PUBLIC NOTICE

It is for the information of all the stakeholders and the general public that the Govt. of Punjab, after considering the adverse effects of Plastic carry bags on the environment and local ecology, intends to issue directions u/s 5 of Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 to prohibit / restrict sale, distribution and use of virgin and recycled plastic carry bags as well as recycled plastic containers.

However, before, issuance of the said directions, all concerned and the general public is afforded an opportunity to file objections / suggestions in writing, if any, to the proposed directions. A detailed notice in this regard has been uploaded on the website of Punjab Pollution Control Board i.e. www.ppcb.gov.in. Any person / institutions desirous of filing objections / suggestions to the proposed directions may read the detailed notice and file objections / suggestions, in writing, in the office of Member Secretary, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Vatavaran Bhawan, Nabha Road, Patiala, within a period of 15 days of the publication of this notice. Objection received after the stipulated period of 15 days will not be considered.
