Andy WarholAlong with fellow American artist Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein was one of the central figures of the American pop art movement in the 1960s, which celebrated popular, commercial images. Unlike abstract expressionists, Lichtenstein and Warhol liked mimicking familiar images in popular culture.

More of Lichtenstein Life He was inducted into the army in 1943. In 1946 he received a Honorable discharge from the army after his father passes away.1949 He gets married to Isable Wilson.
More about his legacyIn 1967 he married his second wife Dorothe Herzka.
In 1996 the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC became the largest single repository of the artist's work when he donated 154 prints and 2 books. In total there are some 4,500 works thought to be in circulation.[2]
