VBS – The theme is “CaveQuest - Jesus is the Light of the World ! ” The Vacation Bible School in July 2016 will be from the 11 th to the 15 th and in the mornings only. Students ages 12 and over as well as adults are needed to lead groups from station to station. Please contact Shirley at the parish for more information. Pre registration is necessary. ribbon they would like to donate? Does anyone have a rock collection or some

unusual rocks they have collected or some lanterns with LED lights that they no longer

would need? Please contact Shirley.

Parish News Pastoral Associate News Stewardship/Ministry –The new liturgical schedule is

being emailed and if you do not receive it by June 8th please contact Shirley at the parish. Just a reminder, please also

check your junk email in case the computer does not recognize the church email as safe. Those who request a

hard copy should contact Shirley as well.

Sacrament of Baptism – Those who are expecting a new baby, those with new infants or young children to be

baptized, please consider that the summer preparation dates

are August 18 and 25th with the celebrations during the weekend masses on August 27 and 28, 2016. The scheduled

preparation sessions after that are at 6:45 pm, the evenings of November 9 and 17 with the celebrations during the

masses the weekend of November 19/20. Pre – registration is necessary. Contact person is Shirley at the parish.

Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults - If there are any

adults who have already been Baptized and/or have received

First Communion, but would now desire to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, please contact Shirley at the

parish. There will be preparation sessions scheduled in the Fall.

Sacrament of Reconciliation - Those (ages 7 and 8 usually or about the grade 2 and three level) who would be interested in preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation to

be celebrated in November 2016, will be invited to register

for the preparation sessions which begin in October. Please watch the bulletin for further information towards the end of

August.

Weddings! – A reminder that weddings at the parish must be booked at least six to eight months before the expected

wedding date. The next marriage preparation course will be offered in the spring of 2017. There are diocesan documents

which must be completed well before the celebration.

Congratulations!-Erick Dennehy and Stephanie Ulm were

married this weekend ! Please keep them in your prayers as

we look forward to joyfully building the church together with them!

Food Collection ~ In June we are collecting peanut

butter and jam for the Friendship Inn. In addition, there is always a need for other non-perishable food.

An opportunity to SPONSOR BISHOP DON in the

Sanctum Survivor 36-hour homeless challenge: Bishop Don Bolen is one of 10 participants who will attempt to

survive homelessness for 36 hours in June as a way to raise awareness and funds for Sanctum, an HIV transitional care

home and hospice located at the refurbished Grey Nuns

convent at 134 Avenue 0 South, Saskatoon. Proceeds will also go to Sanctum 1.5 -- a planned HIV pre-natal care

home to support high-risk, HIV-positive pregnant women. For info on Sanctum Survivor, including tickets for a wind-up

To sponsor Bishop Don you can donate through the Sunday collection at our parish but please ensure that the envelope is

clearly marked, indicating that it is in support of the Bishop. Donations via cheque can be made out to St. Philip Neri parish.

Blackstrap Youth Camp

Experience the fun and adventure of summer with your friends at Blackstrap Youth Camp. This camp

gives youth aged 8 to 13 the opportunity to experience God through nature and fellowship with other young people. Week-long camps are held throughout the

months of July and August. Indoor and outdoor activities include canoeing, swimming, hiking and tenting. The camp is sponsored by the Saskatoon

Knights of Columbus and is fully endorsed by both Dioceses of Saskatoon.

Anniversary of Ordination- Please take a moment to

congratulate Father Emile April on the 49th Anniversary of his priestly ordination which was on June 3, 2016.

JOY (Justice & Outreach Year of Formation)

JOY – is a new hands-on diocesan program in servant leadership, centered on Catholic Social Teaching that will

Children’s Ministry: There will be an information night

for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd at 7:00 on Tuesday, June 14 at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 222 Willow

Street, Saskatoon (at Melrose Avenue and Hilliard Street). Come and learn about this wonderful ministry to be offered

to children 3- 6 years of age in three parishes this fall.

Driving Fore Prostrate Golf Classic. Celebrities set to

support the Leslie and Irene Dubé Urology Centre of Health located in St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon. Willie Desjardins,
