Comparing different types of music magazines.Similarities and Differences.

Having a thick, bold and obvious title attracts the audience to the magazine, also by having the model of Katy Perry covering the middle of the title it shows that this magazine is a well known magazine which would be recognisable without having the entire title on show, this shows its popularity which could put across to the reader that this is a professional magazine which knows what it is going on about.

Having small sections of information which shows what is included within the magazine will intrigue the person viewing this magazine to want to know more about what is inside this magazine, Also by including competitions which the audience can get involved with provides more of an interest also.

By having Katy Perry on the front of the magazine it shows this is a professional magazine and can afford to have her as a model of there magazine. It also represents the genre of the magazine as a whole as Katy Perry is known as one of the biggest pop icons around. This will attract the audience in different ranges for if they are a fan of this artist or if they want to know what is happening.

By having artists such as the Arctic Monkeys it shows that this is not the typical pop magazine with people such as Rihanna etc within the magazine and it shows it is more of a Rock/Indie sort of magazine which shows it would apply to a different audience showing that this magazine is different to the one before. Also by having the typical colours of red, yellow and black it shows this magazine is not created to appeal to only one gender and that they aim to appeal to both females and males.

With the image of Lily Allen, her fashion sense shows a punk edge to it, showing a laid back/care free characteristic which relates to the sub heading beside her, by doing this it continues with the theme of the magazine which is punk/rock and will draw in the audience. Having the price and the barcode in the bottle right of the magazine keeps the whole theme of a typical magazine, also providing a website will provide more information for the readers and create more of a wider range of ways this magazine works, such as games etc.

With the main image on the magazine been high school musical main characters, this shows the age of the audience as this film also attracts young girls, also this represents the cheesy pop theme throughout the image as this is a Disney channel film which holds cheesy music.

Further more, providing posters within the magazine of attractive males shows that this is a magazine which is aimed towards young females which may watch typical shows such as Hollyoakes and would enjoy having this input within the magazine, this is also represented with the colours which are used such as a lot of pink throughout the page and a light baby blue as the background, creating a fun and lively sense to the magazine.

The structure of this magazine is a lot more bubbly and creative, with the ‘plus’ what is inside the magazine it takes up a little section but provides photos for the readers, this shows its audience would relate more to photos rather than information.
