What a great meeting on Monday night. Wonderful fellowship before and after the meeting. It was good to see so many members stay behind after the meeting chatting and catching up.

Mike's presentation on the Body Farm in Tennessee was certainly an eye opener.

Sunday is the Foundation Qualifying Grants Seminar. We have four members who are attending. If you find you are able to attend then by all means do come along to The Palms ready to start at 10.30am. The program indicates a completion time of 1.50pm.

Monday evening is the Vocational visit to the Cemetery. If you haven't already can you let Ross know:

1. If you will be at the Cemetery and

2. If you will be at dinner at the Tower at 6.30pm.

As Boulder and Hannans Clubs members will be joining

us Ross needs to know numbers so the Tower can set up the right number of places for us.

The following Wednesday is the Lighting of the Christmas tree. We will once again be holding a Chocolate wheel at the event. It would be great to have as many members as possible along to give a hand as it is a great fun night.

Monday 15 December is our last meeting for the year. This meeting will be a family night so please bring along the family to enjoy a fun filled night. As has been mentioned previously it has been decided not to exchange gifts this year, but to make a contribution so that the club can support St Jude's School in Tanzania.

Members are asked to give their contribution to Ross or Billy. The club will make the amount up to $1000. The amount discussed at the Board meeting was $20 per family member. However, it is up to individual members

how much they contribute. The $1000 would fund a teacher and at least one student for the next 12 months.

Our first meeting back for 2015 will be on Monday 12 January.

November is Foundation Month so a reminder to members to encourage work colleagues, friends and family to empty their small change into the Foundation money box that was given to all members in October. If you box is full can you bring along to Rotary and hand

to Billy. It is hoped all will be able to bring their full Foundation Money boxes to Rotary on Monday 1 December so the money can be sent off before the end of this year.

Enjoy the rest of your week as you Light up Rotary.

From President Esther ...

Our guest speaker on Monday 10 November was Mike Lee who is a Senior Constable with the Western Australian Police in the Goldfields-Esperance District Forensic Investigation Office. Mike is also just one of a handful in WA who investigate human remains.

Now, I normally write 2-3 pages of notes when we have a guest speaker so that I can share as much as possible in the newsletter. I found Mike so interesting, and was so completely captivated by what he was saying, that my notes consist of *Forensics and *Vote of thanks by Ross!

Mike has attended various seminars both in Australia and overseas and his presentation included photographs from a recent seminar in America where they attended a facility similar to Patricia Cornwell’s “Body Farm”. The study of human remains, while a little gory and morbid, is absolutely fascinating and, believe it or not, is not as quick as the one hour crime shows on TV!

Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER

FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

“Rotary was born out of loneliness…

and it exists to bring hope to the lonely

and help to the desolate.“
