Sacrament of Baptism
We are pleased to help your family prepare for the special event of your child’s entrance into our faith community. Please contact the parish office at least two months prior to your preferred Baptism date to schedule a preparation class. We encourage attendance at this class well before the baby’s birth. The class is usually offered the last Monday evening of each month. Baptisms are scheduled Sundays at 1:00 p.m.
Sacrament of Reconciliation RESERVATION REQUIRED Saturday from 4:00pm—4:30pm or by appointment.
Sacraments of Initiation Adults interested in receiving the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation) may call the Director of our RCIA program, Deacon Tim Leonard.
Sacrament of Marriage Please contact the parish office at least six months prior to your wedding to set a date and to begin your marriage preparation and required paper work.
Home or Hospital Visitation (Temporarily Suspended) Anyone who cannot attend Mass because of age or illness, and would like to receive the Eucharist at home, should call the parish office to arrange a visit. Likewise, if you are being admitted to the hospital, and would like a visit, please call. Due to confidentiality reasons, hospitals no longer call the parish to inform us when parishioners are admitted.
Do you know that feeling when you arrive home after a long trip, or even after a short time away? In that moment “home” is the best place in the whole world. Even if you escaped home just a week or two prior, to jet off to warmer climates, the feeling of returning home is comforting, nurturing, familiar. Home.
I know not everyone has or will make it back to Prince of Peace this weekend, but for some, I am happy that you have made it HOME this weekend, and we await the day when it is safe for all our brothers and sisters to return HOME. We will be waiting.
This weekend is Corpus Christi, and we hear every week that in the Eucharist, bread and wine are transformed by the Holy Spirit of God into the body and blood of Christ. Then, in turn, the sacrament we receive should transform us into sacraments, as well. Out of love, Christ gives us Himself in bread and asks us to become, in our love, bread for others. In sharing the body of Christ we become the body of Christ. Jesus knew that we would need comfort when He could no longer remain on earth with us. So He chose the simplest elements, bread and wine, available to everyone. And His divine care made those elements no ordinary meal. He meant the Eucharist to be shared, to foster the life-giving blessing of relationship with God and with each other. It is no ordinary meal, indeed! The Eucharist is a discovery of faith, and of Christ, in whom our faith finds its goal. When we wish to be like Christ, we follow the signs He gives in the Eucharist. When we would find our eternal home with the Father, we are guided by the signs we are given in the Eucharist. The Eucharist makes sense of our life, providing pointers as to what is important, what leads to life. So sit through mass, watching everything that is done. Listen to the words. Hear what is being said, and work out for yourself what is going on. Recognize that Christ is present and active, and that you are changed by participating in His life. See what the signs are saying, what they are suggesting, where they are leading. The more you think, reflect and pray, the more you will discover the landscape of the Eucharist is rich with signs. With these signs you will not be lost - your destination is clearly marked out; you receive strength for your journey; you have companions for the way; you are at home in the world, and you have an eternal home. Your covenant is everlasting, with a God who cares. To participate in this extraordinary meal is to participate in the new covenant. It is a commitment. It means “thanksgiving.” To receive the Eucharist is to say, “Yes, I will do all that the Lord asks.” I know many of you miss receiving the Eucharist, and we continue to pray for the day when we all will be reunited around the Altar of Prince Peace. I wish you an enjoyable weekend and a truly blest and faith-filled week.

The Cardinal recognizes that many parishioners are concerned about their health, and may be reluctant
to gather for Mass, so, the dispensation from attending Mass is still in effect. Since parishioners are still dispensed from coming to Mass, we will continue to record the Sunday Mass and have it available on our website.
We will have to need to clean the church between Masses, so, we ask that parishioners exit the church building, to the parking lot, immediately after Mass so that this can be done.
We are using an online reservation system to monitor the number of individuals we can safely have in the church and maintain safe social distancing. If you are unable to access the reservation site by computer or cell phone, you can call the parish office and we will manually enter you into a time slot.
This sign up will be used for Reconciliation, Adoration/Prayer and Masses. We are asking everyone to use the reservation system which is available from the front page of our website (www.princeofpeacelv.org).
If individuals come without a reservation it may be necessary to turn parishioners away if the church gets too full. I ask that you please understand the situation and please do not be offended if this happens. Again, I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we reopen our doors.
Together we will open our church safely and it will be wonderful to be together again. Father Gerald, your parish staff and volunteer team

Weekend Stewardship Collection For the weekend of June 6-7, 2020
Total Envelopes $ 6,032.02
Electronic Giving $12,771.50
TOTAL COLLECTION $18,803.52
“Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.” (1 Corinthians 10:17)
As disciples of Jesus, we are called to lead holy lives and invite others to join us. Living a stewardship lifestyle, being grateful and generous with our gifts, serves a twofold purpose. One, it helps build God’s kingdom here on earth. Two, it helps us strengthen each other’s relationship with God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. It becomes our road map to Heaven. Let’s help each other get there!
10
There is a “Donate Now” button on our parish website that you can use for your Sunday donations. You can also sign up for continued Electronic Giving for your Sunday Steward-ship contributions, either by direct debit from your bank account or credit card, on a monthly or weekly basis. A form is available on our parish website or can be mailed to you at your request. After signing up, never worry about forgetting your envelope again! It continues your support to Prince of Peace when you are out of town, on vacation or unable to attend Mass. Parishioners who donate electronically to the Sunday collection receive a quarterly envelope packet, which contains envelopes for any special collections (i.e. Sharing Parish, St. Vincent de Paul & Archdiocesan collections) rather than the full monthly packet you receive now. Providing you with this new quarterly packet results in a savings to the parish. Please consider this option for your donations.
As we begin to return to Mass, there will be no passing of collection baskets for your offering. Please leave your offering/envelope(s) in the boxes/baskets provided at the entrance and exit areas of the church.

A Prayer for Vocations:
Heavenly Father, Your divine Son taught us to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into His vineyard.
We earnestly beg You to bless our Archdiocese and our world with many priests and religious men and women
who will love You fervently, and gladly and courageously spend their lives in service to Your Son’s Church under
the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We pray that their lives may be always centered on our Eucharistic Lord; that
they be always faithful to the Holy Father; and that they may be devoted sons and daughters of Mary, our
Mother, in making You known and loved; and that all may attain Heaven. Bless our families and our children and
choose from our homes those whom You desire for this holy work. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
