Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, Welcome to Sacred Heart Church! It is a blessing to have you join our worshiping community as we celebrate our Eucharistic Liturgy for the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Most Holy Body and Blood of

Christ! Our gathering in prayer is enriched through your active participation. May this prayerful time lift your spirit and strengthen your faith. Thanks for being with us! Happy Father’s Day! Our Parish community is blessed through the faithfulness and care exhibited by the men who have taken on the role of husband and father. I rejoice in observing fathers in Church, on the playgrounds, in school activities and in the neighborhood interacting with their children. May the Risen Lord continue to guide the Fathers of our Parish as they live out the responsibilities of fatherhood. On this Feast of the Holy Body and Blood of Christ we affirm our faith in Jesus’ presence in the Holy Eucharist. We are reminded once again to be ever conscious of the sacredness of the Body of Christ we take and eat. In receiving the Blessed Sacrament, we say “Amen” after the Minister of the Holy Eucharist says, “The Body of Christ.” Our “Amen” confirms our belief that the bread we eat has been changed into the Body of Christ. Our “Amen” is a prayerful desire to be nurtured by Christ, to become Christ-like. May we approach the Eucharist, not as something routine, but as a sacred moment, a sacred act of taking and eating the Body of Christ. As we enter the hazy hot days of Summer with schools closed and vacations beginning, I hope you and your families will make time to be “family.” I hope life slows down a little so

you may enjoy each others company and just relax. The school year can be a hectic time, so it’s important to slow down a little and recharge your spirit. Enjoy the summer days! Peace be with you! God bless,

Fr. McKee
