit of the proph
is subject to the prophets. Does this mean tha
can use my gift at will?
Itis true that the Bible says that the spirits of
prophets are subject to the prophets, but this d
not mean that. the Spirit of God is subject to
prophets. The prophets must all be subject to
Spirit of God. The gifts of the Spirit are operated
the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 12:11.) They are not opera
by our own power or holiness. (Acts 3:12.) We sho

Chapter II
Can we have a revival before we get the sin out
of the church?
For years some evangelists have gone from church
to church hammering the saints over the head and
saying, "We are getting the saints ready for a revival.
Nothing can be done until the saints are ready, in line,
and are of one mind and one accord." Then about the
the time their poor heads are about healed, another
preacher comes along hitting them in the same spot,
accusing' them because there were no results in the
services. In many cases they were told that Sister S
must pull off her wedding ring, Sister J. should throw
away her powder, and Brother M. should ask his wife
to forgive him.
One time when I went to Louisiana to hold a revival,
a certain sister said during service, "We should not
try to have a revival as long as the church is in the
condition it is in." I told her that was the very time
they needed a revival. That sister thought negatively,
and sat back wondering how people could receive the
Holy Ghost every night, and. most every day for
seventy-five days in succession. If God must have a
perfect church before He can send a revival, and each
member is a part of His Church, then no church will
ever have a revival.
I went to a church with about a thousand members
to hold a revival. A thousand people were in the
building, while hundreds were turned away. About
forty people were filled with the Holy Ghost each
night. The pastor was a good man of God. He had a
private interview with me. He said, "Brother Grant,
I have been preaching for about forty years. Now I
have learned something: I have taught and- believed
that the church had to be in unity before anything
could happen. In this church my general superintendent
and a lady Sunday School teacher have been caught in
to be healed that he said with a loud voice, "Stand
upright on thy feet" (Acts 14:10.) It was after the
fortune-teller girl followed Paul around three days
that he was led by the Spirit to command the devil
to come out in the name of Jesus. It is when a man
tries to operate the Spiritual gifts with his own spirit,
without the leading of the Lord that he sees no results.
I have been prayed for to be healed of sugar diabetes.
I have seen people prayed for and not receive instant
healing. Must I keep taking insulin or not?
My advice to you is to be led by the Spirit, and d~
what you think is best. Itdepends on what you think
is best. It depends on what you think and not whatI think. Itis according to your faith. If you still have
sugar diabetes, perhaps you should continue to take
insulin. If you do not have sugar diabetes of course,
you don't need to take insulin. A crippled person walks
on crutches until he is healed; then he does not need
the crutches any longer.
There have been many people instantly healed of
sugar diabetes. We have many wonderful testimonies
in our files.
A lady in Brother Nelson's church in Dallas was
prayed for to be healed of sugar diabetes. In about
three minutes a purple paste came out all over her
body. She ran from one person to another saying that
the insulin was coming out through her skin! We saw
the purple-looking paste on her arms, face, hands and
neck. The next day she had not washed it off. She
went from house to house telling her neighbors, "God
has healed me of sugar diabetes. See how the insulin
is coming out!"
That caused quite a stir! I went to a doctor friend
in Dallas and told him the story. He said it was quite
possible, as that would be the color of insulin after
it came in contact with the blood stream. That has
been many months ago. I was back by Brother Nelson's
church a few nights ago. That lady is still telling
about her wonderful healing!

the basement in an immoral act, even while services
were going on in the auditorium.
This pastor knew what was going on among his
members, so he did not believe anything could be done,
because he thought negatively. I did not know what
was going on, so I believed. I thought positively. That
general superintendent and the Sunday School teacher
both prayed through one night and were filled with the
Spirit, after they saw what the Lord was doing. It is
not the condition of the people, but our negative way
of thinking, which hinders the workings of the Lord.
Sister J. does not have to believe for you to be
healed. Brother G. does not have to ask his wife toforgive him before you can be saved. Itdoes not requireSister S.'s faith for you to receive the Holy Ghost.
It is according to YOUR faith.
People were saved and healed in Jesus' ministry
even while Judas was walking near by. Simon believed
and was baptised, but his heart was not right in the
sight of God. That did not keep other people from
being delivered from sin and the devil. Simon did not
prevent other people from being filled with the Holy
Ghost when Peter and John came down to Samaria.
Recently I was in a church where there were six
different brands of full gospel people, all teaching that
the other group 'was wrong. People did not all believe
alike at the household of Cornelius. Some ate pork and
others did not, but they were all filled with the HolyGhost. It is not altogether the condition of other
people, but according to the way you believe. Even
if your husband does not pay tithes you can be healed
if you believe. It is according to YOUR faith.
Chapter III
Will sin in the church hinder the' progress of
that church?
In the first place, there is no sin in God's holy
Church. All sin is outside the Church. There is sin
-4-
in the organized, local church sometimes, which will
c~use a reproach and hinder the progress and the
testimony of that local church.
Even in the Old Testament days, when certain
battles were not won because of sin, that did not keep
people from being proselyted into the Jewish nation
and becoming a Jew. Even in our day, when some
professing church member does not live right, that
does not keep a repenting sinner from being saved.
Today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted
time. Whosoever will may come. If a man wants to
be saved and is ready to quit sin, I will not tell himthat he cannot be saved because "Uncle Cha~lie" dips
snuff. I will tell him that "he that comes to the Lord
He will not cast out." Jesus never told anyone that he
could not receive forgiveness of sin because Judas
was a hypocrite.
At one time there was a saying that the parents
had eaten sour grapes and the children's teeth were
on edge. But in this day of grace, when the law of
grace supersedes the law written on tables of stone;
when the law of faith is stronger than the law of
sowing and reaping, everyone shall be put to deathfor his own sins. The father's sin will not keep the
son from being saved. The unbelief of the mother
will not keep the daughter from being saved if the
daughter believes. This is an individual affair with
God. (Jer. 31:29).
In a revival I do not tell a dying lady with a cancer
that she cannot be healed because the deacon back-
slid and ran off with another woman. Jesus did not tell
the woman with an issue of blood that she would have
to die because James and John had the wrong spirit or
because Peter had a devil. Even in the same letter
which stated that a man took his father's wife, Paul
told that same church that they came behind in no
gift; that people would fall down on their face and
report that God was with them of a truth; that they
-5-

could yet pray and turn that man over to Satan, and
yet have a revival. They did not let that one man's
sin hinder the revival. Even in our day we can band
together and pray that God will either deliver a man
that sins or get him out of the way and let the revival
keep going! I have no time for these "sincere people"
who have been taught that we can have no revival
because they get their eyes on certain people that
back-slide and go to the devil. It is not the sin of certain individuals that hinders
the revival fires from burning. Itis the negative think-
ing and believing of certain people who believe the
power of the devil is stronger than the power of God.
They have more faith in the devil than they do in God.
If the church must be perfect before we can get
people saved, filled, and healed, and if the church in-
cludes all the members - backsliders, hypocrites, and
snuff-dippers - then we will never have anyone saved,
filled or healed! The church would be dead, dead, dead!
Not because God does not have the power, but because
too many leaders stand up and preach doubt instead
of faith. Far too many people stand up and preach
for people not to expect anyone to be saved or healed
until we all "get in one mind and one accord." Even
on the day of Pentecost they were not all in one mind
and in one accord. Even you and your wife may not
get your minds together, but you can yet get yourhearts together and agree together in prayer. And
there is power in agreement, whether it is for bad or
for good. There is nothing so bad or so good, but
talking about it makes it more so.
Chapter IV
Is it all right to receive members into the church
on confession?
Yes, it is all right to receive members into the churc.h
that way if they believe with their heart. "By their
fruit ye shall know them." In the fifth chapter of
-6-
Galatians we see listed both the fruit of the Spirit
and the fruit of the flesh. Paul says that if we have
the fruit of the flesh we cannot see the kingdom of
heaven. Jesus says that one tree cannot bring forth
both evil and good fruit. Itmust be either good or evil.
We need ministers in the church today who can
discern spirits, in order not to fill the churches with
unregenerated people. Paul set certain people who
were spiritual in the church to judge. (1 Cor. 14:29)
As the pastor started to receive members into the
church at the close of our revival in Waco, Texas, the
Lord showed me that one man was not saved. Immedi-
ately, I went to him and prayed. He was delivered
from sin and went ahead and joined the church. In
one tent meeting a lady came forward and was healed.
Immediately she was saved before about two thousand
people. She said it was the first time she was ever
saved, although she was a member of a denomina-
tional church.
Just last Sunday in Manila, a good number came
forward and were saved. Then one lady told us that
it was the first time she was ever saved, although she
had belonged to a leading protestant church in that
city. Some members who have not been really born
again go back to serving Buddha.
John the Baptist would not accept people on confes-sion or by baptism. He told them that they would have
to bring forth fruit to prove that they had repented.
On the plane recently near Tokyo, I was talking to
some university teachers. I took them aside one by
one and asked them if they believed in Jesus. Each
said they thought Jesus was a good man. Then they
agreed that if Jesus was a good man He told the truth.
I showed them that Jesus claimed to be Christ and
Lord. Each confessed that he believed that He was
what He claimed to be, but I saw that they did not
have a change of heart. I did not count them as con-
verts. They already had five hundred gods. They

thought one more wouldn't hurt anything. There was
no conviction. There was no repentance.
When Phillip went down to Samaria and preached
Christ unto them many of the people were delivered
from devils and disease. There was great joy in the
city. Some today claim to be saved, but they have
not received joy, which is the fruit of the Spirit.
Before the disciples went to the upper room to receive
the Holy Ghost they had great joy. (Luke 24 :27).
Some people claim to have received the Holy Ghost
because they received great joy, but the disciples re-
ceived great joy before they received the Holy Ghost.
After the Samaritans received great joy, Peter and
John laid hands on them and they received the Holy
Ghost Baptism. One man slipped by Phillip, but not
by Peter. By the gift of discerning of spirits Peter
knew that his heart was not right with God, although
he believed and was baptized. (Acts 8:13). He was
almost taken in on "confession."
It is impossible to know how many thousands of
people received Christ in the Philippine revival. We
did not leave them as they confessed. We took them
and "showed them the way of the Lord more per-
fectly." (Acts 18:26). We taught them to give up
their idols. They received great joy. Then we laid
hands on them and saw them receive the Baptism
of the Spirit. During this time I saw that two of
them had not really been born again, although they
had confessed, and were seeking the Holy Ghost.
As I went to them God showed me their heart was
not right. Immediately they were delivered from sin
and were tilled with the Spirit.
A few mornings, faith seemed to rise high enough
for them to receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost
instantly. We prayed for a few deaf mutes, blind
people and those who were paralyzed, and when they
were instantly healed hundreds were filled with the
Spirit immediately. So that was more than just a
hand-raising, church-joining revival where people are
taken in on "confession." We wiII not know the results
until we tell it to each other in the great beyond.
Chapter V
Dear Brother Grant:
I believe in divine healing, but what bothers me is
this: Why is it that so many people who are Christians
die without being healed '!
SOLUTION: You can equally ask the following
questions: Why do so many Christians die in poverty
when the Lord promises to supply all our need'? Whydo Christians many times die before their time, when
the Lord promises to fulfill our days and give us
long life? Exodus 2: 3 :26. Why do many Christians
suffer agonies of death, when Jesus has tasted death
for every man? Heb. 2 :9. When He has promised
that we can go to sleep in Jesus without the sting of
death? Why do many Christians die without receiving
the Baptism of the Holy Ghost that is promised to
all? Acts 2 :39. There is a common answer: It is
because they do not lay hold on these promises by
faith and take what God has purchased for them. It
is because they do not take advantage of this promise.
"And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer,
believing, ye shall receive" - Matt. 21:22.
Dear Brother Grant:I have the gifts of healing, but sometimes I don't
see any results. Since the Bible says that "the spirit
of the prophets are subject to the prophets," I under-
stand that if we have a gift we should use it when
we want to. .SOLUTION: That is right. The spirit of the prophet
is subject to the prophet, but the Spirit of God is not
subject to the prophet. We should be subject to the
Spirit of God. That means we should not use our own
spirit in any operation of any of the gifts. We should
keep our own spirit in subjection, and not try to
-8--9-

conduct a service with methods, talents, or traditions
of men. We should wait on the Spirit of God.
"... let us prophesy according to the proportion of
faith." Or if it is ministry, let us wait on our minis-terings etc. Romans 12:6.
Anytime we try to operate the Word of Knowledge,
the Word of Wisdom, Discerning of Spirits, Gifts of
Healing, Working or Miracles, Tongues, or Interpre-
tation, or any other gifts with our own spirit, we bring
a reproach on the work of God. God does not give us
all of His knowledge. He only gives us a Word of
Knowledge. We should tell people only what God tells
us and stop at that! We must not use the gifts. Thegifts must use us.
Dear Brother Grant:
I came to your service one night to be prayed for but. ,you did not pray for me. I'm puzzled and disappointed.
SOLUTION: Sister, you should have come back the
next night. If the Lord will forgive me for trying to
please people, I'll never try to please anyone but the
Lord from now on. I'll not try to operate the gifts,
but I'll try to let the gifts operate me.
Last Friday night I was in Clovis, New Mexico in a
church service. The Lord gave me a message on sal-
vation. I preached it. The Lord confirmed the Word
with signs following. Several were saved, I did not
have a healing line. Saturday night the Lord gave mea message concerning the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
I preached it. Faith rose. Several were filled with
the Holy Ghost.
Sunday morning, to my surprise, I preached a mes-
sage to backsliders. Scores came forward to dedicate
their lives to the Lord. Sunday night I started to
preach a message, but the Lord began to heal people.
A woman arose and said that she was healed of a
blind eye the night before. (Although I did not pray
for her, she contacted the Lord and was healed.) In
a few minutes fifty-eight people testified that they
were healed in the Sunday night service. Some of them
had deaf ears for thirty or more years. They could
hear perfectly! A girl who had not breathed through
her nose properly all her life was healed. Then scores
of people came forward to be saved and filled. They
were there until almost midnight receiving the
Holy Ghost.
I hope I can always say, "My Father worketh
hitherto, and I work. I can do nothing of myself,
but whatsoever things He deeth, these also doeth
I likewise."
Chapter VIMay only one gift work at a time?
The gifts of the Spirit may work parallel with each
other. For instance, sometimes a man may receive
the Word of Knowledge. Then he also needs the Word
of Wisdom to know what to do with the Word of
Knowledge. God may show me the secrets of some
man's life. I could act unwise and tell it all publicly
to the whole audience. This could greatly embarrass
the man, or maybe cause a broken home or separation.
God reveals His secrets to them that fear Him. But
if we reveal those secrets unwisely then He may not
trust us with secrets in the future.
Last Sunday night in Las Cruces, New Mexico the
Word of Knowledge made me to know that someonewas present who could not breathe through the nose.
A lady came forward who had not breathed through
the nose properly all her life. She was healed by the
Gifts of Healing. People rejoiced when they heard
her breathe over the microphone! Then suddenly a
man came for prayer to be healed. By the Word of
Knowledge God showed me he was not saved. By the
Gifts of Miracles he 'was delivered from the bondage
of sin, and saved.
The Gifts of Healing will heal a man gradually, but
it takes the Gift of miracles to heal him instantly.
Is this true '!

Many people have been greatly confused by the
above statement, which builds doubt and uncertainty
in the hearts of people. This statement is made by
ministers who are afraid that God is not going to
work. They are already defeated.
Any time the Spirit of God makes a man well that
is the Spiritual Gifts of Healing in action, whether
the healing takes place suddenly or gradually. If nature
heals you that is natural healing. The Gifts of Healing
are not something that is little, weak, puny, and pitiful!
The Gifts of Healing will heal all manner of sickness
and all manner diseases or affliction.
All of the gifts of the Spirit are miracles. The Giftof Miracles includes any miracle that is not included
in the other eight gifts, such as casting out devils,
-laying hands on people and seeing them filled with
the Holy Ghost, raising the dead, dividing the Red
Sea, making the iron to swim, or stilling the storms.
God does not always divide the Red Sea, but He
forgives all our sins and heals all our disease. (Ps,
103: 1-3).
Jesus said that whosoever sins you remit they are
remitted unto them. How can that be?
That is right, but that does not bring out all t.he
thought. It was all spoken together, but man divided
it into verses. "Then Jesus said unto them again .
as my Father hath sent me, even so I send you .
Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whatsoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosoever sins ye
retain, they are retained." (John 20 :21-2~n
Jesus said that it was not He but His Father that
dwelled in Him that did the work. (John 14:10) After
we receive the Holy Ghost the Father dwells in us
also. (John 14:17) We then go in Jesus' name, act in
His stead, and do the works He did. (John 14:12) But
it is not we that do the work, but the Father that
dwells in us.
We can deliver people from sins just as easy as we
can heal them. (Mk, 2 :9) But we can do neither. It
is the anointing of the Holy Ghost that does both.
It is the Father that dwells in us that does the work
Any time the anointing of the Holy Ghost is present
to heal, people are not far from the Kingdom of God
(Luke 10:9) It is so easy for them to be delivered from
sin. In the healing line Sunday night God completely
healed several deaf ears instantly! BliJ1d eyes could
see! Stiff joints straightened. Then faith rose so high
that several people were saved in the healing line, and
several received the Holy Ghost. After that smal
church service, thirty-eight testified that they were
saved from sin. That is what happens after the anoint-
ing of the Holy Ghost takes control. It is the Fatherthat dwells in us that does the work.
Chapter VII
If Christ actually died for OUt· sickness, is not Hi
atoning work a failure, for there is more sickness
today than ever before'?
All through the Old Testament we read that when
one's sins were forgiven, or when bodies were healed
they offered an atonement. If healing were not in the
Atonement then why did they ,offer an atonement?
When the Children of Israel put the blood over the
door post they also ate the flesh of the lamb as they
marched out of the land. They were healed everyone
(Ps. 105:37). All who looked at the brazen serpent
were healed. Jesus said the brazen serpent was
type of Himself. (John 3 :14). Many times we read
that God told his people to make an atonement in
order that the plagues would stop, (Nurn. 16 :46
25 :13; II Sam. 24 :25). Everything we receive from
Christ comes through the Atonement.
If we deny healing we deny a great part of the
Atonement. If we substitute a hand-shaking religion
for a born again experience we deny the greater part.
If we deny the Atonement we have the anti-Christ
spirit, (I John 2:4).
If we say that the atoning work was a failure just
-12- -13-

because one fails to accept healing, then the fact that
one is not saved, for whom you have prayed, also
proves Christ failed. We have more sinners today,
and people are more wicked, than ever before.
People today have a privilege to accept or reject
what Jesus has already purchased for them at Calvary.
If healing is in the Atonement would not the same
Atonement which forgives sins upon confession also
heal the bodies of God's people upon confession?
Before one can be saved he must confess what God's
Word says about forgiveness of sin. Before one can
be healed, he must confess what God's word says
about healing. It is after we receive forgiveness of sins that God
sends His Word and heals us. (Ps. 107:20). Healing
is the children's bread.
Because you teach salvation for the soul and tear
down the doctrine of healing for the body, some of
your people accept salvation and reject healing. You
are to blame for them dying before their time!
Confession alone will not forgive sins. The devils
confessed Jesus as the Son of God. You must have
faith in God's Word and apply it to your life. The
same is true with healing.
" ... and I will take sickness away from the midst
of thee." Jesus fulfilled the scripture, "Himself took
our infirmities, and bare our sickness" (Matt. 8 :17)
before He went to the cross. Does He any longer
need to heal '!
Jesus also forgave sins before He went to the
cross (Mk. 2). But it would be ridiculous indeed for
us to say He no longer needs to forgive sins! God
forgave sins from Adam until now. He has also healed
people since Adam's day. When David received for-
giveness of sins he was looking forward to the cross.
The blood'of bulls and goats could not take away sins.
When David was healed he was looking forward to
the cross (Ps. 103:3).
Death is also included in the Atonement. Why ar
not people raised from the dead?
Here you acknowledge that healing is in th
Atonement.
Death is in the Atonement. Christians may just g
to sleep in Jesus instead of suffering death (Heb. 2:9
Jesus has conquered death. But death in general w
be the last enemy that shall be destroyed. (I Co
15:26). Before that time we must all pass off of th
stage of action. But it is not the will of God for u
to die with cancer or any other disease.
Raising the dead is the gift of miracles and not th
gifts of healing. God has not promised to raise athe dead, but He promises to heal all our diseases
Just because we pray for the sick you tell you
members that healing is not right unless we rais
the dead, restore missing limbs, or divide the se
They will not believe you; you don't even believ

mean the Full Gospel people of our day who claim

To say that these people were ever saved is to tak
their word for it instead of the statement that th

(Matt. 7 :23.) They had never been saved. They ha

They have used the name of Jesus with their mouth.
(Matt. 158.) They have put His name in front of
their great structures and temples, but they are
yet unconverted.
To say that they have cast out devils is to take
their word for it instead of what Jesus said. Jesus
says Satan cannot cast out Satan. (Matt, 12 :26.) He
says that a house divided against itself cannot stand.
No fountain, can send forth sweet water and bitter.
A corrupt tree cannot bear good fruit. Satan abso-
lutely will not come out unless a power stronger than
he comes in and binds the strong man and casts Him
out. The only power stronger than Satan's is the powerof God. A man without God cannot cast out Satan.
Satan does not cast out Satan. (Luke 11:22.)
One man tells me that the spiritual gifts are resident
in the believer; another says they are resident in the
Holy Ghost; a third man says they are resident in
the Church. Which one is right?
All three men are right.
First: The spiritual gifts are in the Spirit. They
are given by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit divides
them to every man as He wills. There are no spiritual
gifts apart from the Spirit. All nine gifts are in the
Holy Ghost. Second: The Holy Ghost dwells in us. Our
body is the temple of the Holy Ghost (or Holy Spirit).
(1 Cor. 6 :19.) The Holy Ghost comes in us to abide'
forever. (John 14:17.)Our body becomes the taber-nacle for the Spirit. Third: The Church is a group of
Spirit filled believers. We are the Church. The church
is not an organization, but an organism. We are mem-
bers of the body of Christ. The Church is not creeds,
rituals, or doctrines. The Church is not a meeting-
house, but a building not made with hands. Each of
the Spirit-filled believers is a stone in that building.
It is very plain that the gifts are in the Holy
Ghost, the Holy Ghost is in the Church, but we are
the Church.
We find in the Bible that by one Spirit we are all

you are not in the Church until you receive the Baptism
of the Holy Ghost. Others say that. it means that y
are saved. Which one is right?
Neither group is right. In studying the Bible w
see that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is a differen
experience from being saved, or conversion. Y
cannot receive the Holy Ghost until after you a
saved. (Eph. 1:13.) (Mark 16:16-17.) The discipl

Chapter IX
I have gone to several healing campaigns, but
have never seen a miracle. What do you think is wrong
I have gone to healing meetings myself, for twenty
five years, and I have seen very few miracles. I harather not see with my natural eyes, for they a
prone to doubt, or to have a question mark in them
My natural reasoning might hinder God from doinHis work.
I remember one night at a little church in Arkansas
a few years ago, I told them that there was a man
the audience who walked on crutches. He stood an
was healed instantly; and went to work the next day
I did not see him healed with my natural eyes. I sa
it by the eye of faith, before hand. This past wee

crutches. The men cut the cast off. He ran all ov

the house, perfectly well, but I did not see that miracle.
I saw him before and after. I saw the manifestations.
Gary Hathcock, of Wynedot, Michigan shot his eye-
ball with a B. B. gun. The doctors operated on that
eye, leaving it small and rather square shaped. He
was to be totally blind in that eye for life. They said
it would be a miracle if the other eye did not go blind.
We prayed for him in the hospital in Detroit. About
three days later they brought the boy to our meeting
in Flint, perfectly whole. Both eyes were the same size
and shape. Both of them were perfect!
Mrs. Manning from[Baird, Texas came to our meeting
in Breckenridge, Texas. God showed me that a lady
was there who was totally blind in her left eye. She
came forward and could see fine print by the time
she got to the front. Her eye was perfect. She had
been totally blind in that eye for fourteen years.
On the plane on my way to Collinville, Illinois to
a tent meeting, God showed me that there would be
a woman there with a total blind eye - with the
eyeball paralyzed. I called for her when I began to
preach. She came forward and was instantly healed.
I did not see the miracle. I was not looking with my
natural eyes. I saw it with my spiritual eyes on the
plane before I arrived.
In out tent meeting in Malvern, Arkansas, two
people were there with cancers on their faces - a man
and a woman who did not know each other. Afterprayer both of these testified that the cancers fell
off their face. One fell off under the tent. Many people
saw them before and after. I did not see the miracle.
The other night a lady came for prayer who had one
eardrum missing. She was totally deaf in that ear.
After prayer she could hear a whisper. The ear was
just like the other one. That miracle took place on the
inside of her head. I did not see it.
A man outside the church told me that he was a
sinner and wanted to be saved. As I prayed he rejoiced
and accepted the Lord. Itwas a great miracle, but I
did not see it as it took place inside the man. Th
Spirit is like the wind. You can't tell from where
came or where it goes. You hear the sound thereof.
A Baptist man who had been a teacher ill the army
and a noted wrestler, came to the prayer room abou
three weeks ago. I started to pray for him, and he wa
gloriously filled with the Holy Ghost. I saw no miracle
I saw only the manifectation.
If I had my choice of seeing an angel with my natural
eyes Or not seeing- one, I would choose not to se
one. If I had my choice of hearing God speak to m
in an audible voice or hearing Him with my spiritual
ear I would choose the latter. Why? Because it is morereal to me. My natural senses may fool me, but not the
spiritual ones. I would be prone to doubt the natural
senses, but never the spiritual senses.
Chapter X
What does it mean when the Scripture says that
God hated Esau?
One place in the Bible we see that no man ever hated
his own self. (Eph. 5:29). Another place we see that
we must hate ourselves (Luke 14 :26). We see that
we must come unto Him hating our kinsfolk. We also
read that Jesus loved His kinsfolk. (John H) :26).
When we search the Scriptures we find that there
are two kinds of hatred: one is the fruit of the flesh
the other is the working of the Spirit. One is of the
spirit of the devil. (Gal. 5 :20). The other is of the
Spirit of God. (Prov.6:16).
There are two kinds of jealousy. God is a jealous
God. (Ex. 20 :25). Paul was jealous with a Godly
jealousy, which is the fruit of the Spirit. But there i
a jealousy which is the fruit of the flesh. This God
is against.
There are two kinds of anger; one is a righteous
anger, the other is the fruit of the flesh. Wrath is the
fruit of the flesh. (Gal. 5:20-21).
When Jesus became angry He was not angry with

the fruit of the flesh. Under the anointing of the
Holy Spirit, He was angry at the devil. (Mark 3:5).
When we have this kind of anger we fight not against
flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness.
(Eph.6:12).
We were having a real battle in a revival service
in Vidor, Texas. I did not give up, but became angry
at the devil with righteous anger. I was determined
to fight the battle through. I went home feeling as
though I had made a failure, but the next night God
gave us victory - about. fifty prayed through. A lady
gave the report that she was healed of cancer, after
the doctors had given her up to die. We must be angry
at the devil, but not take our spite out on people. We
must not stand and preach or testify against people.
We must preach them in instead of out.
After we are saved must we reap what we sowed
while in sin?
My aunt said that her boy would be a drunkard
because his daddy was a drunkard. She did not believe
that he would be saved because her husband had to
reap what he had sown. According to her faith so it
was; her boy was a drunkard.
I refuse to believe that my boy must drink because
I drank when I was a boy. The law of faith supersedes
the law of sin and death (Romans 8 :2), just as the
law of faith is stronger than the law of gravity, and
caused iron to swim. (II Kings 6:6).
A good man came to me and told me that he could
not be healed because he was reaping what he sowed
while he was in sin. I told him that he did not need
to reap the wages of sin, that although he brought it
on himself God would forgive him. and heal him. He
was delivered.
If everyone had to reap what was sown regardless
of being forgiven, then no one would be healed, for
we bring afflictions upon ourselves because of the
way we live, act, eat, dress, etc., or by the way we
believe. The curse does not come without a cause.
(Prov. 26 :2). This does not mean every time that on
is sick because he sins, but he may ignorantly di
obey the laws of nature, or health, and he must suffe
for it until God heals him. But God heals all of ou
diseases, regardless if we brought them on ourselves
I (Psalms 103-1 :3).
Chapter Xl
Do healings last?
Anything that God does lasts. However, Jesus him
self told a man, "Sin no more lest a worse thing com
upon thee." - John 5 :14. Jesus did not say that
would; He said it could. There is no protection whe
you go back into sin; Satan may bring a disease upo
you at any time.
The exact thing that God delivers you from does no
come back, it is usually something worse. For instance
I was healed of the itch. It did not come back, but
caught the itch again. One woman worried until sh
had a cancer. She was healed. She continued to worry
and another cancer came on her, not the same on
Are there people who stay right with God who hav
kept their healing?
One lady in Little Rock, Arkansas who had bee
deaf and dumb for thirty-seven years, was singin
specials in church eighteen months later. Another lad
in the same town who was also healed, could still hea
a watch tick one year later.
Two weeks ago I was in Waco, Texas, and a certain
man came to the platform and told the audience tha
he still had his healing which he had received fi
years ago. He had been totally blind in one eye fo
sixty-three years. He can still see perfectly.
Do not some people who are healed of cancer late
die with cancer?
It is possible for one to have another cancer afte
he has been healed of one, just. as it is possible for on
to sin again after he is saved. However, I can tak
you to a number of congregations and ask them ho

many have been healed of cancer for as long as ten
years, and there will be scores raise their hands.
We prayed for one Methodist lady, and she ~as
healed of an incurable cancer. One year later she died.
The people said that she died with cancer. Later, her
children wrote me that they sent specimens to five
different parts of the United States, and all five
sent back the same reply, stating that she did not
have cancer.
How does one die if God always heals?
One does not need to be sick to die. You can go to
sleep in Jesus, and sleep the sleep of death. The Lord
does not want us to be like a rotten apple that falls off, full of worms, before it is ripe. We can live to be a
ripe old age.Do the great revivals last where people come to God
by the hundreds'! .Jesus gave a parable of the sower showing that only
twenty-five per cent fell on good ground and brought
forth fruit, so you see, it depends on the ground. A
lot depends on the church that takes care of those
converts. If one hundred chicks are hatched out and
half of them die, that does not prove that they were
not hatched - it shows that they were not cared for.
Are churches built as a result of these healing
revivals? It depends on the follow-up program. It depends on
what the pastor preaches; whether he is for or .agamsta healing meeting. It depends on whether he IS after
members or souls. Just one revival won't last. ?ne
shave won't either. We must strive to keep the revival
spirit in our churches continually.
Chapter XII
Must one throwaway his remedies when he is
prayed for?It is according to your faith. Some people have
faith to throwaway their medicine or crutche.s and
go without them, but others don't have that faith. It
is up to them as to what they should do. Don't YOU
tell them what to do. Let the Lord lead them.
The next day after I was prayed for I threw m
medicine down in the woods. Why? I had the assurance
that I would be all right. In two months I had gained
twenty-five pounds. Now I have been healed twenty
five years.
You should put forth some effort and believe Go
after you are prayed for. Take your arm out of th
sling and try to use it. Try to get out of the whee
chair and walk. Re-gain use of your arm keep usin
it. You can put a well arm in a sling for a year an
lose the use of it. You gain use of it by using it ayou can. If you see that you can move your legs an
walk some without your wheelchair; keep moving them
and try to walk alone.
In Denton, Texas we prayed for a lady. The nex
morning she could get out of her chair for the firs
time in years. The next day she walked by pushing
chair. In a few days she was carrying five gallons o
water up the hill. In a few more days she was traveling
from state to state telling people the good news.
If you were a deaf mute, and were prayed for, try
to talk and hear some, then do not use your sig
language anymore. Gain use of your ears and tongu
by using them. It is more convenient to use your sig
language which you have used all your life. Of course
you are in a new world, but you must not be so lazy
You must learn! Learn! Some people go to Germany
and learn German. Others stay there for years an
never bother to learn the language, because it is mor
convenient to keep talking their own language.
You must learn a few words each day, until you ca
carryon a conversation without your old "crutches,"
or sign language. If you keep using the sign languag
you will never learn to talk.
At this writing I am in a revival. Last night a youn
man received a very beautiful healing. He was totall
deaf in his left ear. He could only hear a very little i

his other ear with the aid of a strong hearing instru-
ment. He had been that way since he was one year
old. When I tested him he could hear a small watch
tick with either ear. Naturally he kept reading lips.
His mother must be patient and teach him the sound
of words. It will be harder for him to learn than for
someone who has never learned to read lips.
I advised that boy to keep the hearing aid out of
his ear. He did not realize that the hearing aid could
become a "doubting stick" to him. 1 explained to the
boy: "I can talk better by speaking over this public
address system; yet there is nothing wrong with my
speech." 1 formed the habit of talking over the micro-phone and can hardly do without it. One who never
had that experience can't imagine how it is, but you
can actually hear better over the loud speakers. 1
could have put that hearing aid in my ear and heard
better with it than without it.
This boy should train his ears to hear normally just
as we hear. He must step out by faith. Faith without
works is dead, being alone.
A deaf mute was healed in Evansville, Indiana. I
asked her if she could hear my watch. She said "just
a little." It was not supposed to sound as loud as the
organ, but she did not realize that fact. She had to
be taught the difference. If praying for people would
take the place of learning, then I could lay my hands
on my boy and pray; then he would never need to goto school.

there who are not filled with the Spirit, then mo
people may receive the Holy Ghost. The percentag
is no higher.
We have seen miracles in churches which equ
those that take place in our tent meetin+s. In OUI' la
meeting in Grants Pass, Oregon, a vertabra, which h
collapsed, was replaced in a lady's back. She was mad
whole instantly. Two ladies came in one service wit
short limbs. The whole audience saw both of thes
ladies receive perfect healing, instantly. Measurement
showed that the legs were the same length. One
them had a shoulder that was hijher than the otheAfter prayer her shoulders were the same also. On
of them went home and put on a pair of tennis shoe
instead of her high, built up shoe! The same nigh
these people were healed, a deaf lady received perfec
hearing. I just thought if the crowd had been fift
times larger, fifty times that could have taken plac
in one night.
Why does it take some folk longer to be saved tha
it does others?
Some feel that they can merit their salvation b
being guod, trying hard, or praying long and loud.
is not wrong to do that, but everyone does not hav

Why do greater miracles take place in tent meetings
than in churches?
That is not true.
It is true that more miracles take place in some tent
meetings than in some churches; it's because there are
more people - that. is, in union meetings. Usually there
are more sinners in a union tent meeting, therefore,
there are more people saved. If there are more people

on who Jesus waa, and not on who she was. She came
with a repentant heart; she came with the right
approach and attitude. She was saved instantly, with-
out saying one word! This lady was saved even before
she joined a church. She was saved before she was
dipped under the water. She was saved before she
made resitutions. Jesus did not say, "I'm going to
watch her a month to see if she joins a certain church,
or if she asks a certain sister to forgive her before I
pronounce her saved." He said, "Thy sins which are
many, are forgiven you." I believe what Jesus said.
After the business lady was saved instantly, and so
easily, others saw that the power of God was present
to deliver, they also came and were delivered from sin
instantly. One man who had been a backslider for
about twelve years came in the healing line. He was
instantly delivered from sin also. The power of God
did it! He accepted what Jesus had already purchased
and paid for. About that time another lady began to
shake and tremble under God's power. She was saved.
It was impossible for us to know how many were saved
in the audience as they also began to shake and tremble
under the anointing of the Spirit. Without saying a
ord with their mouth they cried out to God in their
eart and were forgiven, then confessed Him with
heir mouth.
"As a man speaketh in his heart so is he." Othersorship the Lord with their lips, but their heart is
ar from Him. That is why it takes them longer to
saved.
"Why didn't I get saved," asked a lawyer, "I pled

"You should have pled guilty, as I did," said a convict.

Jesus said that to attribute the power of God to
power of the devil is the unpardonable sin (Ma
12:32). You see Jesus did all works under the anointin
of the Holy Ghost (Acts 10 : 38). When the people s
that he was doing it by the power of the devil

sin. He will not leave you unless you truly ask Him
to do so, from the depth of your heart. You must do
so wilfully, maliciously, and purposely.
Have you deliberately turned Him away forever
and for the last time? If you have you know it. If you
don't know it then you haven't. If you have not decided
from your heart that you will never have the Lord,
if you have not told Him to leave you forever, then
you still have a good chance.
AFTER THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAVES A MAN
FOR GOOD, THEN HE BECOMES AS A NATURAL
BRUTE BEAST.
His conscience becomes seared as with a hot iron.He has no more conscience than a hog. He would not
know right from wrong any more than a hog would
know what your rug was if you brought him into
your living room. His mind and conscience becomes
defiled. Just as you would put a hot iron to a raw
piece of meat, and cause it to be seared, the man's
conscience is seared. He will never, never become con-
demned about anything else while he lives. The rea-
son he is never condemned again there is nothing there
to condemn him. The only agency that may condemn
him of sin has taken its flight!
Are you as a brute beast? Is your conscience defiled?
Do you still feel condemned when you sin? If you don't,
then why don't you steal, lie, curse, and murder? You
must not be in that group! You talk as if you still have a heart of flesh. You
talk as if you still feel condemned about sin.
AFTER THE HOLY SPIRIT LEAVES A MAN, HE
RECEIVES STRONG DELUSIONS.
He is deceived into thinking right is wrong and
wrong is right. He does not know right from wrong.
He no longer knows what sin is. He received seduc-
ing spirits and doctrines of devils. He goes into false
doctrine. He denies the doctrines he once believed,
such as the Virgin Birth and Blood Atonement, or the
doctrine of holiness. He justifies himself in the things
he once taught against. He is deceived into really be
lieving false cults and doctrines of devils. He goe
into a way that seems right unto man, but the way
thereof are the ways of death. He does not realize
his condition. He is deluded. When a man is lost h
really thinks that he is not lost. When a man is deluded
he really thinks he is right, when he is not. He doe
not realize that he has sinned against the Holy Ghost
Have you given up the fundamental truths which
you once believed, such as the born again experience,
the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, and the doctrine o
holiness? Have you accepted and believed doctrines
of devils, gone into apostacy, and denied the Lorthat bought you?
Have you denied that Jesus is the Christ? Hav
you fallen away as the Jews did when they denie
Christ, crucified Him afresh, and went back into Juda
ism (HeO. 6 :1-6). Have you purposely and deliberately
and "wilfully" asked the Holy Ghost to go away an
leave you alone forever? (Heb. 10:25).
Do you still know what sin is? Does the Holy Spir
still condemn you when you sin? Then He has n

longer willing to quit sin. He is no longer willing to
walk in holiness and serve the Lord. Are you still
willing to live right and sene the Lord? Then you
are in the group that can come to Him. For the Lord
is saying that whosoever will, may come. That includes
you! If you are still willing you may come. "Whoso-
ever will let him come ann take of the water of life
freely." That includes everyone except those who are not
willing. "Whosoever" includes you if you are willing!
A man who has sinned against the Holy Ghost really
thinks he is right when he is wrong. That does not
include you; for you think you are wrong when you
are right. The trouble with you is this: After the
Lord forgives you, then you are not willing to forgiveyourself. You still condemn yourself when the Lord
does not.
The Lord says if we confess our sins He is faithful
and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from
all unrighteousness. That includes everyone except
those who are not willing to confess that sin is sin.
Anyone who is willing to confess that sin is sin can
be forgiven!
In the day that you seek the Lord with all your
heart He will be found. Everyone that seeketh findeth.
A man who has sinned against the Holy Ghost has a
heart of stone. He is not willing to seek with all his
heart. He is not willing to seek, for he does not know
his need of the Lord.
Your condition is this: Satan is lying to you, andtelling you that there is no use. Satan only tells people
that who have not gone too far. Satan is not after
those he already has. Those who have crossed the
dead line, he tells them that they are alright. Their
conscience is seared. Satan is a liar. He abideth not
in the truth.
You have believed Satan up until now. If you believe
God, then you will stop believing what Satan says,
and begin to say what God says, "Whosoever will may
come". Will you?
