recommend this practice for all who are serious about

the Deemerton Retreat Centre (outside of Mildmay),
which is open to all men of the area. The retreat will
begin Friday, February 10 in the evening and finish on

will be led by Father Jeff Oehring with preached
meditations, Holy Mass, Rosary, and other devotions in a
spirit of silence. All meals will be provided along with
individual rooms. The price is $200 per person and

7 Keys To Life:
1. GOD first.
2. Love one another.
3. Never hate.
4. Give generously.
5. Live Simply.
6. Forgive quickly.
7. Be kind always.
With GOD, all things are possible. Matthew 19.26
Hi Friends,
Grace and peace be with you all! It has been a privilege
serving you in the Lord. As we give thanks to God for
the New Year 2017, I wish to suggest four (4) things for
our consideration. The first is that, we continue to work
hard in making Sacred Heart Parish a welcoming
community for everyone – a home away from home;
secondly, make our parish a place to openly and sincerely
explore our faith, and journey together in hope and
love, knowing that no one has all the answers to our faith
and life but Christ alone. The third is to deepen our
connection/relationship with God and our fellow
parishioners. Lastly, I humbly ask that we all be
missionary-disciples, striving to serve one another and
our community after the example of Jesus Christ our
Lord who came not to be served but to serve.
There would be opportunities created throughout the year
for us to engage all the above, I pray that you could use
them to have a fulfilling faith experience at Sacred Heart
Parish. I humbly ask you to try and check our Monthly
Event Calendar and do take active par t in our
programs as possible. Please pray for Fr. Dave and me as
we shall do same for you. We love you all, but God
loves you more.
Your servant in Christ,
Fr. Andrew.

Stress in Your Marriage? – Retrouvaille is a program
for married couples that feel bored, disillusioned,
frustrated, or angry in their marriage. Some experience
coldness. Others experience conflict in their
relationship. Most don’t know how to change the
situation or even communicate with their spouse about
it. Retrouvaille can help. For confidential information
about, or to register for the program beginning with a
weekend March 24, 2017, please call 905-664-5212
Marriage Tip
The gift of self promised during our wedding vows is
essential to put into action during moments of struggle.
When a spouse’s actions cause anger, sadness or
disappointment, we must try to look past the action or
words and see the person you love. Instead of
responding negatively in the moment, try to understand
what has caused this situation and propose a resolution
that will work for both of you and for your relationship.
In our most vulnerable moments we have a chance to
show our greatest love by responding as we should, as
opposed to how we feel.
Parenting Tip
Spending quality time together will pay great dividends
to all involved, especially our children. Time together
allows for positive interaction, the ability to learn about
each other and the chance to build strong bonds and
memories. A great starting point is a shared family meal,
but reading together, playing a board game, or working
on a puzzle together are but a few of the many ways we
can build connections. The result will be higher self-
esteem for children, a greater cohesiveness in the family
unit and the desire for more time as a family. Try it, you
won’t regret it!
