Smart Service Queensland

Smart Service Queensland offers accessible, efficient and convenient services for Queenslanders where customers are able to conduct a range of transactions or get information through one phone number or through integrated service counters. Last year Smart Service Queensland delivered more than 220 services on behalf of the Queensland Government and responded to more than nine million customer enquiries.

Your contribution:

As the Learning and Development Officer, you will design, develop and deliver training programs across Smart Service Queensland (Smart Service) business areas. You will work alongside a team of Learning and Development Officers to implement Learning and Development initiatives that build the skills and capability or our organisation and drive a ‘Customer First’ culture amongst the workforce.

As the Learning and Development Officer you will:

Conduct training needs analysis, in order to scope project and training requirements, to ensure that training meets business needs and continuous improvement of service delivery.

Research, design, develop and evaluate training programs and resources, for Smart Service, utilising contemporary learning techniques and strategies to facilitate the organisation’s ongoing growth and capability.

Deliver and present training programs, to Smart Service staff and client agencies, to develop knowledge, skill and ability and ensure quality and consistency of the service delivered.

Contribute to organisational development initiatives and service transition projects, across Smart Service, to support the drive for organisational change and facilitate growth.

Monitor and conduct induction programs for Smart Service and communicate trainee’s progress to internal stakeholders, to assist with the effective integration of staff into Smart Service’s culture.

Engage, consult and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure training content and delivery is in line with business needs and quality service delivery outcomes.

Develop and coach (during induction programs) training program participants to develop knowledge, skill and ability and ensure quality and consistency of training content.

Drive and facilitate change within the organisation and contribute to a culture of growth and development by acting as a change agent.

Learning and Development knowledge: You have expertise in training, learning and development principals and models. You research, analyse and contribute to identifying and developing innovative and best practice training methods to respond to training needs to cater to a diverse organisation.

Build relationships: You build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through clear and concise communication. You are able to work collaboratively within a team with the ability to support others to achieve outcomes. You have the ability to manage conflict and negotiate successful outcomes.

Display personal effectiveness: You demonstrate strong organisational and interpersonal skills, acts professionally at all times and takes personal responsibility for accurate and timely completion of work. You commit energy and drive to ensure that work tasks are completed.

Communication and Facilitation skills: You confidently present messages in a clear and precise manner and structure written communication and oral communication, including presentation and facilitation, to ensure clarity.

Innovative approach: You are open to and experiment with innovative approaches. Will harness and inspire the creatively of others. Demonstrates good judgment and will promote the creative ideas and suggestions of others. Proactively identifies and implements improved ways of doing things.

Our team work across a large number of areas within SSQ and therefore they will see the breadth of the organisation. We work across our three sites as well so they will see both out contact centres at Mt Gravatt and Zillmere. We also are a part of larger projects so the intern will be able to get a full understanding of what its like to work here.
