What is RANOPT?

▪ For multi-technology drive measurement based post processing and analysis/troubleshooting.- WCDMA, GSM, GPRS, EDGE etc

▫ Load files, ‘as required’, ‘bulk’ or ‘as collected’▫ ‘Filter’ files before analysis. eg date, location, filename etc▫ Geographic display▫ Spreadsheet reports▫ File synchronised playback/replay▫ Layer 3 messaging browser

▪ Designed in conjunction with a leading European operator

▪ Part of Enterprise Suite – provides integrated solution across planning, performance monitoring and optimisation

Requirements for Supporting Logging Equipment

• Agilent Nitro – Require Agilent SW on loader - SD5 file access given via AGILENT dlls

• TEMS 6/6.1 - TEMS specific ‘Export Plan’ required. Used in TEMS SW to export log file into RANOPT compatible format

We have tested and support the following phones w.r.t TEMS 6/6.1

V800 (sony Ericsson),

Z1010 (sony Ericsson),

R520m (sony Ericsson),

T610 (sony Ericsson),

Nokia 6630

Theoretically is should be possible to support the following phones (obtained unofficial spec TEMS Investigation 6.1 -- Hexadecimal Strings in Text Format Logfile Export.pdf)

 All Motorola

All Nokia

All Qualcomm

Sony Ericsson    T610/T616/T618, T68, T62u, R520M

                          V800, V802SE, Z800i, Z1010, S710a

•However spec obtained does not correspond to files causing issues with TEMS support

How is it deployed?

▪ Client Server/Terminal server

▪ Standalone

and what SW is Required?▪ Oracle 9i with partitioning and spatial options - hence the need for Oracle Enterprise.

▫ Oracle SQL*Net

▫ Oracle Call Interface (OCI)

▫ Oracle Objects For OLE

▫ Oracle ODBC

▪ Microsoft Office -Excel ▫ 2000

▫ 2003

▫ XP

Using RANOPT – Issues that need to be considered

▪ RANOPT Oracle DB maintenance▫ Not maintaining DB leads to performance issues

▫ AIRCOM can help and educate on system architecture▫ AIRCOM can provided SW upgrades and suggest when best to apply

▫ Data Deletion

▪ Manual

▪ Automatic – data is too old, AIRCOM can provide deletion scripts

▫ Data Aggregation ( Some customers are requesting this)

▪ Day to week

▪ 50m – 100m

▫ Data Archiving – Required?

▪ Site DB Maintenance▫ Needs to be synchronised and kept up to date from IMS/OMC for correct site

information and analysis work

Why Use Filters?

Filters provide a method of displaying and analysing data:

▪ Used to string multiple log files together

▪ To compare scanner and handset measurements

▪ To filter out (exclude) results by threshold or anomalies

▪ To bin data by time/distance or grid

▪ To analyse specific scrambling codes, BSIC/BCCHs, networks or polygons.

▪ Can save the modified log file(s) to use later

▪ Allows grouping of similar log files for easy retrieval using Windows style folders

▪ Can share filters with other users by making them public filters…

Page 19: Ranopt Presentation

▪ Use to Creating new filters/folders

Filter Manager Options

▪ Right clicking on the empty space in the Filter Manager gives the following options

▪ Right clicking on a filter in the Filter Manager gives the following options

Option to use the extends of the 2D view to filter the data . The 2D view extents are used as a polygon

▪ Create/delete and modify existing filters

▪ Quick add/remove from 2D view

Filtering – Options for Data Selection and Manipulation

▪ Selection/Filtering of measurement data via Filter Criteria

▪ Filter data based on:

▫ Date/Time

▫ Technology

▫ Polygon/Region

▫ Equipment Type and Network

▫ SC, BSIC/BCCH

▪ Data Manipulation:

▫ Binning (see slide Binning Techniques )

▫ Exclusion rules ( see slide Filter Manager - Rules Editor)

▪ Filters based on selection site filters creates from other Enterprise modules

▪ Cell database snapshots association (see slide Filter Manager- Snapshot Manager)
