Spiritual Work of Mercy: Bear wrongs patiently: “If you struggle with gossip or unkind speech, don’t act based on what you think others deserve, but act based on what God deserves. My worship of God is only as authentic as the honor I give those He created in His image.” (Alison Blanchet).

RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
Several years ago a grandfather of a student at HFRS approached the
administration with an idea. He wanted to encourage and support acts
of kindness performed by children throughout the day. He agreed to
make a donation to the school if there was a way to acknowledge these
children. It was decided that the staff would write the names children on
a slip of paper as they witnessed these numerous acts. The program was
called Random Acts of Kindness and has continued ever since. The
student’s names are submitted and monthly drawings are held. The
winner from each grade then selects a charity to which a donation is
made in their name. By celebrating these children’s acts of kindness
during morning announcements and a photo posted on the Random Acts
of Kindness Wall, we hope to empower these children to continue with
this ministry. The school had maintained the program beyond the
grandfather’s initial donation until last year when the grandfather
learned we had continued his vision, he then made another donation to
our school. We believe kindness truly is contagious at Holy Family
Regional School!
