7/28/2019 Prayer Weekend Info
2/4
IntroductionThanks for your interest in the
Stockholm Prayer Weekend. The aim of
the weekend is to pray for the city of
Stockholm and for the new church
plant. Weve tried to arrange theprogramme so youll also have some
to time to explore and appreciate
Stockholm. Its a beautiful city.
One point to add weve discovered
that one of the Swedish princesses is
getting married on the 8th so expect
to see a few more Swedish flags!
CostAs some people will be paying for travel costs and
accommodation we have decided there will be no
additional cost for the conference, however if
anyone wants to make a donation towards the cost
of the conference that would be very much
appreciated. Lunch will be provided on the Saturday.
The local currency is
the kronor but you canpay for most things by
credit or debit card.
Getting hereIf youre coming from the UK there are a number of
airports and cheap flights to choose from; Ryanair
fly to Vsters and Skavsta. Although they will say
its Stockholm both are in other towns about an
hours bus ride to Stockholm and costs 248kr returnto Stockholm. There are plenty of buses direct to
Stockholm timed in conjunction with the flights.

Scheduled airlines mostly fly to the
main international airport, Arlanda,
which is about 35 minutes north of
the city. There areregular buses which
cost 198kr return. There is also an
express train service which speeds youinto the city in just 20 minutes. It costs
from 325kr return but you can get 2
tickets for 380kr if youre travelling
with someone.
The cheapest way into the city is take a pendaltg (commuter train) from the
airport and costs 75kr one way. You can buy tickets at the airport train station.
Getting aroundStockholm has an excellent public transport network, including boats, buses, trains and an underground (T-bana) all of which make it very easy to get around
the city. You may want to buy a travel card which costs 230kr for a 72hr ticket and
gives you unlimited travel on all forms of public transport.
In the city centre many places are walkable and if the weathers good nothing could
be finer. For some of the sights of the city visit theStockholm Tourism website.
Accommodation
There are plenty of youth hostels and hotels inStockholm. If youre coming as a group we suggest
having a look at Air BnB and staying in a flat or
house. This is likely to be the most cost-effective
option. As a small church plant we dont have the
means to house conference guests.
Both conference venues are near underground
stations and as a result of the excellent public
transport you should have little problem getting
from your accommodation to the conference venueno matter where in Stockholm youre staying.

Conference VenuesWere meeting in two different venues
over the weekend. On Saturday 8th
June were using a Salvation Army
church. The address is
Sdermannagatan 44 in theSdermalm district. Its a short five
minute walk from two T-bana stations
(Skanstull or Medborgarplatsen) on
the green line.
On the Sunday were meeting in Kista to give you a taste of one of the areas
where we currently meet. Well be meeting in theKista Trff Centrum right by the
exit from Kista T-bana. Kista is 18 minutes by T-bana from T-Central on the blue
line. Its very multicultural, the home of Stockholms IT and telecoms industry and
one of Stockholms biggest shopping centres.
ProgrammeWere still working on the details of the programme
but this should give you a good idea of how the
