Service Opportunity--QPR Training2018-06-20

Community Outreach Project:QPR Suicide Prevention TrainingFort Worth Club, 12th floor, Bistro Room from 1:00 pm to

2:00 pm

The recent suicides of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain leave many of us puzzled, uncomfortable,and sad. Would you know what do if a loved one or colleague was struggling with thoughts ofself-harm?

Please sign up for a one-hour QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention class through theRotary Club of Furt Worth Community Outreach Committee and The Jordan Elizabeth HarrisFoundation. The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation is a local nonprofit providing suicide preventiontraining and education for children and adults. The JEHF also seeks to remove the stigma of mentalillness by collaborating with area mental health agencies, as well as bridging service gaps with itssuicide prevention programs.

Contact Christie Eckler to sign up as a team captain, or as a participant. We will work in teams of 5and will train 25 people. If this one fills up before you get to register, you will have a choice of twomore training sessions are being planned this summer. Stay tuned for details!

The Annual Blood Feud is On!2018-06-18

Our club has officially contributed 54 units of blood to Carter Blood Care aspart of the annual Blood Feud between Fort Worth Rotary Clubs and theArlington Rotary Clubs. Thank you and congratulations to all who helpedduring the Blood Drive downtown on June 14 as part of World Blood DonorDay. You saved many lives with your generous donations!Special thanks to Dr. Marguerite McClinton Stoglin for her efforts as chairof the drive and to Becky Fetty for helping get the permits for the bloodcare buses and creating the ads.We look forward to learning how the Arlington clubs did, and whether wewill take home the trophy as vistors of the Blood Feud this year!
