There were only minor technical difficulties since the Preliminary task, the biggest being the 500MB upload cap on Vimeo which made it hard to upload high-quality videos regularly. Also, Slideshare, the platform I am on now is exasperating due to the fact you can only upload .ppt / .docx file extensions. Not .key (Apple) or Google Slides for example. Finally there is Prezi which, when embedded, does not update automatically and you have to re-embed the presentation onto your blog/website.

The preliminary task was a good way for us to hone our skills and really understand how to shoot a sequence of shots, for me especially it was helpful as I did not take Media Studies GCSE and so this was a way for me to find out how scenes were shot and the different angles and lighting that was available, preparing me for the final opening title sequence.

Firstly, the scene had to be shot at a slightly weird angle which I did not like. This was because we had fixed tripod which could not be adjusted up and down, I think the key to success is the planning as I will always have an adjustable tripod and test out the settings before hand from now on.

I believe that much of the filming in the woodland scene went well due to the pre-production and planning completed by me as Locations manager

I think that because I came onto this course with a GCSE in Photography and past experience with television after being given the chance to give segments to a BBC 2 programme my knowledge was helpful in the process on camera and technology, this meant that our production was filmed in high quality with professional audio. I am also keen and excited about Media and would like to pursue it as a career in later life.

I also have experience with software and online forums which helped us find several of our locations for our opening title sequence.

I think my biggest weakness is not always getting my work done to a deadline. This is obviously my fault and also because I have not had previous experience in Media Studies (GCSE). I am working to overcome this.

I also sometimes find it hard to have a professional relationship with the cast and team members and I think this can slow down production.

In conclusion, over these past few months I have learnt may things. Media is not as easy as it looks and the production of a film takes meticulous planning and consideration of things out of my control (i.e cancellation, weather, accessibility). I have learnt that it is important to keep to deadlines and to keep on top of your workload to allow you to have time.

I also believe that I have improved my camera, editing and production skills after having various different shooting sequences.
