A small change to your WrenWe have changed the delivery times for the Wren so we can keep you better informed and updated throughout the year. So look out for future Wren’s in June, September and November this year.

Warfield Neighbourhood PlanThe Warfield Neighbourhood Plan is nearing completion following the consultation period held last summer. Final production has been slightly delayed by the publication of the Bracknell Forest Draft Local Plan, but it is hoped the final version will be completed and submitted to Bracknell Forest Council by the end of April.

Vegetable Take & GrowWarfield Parish Councils popular family Vegetable Take and Grow event takes place on Sunday 29 April from 11.30 am to 1pm at the Whitegrove Community Centre. Once again we are looking for your help, we need volunteers to grow and donate seedlings to the event - we can provide seed trays/pots if required. If you are able to help then please contact the Parish Office.

As well as providing free vegetable and herb seedlings for residents to ‘grow their own’ there will be the opportunity for children to plant seeds, design plant labels and take part in our free competition. Children can also plant their sunflower seeds ready to grow for our tallest sunflower competition. As usual experts will be on hand to help out with any vegetable growing questions you may have!

Warfield Village Fete

The ever popular Warfield Village Fete takes place on Saturday 9 June on the Memorial Ground. Lots of exciting events and activities are planned. Look out for posters around the parish for more information.

Warfield Grow & ShareWarfield Grow and Share are award winning community veg growers looking for new members. They are an enthusiastic group with a mixture of ages and experiences who grow fruit and veg as a group and share as a group at Jealotts Hill Community Landshare.Contact Geoff Minchell on 07454 370101 for more details or email [email protected]

Library VolunteersVolunteers are needed to help at Whitegrove library in Warfield. Volunteers will assist the library staff or help with the regular groups that meet there. The Library especially welcomes help on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Training will be provided if you can provide the time.More details on the Bracknell Forest Website or ask at the library.

Budget 2018/19 The Parish Council has set its budget and precept level for 2018/19. Warfield residents continue to pay the lowest parish precept per dwelling in Bracknell Forest, with a band D council tax property contributing £37.40 per year. This year we will be making further improvements to the Whitegrove Community Centre as well as installing defibrillators at parish buildings. We are continuing to run our popular events including Arts Week and Summer of Fun as well as supporting local groups and charities with grants.

Parish/Borough Councillor SurgeriesThe Parish Council holds monthly surgeries in the Parish Office when Parish and local Borough Councillors are available to enable residents to discuss any views or issues they have. So, if you have any planning, litter, parking, open space or any other issues, then why not come along to the Parish Office to meet your Councillors on:-Saturday 7 April 10am – 12 noonSaturday 5 May 10am – 12 noonSaturday 2 June 10am – 12 noon

No need to book – just pop in at a time to suit

Gardening CompetitionOur Annual best front garden competition will be taking place again this summer. Look out for more details in the June edition of the Wren, but in the meantime, get those green fingers active!

Warfield Community Hub SurveyThank you to everyone who took part in the Warfield Community Hub survey that featured in the last edition of the Wren. As part of new housing development in Warfield, Bracknell Forest Council requires the developers to provide funding for a new on-site community hub and for improvements to the Priory Field open space. The results of this survey work have been fed into an initial design brief and further work is now being undertaken to develop concepts for the site. Warfield Parish Council is working with Bracknell Forest Council and their consultants on this exercise and we hope we can provide you with further updates on the project in the coming months.
