(Presently being used in all BG Panels in the country)

(ii) “Sawdust & Rice-Husk” as additives in AN & FO for cost-effective blasting (Presently being used in most of the limestone & Kota-stone mines in India)

(iii) Designed the extraction methodology of the First Highwall Mining in India (Using this technology, till date, more than 4.0 million tonne of locked-up coal costing more than Rs. 640 crore have so far been recovered from OCP-II & Medapalli Opencast Mines of SCCL, Sharda OCP of SECL and Quarry-SE of West Bokaro Collieries, Tata Steel Limited)

3.a Impact of the contributions in the field of nominee Dr. Pal Roy’s work are widely cited in different international journals viz. Coal Abstract (1992, 1993 onwards), Coal Highlight (1996 onwards), Int. Jr. of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences (1996 onwards), IMM Abstracts (2001 onwards), Procs. of Seminars and Symposia like Fragblast, Mine Planning etc. Instantel Inc., Canada & GeoSonics, USA had incorporated CSIR-CIMFR vibration standards in BlastMate, MiniMate and GeoSonics Compliance Software Modules (first released in March 1996). There had been extensive references of Dr. Pal Roy’s work in STANDARD TEXT BOOKS published in India and abroad by world-renowned researchers. Internet survey through “Google Scholar” showed extensive global references of Dr. Pal Roy's work on rock blasting technology. In India and abroad, most of the educational institutions like IITK, IITB, IIT-ISM, IIEST, NIITs' refer the books (a) “Rock Blasting Effects and Operations” & (b) "Blasting in Ground Excavations and Mines" to the students of Mining & Civil Engineering Departments as Text cum Reference books. Practicing mining engineers generally use “Technical Guidelines" on Controlled Blasting (Opencast & Underground mines; BG Panels)” published in 1993, 2002 & 2008 in their First Class Coal Competency (FCC Coal) Examination undertaken by the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS).
