Position Description - Stepping Into Program Position Title Telstra – Data Scientist Intern Location Melbourne Position Duration 152 weeks Dec 2018/ Jan 2019 Position Overview You will gain practical experience with big data analytics to improve customer service and network performance in our Nextgen OSS Data Solutions team. Our Nextgen OSS project has at its core a streaming data platform ingesting in excess of 30TB per day from network sources across Telstra with a growth trajectory of 100s of TB/day in the coming 2 years. Opportunities exist for interns to be involved in streaming data ingestion, streaming data analysis and data science, software and data engineering. We employ a range of big data technologies including Hortonworks, GPU, Splunk Ingestion and Dashboard Design, Tableau Dashboard Design. You will need to have studied data engineering or data science. Programming background is very helpful. Curiosity and a collaborative mindset are a must.
