OUR VALUES

Aim High Be Respectful Be Resilient Be Responsible

Christmas carols have already started marking that time of the year

where all of us, it feels like, could do with an extra day in the week to get

everything done. Despite all of the busyness that comes with the end of

the year, one of the really positive features of our school community has

been our ability to work together as a team to ensure that we continue to

provide a clam, safe and supportive learning environment for all of our

children. This will continue to be our priority in the final 4 weeks of the

2015 school year.

A big thank you!

In the first three weeks of this term two of our families kindly offered to

host Ms Lulu our Mandarin language teacher in their homes. Thank you

Michelle Villinger and Christine and Gavin Furness for taking such great

care of one of our staff members. Both the school and Lulu are very

appreciative. What a great opportunity for Lulu to experience the culture

of a rural Australian family and also for the hosting families to spend time

with Lulu and learn about Chinese culture.

Parent & Grandparent Volunteers’ Morning Tea

One way that we can recognise the efforts of the many volunteers who

support our school is through our annual Parent & Grandparent Volunteers’

Morning Tea. We ask any of our volunteers who have helped on camps,

excursions, as class helpers, reading mums & dads, canteen helpers and

all the other ways in which our volunteers have helped out, to join us on

Monday 7th December (11:00 – 11:30) for this special morning tea in the

Library.

Student Placements for 2015

Repeats

Could parents note that if they are contemplating requesting their child

repeat a year they MUST discuss such matters with their child’s class

teacher. These matters are only carried out if there are very strong

educational reasons for doing so.

Exact Numbers - Enrolments and Planning for 2016

Currently we are heavily involved in planning for next year and need

to have accurate figures on how many students will be enrolled.

Therefore we are asking any parents who know that they will be

moving prior to the start of the 2016 school year to let us know so

that we may base our planning on accurate figures.

It is also important that if any parents who intend to enrol a new Prep

student please do so as soon as possible, as again we need to have

accurate figures for our planning.

KCCC After School Care and Summer Holiday Program

We would like to inform all parents that After School Care finishes on

Thursday the 17th December, remembering that the 18th December

is a pupil free day. To assist parents for planning the beginning of

next year I would also like to announce that KCCC is offering a Sum-

mer Holiday Program from the 11th – 22nd January 2016 and also for

one extra day on the 27th of January. After School Care will resume

on the 28th of January. Students are expected back to school on

Thursday the 28th of January.

Student Led Portfolio Conferences

Today all students will receive a letter home today outlining what you

can expect to experience when attending a Student Led Portfolio

Conference. Attached to the letter are instructions of how to make a

booking. Please be aware that bookings will open on the 30th of

November. The Conferences will be held in the 2nd last week of

school on the 7th, 8th and 10th of December.

HPV

Yesterday our two HPV teams headed off to Maryborough to

compete in the RACV Energy Breakthrough Challenge. We look

forward to following their progress and hearing about it at our

assembly next Friday. Thank you to the large number of parents who

have made the trip to Maryborough to support the students. And

thank you to Mr Friebe and Mr Wells for your dedication and

commitment to the HPV program. Good Luck!

Parent’s & Friends

Hello everyone,

This year has certainly flown by. The team and I from the K.P.S. Parent’s and Friends group have been super

busy gearing up for our final fundraisers for this year.

Christmas Tree Orders

You should have received by now the Christmas tree order form. If you haven’t already

received one please pop into the office to collect one. Anyone can order the trees, not just

the immediate school community. Orders must be back in to the office with payments made

by the 1st of December, with tree collection on the Saturday the 5th of December at the

Primary school between 9.30 am – 10.30am.

Christmas Raffle

Our Christmas Wheelbarrow raffle will be running this year. Please keep a look

out for raffle tickets being sent home this week. If each family would be kind

enough to drop off a small donation directly into the wheelbarrow we would

appreciate it. It can be any food in date or gift items. The first prize will be the

wheelbarrow full of goodies, second prize will be a Christmas hamper and third

prize will be a petrol voucher for $50.00.

Last weekend we did our BBQ fundraiser at Coal Creek farmers market. We had a great day out with many of

our customers and stall holders asking us to come back soon. Our next BBQ fundraiser has been booked for

next year already for the 12th of March 2016, featuring some new menu items!

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be on the 7th of December after assembly, please feel free to join us for a cuppa and a

chat.
