READING Use bug club to read a book at your level. Answer the bug club questions and talk to parents about the book you are reading.

SPELLINGS You have your own spelling lists (Common Exception Words) glued into your SCHOOL CLOSURE LEARNING BOOK.Try to practice one word a day. Start with the ones you didn’t quite get right and then revise the other ones.Remember that there are many fun ways to practice spellings including speed writing, rainbow writing etc.Also try to write the spellings in sentences to help you build up your sentences structure and understanding of each word.

PHONICSI will put up a Y2 phonics worksheet for you to have a go at each day.Your challenge is to colour the words that begin with the same letter in the same colour for both the wordsearches & pictures. You will begin to associate the words with colours and that should aid your spelling.

For example you might use blue for all the words beginning with ‘b’ eg. Bath, Beautiful, Break

Challenge – Can you try and accurately estimate the amount in terms of ml that there is in each jug?

ENGLISH NarrativeLearning Intent - To write the opening to our story.

Today you will write the opening paragraph to your story. You will describe where you go instead of your friends and that you catch your little creature.

What is a good opening? (One cold morning, In a quiet village etc)Where are you supposed to go? (Which friends)Where do you go instead? (village, forest, countryside etc)What do you catch? What are they like? (introduce & describe them)Finally explain that you decide to take it home.

Remember – An opening describes the setting and characters. Refer to your picture board you did yesterday.

Challenge – These tasks will be optional.

Include some of the Y2 suffix words and Common Exception Words in your writing.

TOPIC GEOGRAPHY – To understand what seaside’s were like in the past and how they compare to today.

We are going to continue to learn about the seaside and the first thing I would like you to do is read the PDF document.

Then see if you can complete the sorting activity. Try to label each photo with what they show.
