Final lining

Canals, reservoirs

and sewage systems

As it is applied, compacted and refined in

one single step, a fast access to the site

and a variety of forms and thicknesses of

the lining are possible

High-pressure water tunnels

In hydroelectric power plants, shotcrete is

used for the stabilization and lining of

high-pressure water tunnels leading from

the water supply dam to the turbines of

the power house

Stabilization of slopes

Due to its sheer resistance and

good adhesion to the rock,

sprayed concrete strengthens the

substrate, by filling holes and

cracks and avoiding mud orm

rockslides

Underground mining

Progressive replacement of wire mesh

by fiber-reinforced sprayed concrete

(FRS)

More resistant support of FRS in

combination with anchor bolts

Increase of operator security through

working from secure zones

Improvement of the execution time of

the construction

Reduction of the necessity to

repair the support

Mechanized wet-mix spraying is the most efficient method for projects with high shotcrete production.

It is primarily applied for underground works in order to increase operator safety.

The concrete is introduced into the hopper of the concrete pump and transported through the

concrete line to the spraying nozzle, where it is mixed with compressed air and accelerator to be

sprayed on the substrate.

The SPM 4210 WETKRET has a

vertical spraying reach of 10 m

and concrete flow of 20 m3/h. The

dual cable and wireless

proportional remote control

permits easy handling of arm

movements, besides regulation of

the concrete flow and adjustment

of the additive dosage. With state-

of-the-art axles and a reinforced

turning system, the chassis is

ideal for the rough working

conditions in mining.

The mechanized shotcrete

equipment Wetkret 4 boasts

two spraying arm versions, one

with a maximum vertical reach

of 10 metres and the other of

7.5 metres, and a concrete flow

of 20 m3/h. Its compact size

makes its idea for small

galleries and reduced turning

radiuses, while its robust

chassis is ideal for underground

mining.

Work outside the danger zone

As all equipment components

are operated by remote control,

the operator can work from a

secure area that already

disposes of the required support

to prevent falling rock.

Safety in underground construction with mechanized

shotcreting equipment

Mechanized shotcrete

equipment requires fewer

operators than manual

application, which implies fewer

people working in areas of major

risk.

Fewer workers at the excavation face

The spraying arm allows

shotcrete application beyond the

manual spraying

reach, without scaffolding and

platforms that imply the risk of

falling down or getting hit.

The working lights of the

concrete spraying equipment

provide a synchronized

whereas manual application

requires external illumination.

The mechanization improves the

working conditions by reducing

the physical effort of the operator

and the exposure to dust and

rebound.

Being exposed to less stress, the

operator is able to concentrate

fully on his work, which leads to a

higher quality shotcrete support

and therefore improves security.
