INTRODUCING: Msgr. Stephen Doktorczyk
Having grown up in San Pedro, I moved to Orange County after finishing studies in Business Administration at Cal State Long
Beach. I worked for the Vons Supermarket chain for a number of years and in various locations before entering St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo in 2000 to commence studies for the priesthood. The following year I began theological studies in Rome at the North American College (the seminary in Rome for those from the United States, Canada and, more recently, Australia). In 2005 I was ordained (along with Fathers Michael and Joseph). I continued canon law studies in Rome for the following two years, and during those summers, I assisted at Holy Family Cathedral. In 2007 I returned to the diocese, being assigned as a parochial vicar at St. Joachim parish in Costa Mesa and serving in Canonical Services for the Diocese of Orange. In 2011, I began service to the Holy See, working as an official for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Vatican City. During this period I pursued and completed a doctoral degree in canon law and served part time as an adjunct spiritual director at the North American College.
Beginning in January 2017, I will be assigned as judicial vicar for the Diocese of Orange; its headquarters are in Garden Grove at Christ Cathedral. I will assist with Masses and confessions at St. Polycarp as I am able. I very much look forward to these new assignments.

ADULT CONFIRMATION CLASSES The sacrament of Confirmation perfects Baptism and completes the Sacraments of Initiation. Confirmation is the Sacrament of spiritual maturity, giving us the grace we need to participate in the public ministry of the Church.

Casino trips are Family Support Center's only fundraisers. These funds, and donations from the community, are our only source of income. FSC distributes food to those in need every Monday and Wednesday. We also help with financial aid, on a limited basis, for those who need emergency assistance. NOTRE DAME LITURGICAL CHOIR PERFORMS AT CHRIST CATHEDRAL – JANUARY 11 – In a rare California tour, the University of Notre Dame Liturgical Choir, considered one of the preeminent musical ensembles of the Roman Catholic Church in the U.S., will grace the Arboretum at Christ Cathedral on January 11. The choir, the principal choir at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of Notre Dame, was founded in 1973. It includes some 60 student-singers, a mix of graduate and undergraduate students, who are regarded as the premier collegiate Catholic choral group in the country. DIOCESAN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MASS All are invited to attend the Mass which celebrates the joy of Christian marriage, but this Mass is especially intended for those celebrating 15+ years in 2017. It will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Arboretum at Christ Cathedral. Bishop Vann will be the celebrant, and anniversary couples will have the opportunity to take a photo with him. Photos will be available the day of the event. Giáo xứ Thánh Polycarp may mắn có nhiều nền văn hóa và sự sống động của các chương trình mục vụ khác nhau của các cộng đồng giáo dân, điều này đem đến một làn gió thánh thiện chào đón mọi người, đặc biệt là giới trẻ, là những người mong muốn có một đời sống đạo sâu xa hơn với Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Như là những môn đệ của Chúa, chúng ta giúp cho những người nghèo đói, đây là cuộc hành trình đức tin dành cho các anh chị em chúng ta trên con đường sống đạo mới với niềm hy vọng và lòng can đảm, trong một công việc bác ái an toàn và vui vẻ.

Ban Thường Vụ tha thiết kêu gọi sự cộng tác của mọi thành phần Dân Chúa xin đến phụ giúp trong suốt thời gian thực hiện, nhất là các bạn trẻ, để công việc gói Bánh Chưng Tết đạt đươc kết quả tốt đẹp. 7-Giờ lần chuỗi Mân Côi kỷ niệm 100 năm Đức Mẹ hiện ra tại Fatima.- Để hòa nhập với Giáo hội hoàn vũ cùng tổ chức mừng kỳ niệm 100 năm Đức Mẹ hiện ra tại Fatima, nước Bồ Đào Nha năm 1917, Cộng đoàn sẽ tổ chức lần chuỗi Mân Côi vào các ngày 13 trong tháng, kể từ tháng 11 năm 2016 đến tháng 10 năm 2017. Giờ lần chuỗi được thực hiện tại Đài Đức Me vào lúc 7giờ tối, nếu là ngày thường; và sau Thánh lễ, nếu vào ngày Thứ Sáu, Thứ Bảy hoặc Chúa Nhật. Giờ lần chuỗi lần thứ ba được thực hiện vào sau Thánh lễ 6giờ30 tối Thứ Sáu ngày 13 tháng 1 năm 2017 do Đoàn Liên Minh Thánh Tâm của Cộng đoàn phụ trách. Chương trình được rút gọn trong 30 phút. Qua hai buổi lần chuỗi Mân Côi vừa qua, số người tham dự rất đông và sốt sắng. Ban Thường Vụ tha thiết kính mời toàn thể Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa xa gần, sắp xếp thời gian, cùng đến tham dự. 8-Thông báo về việc ghi ý lễ hằng tuần.- Từ khi Cha Chu Vinh Quang vể làm Chánh xứ, Cộng đoàn vẫn có thông lệ ghi ý lễ trước một tuần cho ngày rao ý lễ. Theo ý Cha, để cho giáo dân sửa soạn tâm hồn trước khi đến tham dự Thánh lễ, trong đó có những ý cầu nguyện hiệp với Cha Chù Tế và Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa, người xin lễ nên ghi trước ý lễ một tuần; ngoại trừ người xin lễ cần xin cầu nguyện cho người mới qua đời trong tuần. Hơn nữa, để sửa soạn cho một Thánh lễ được diễn ra một cách trang nghiêm, sốt sắng, mọi thành phần phục vụ trong Thánh lễ cần phải sửa soạn trong tinh thần sẵn sàng để Thánh lễ được diễn ra trong tinh thần trang trọng và đúng giờ. Thời gian gần đây, có nhiều người đến trước lễ xin lễ và yêu cầu được rao ý lễ ngay, gây trở ngại cho những người phục vụ trong Thánh lễ. Vậy từ nay, xin Cộng đoàn lưu ý: Việc xin lễ có thể gọi điện thoại trực tiếp đến người phụ trách qua số (714) 317-3589 mọi ngày trong tuần, trễ nhất là hai giờ trước giờ lễ. Bổng lễ xin đem đến người phụ trách tại bàn ghi lễ và nói rõ ý lễ đã ghi trước qua điện thoại. Hoặc nếu trực tiếp ghi tại bàn ghi ý lễ, xin đến trước giờ lễ 30 phút để ghi ý lễ. Mọi ý lễ nếu ghi sau giờ đó, sẽ được rao trong Thánh lễ tuần sau. Để tôn trọng mọi trật tự và các qui định của Cộng đoàn, xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sẵn sàng đáp lại lời kêu gọi này. Chân thành cảm tạ.

1-Giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng.- Xin Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa lưu ý: Giáo xứ có giờ chầu Thánh Thể thinh lặng từ 3giờ30 đến 5giờ vào mỗi chiều Thứ Bảy trong tuần. Cộng đoàn có mở cửa Nhà Tạm và chầu Thánh Thể lúc 3giờ chiều, cùng với giờ lần chuỗi Lòng Chúa Thương Xót. Sau đó lúc 6giờ chiều có chầu Thánh Thể và đền tạ Thánh Tâm Chúa, 6giờ30 Thánh lễ. Kính mời Cộng đoàn Dân Chúa sắp xếp thời gian tham dự. 5-Buổi sinh hoạt của Liên Nhóm Cursillo.- Liên Nhóm Cursillo của Cộng đoàn có buổi sinh hoạt hằng tháng vào lúc 2giờ30 chiều Chúa Nhật ngày 8 tháng 1 năm 2017 tại phòng họp thường lệ. Kính mời quí anh chị Cursillistas tham dự. 6-Công tác gói bánh chưng của Cộng đoàn dịp Tết Đinh Dậu.- Cộng đoàn sẽ bắt đầu thực hiện công tác gói bánh chưng dịp Tết Đinh Dậu Năm 2017 để gây quĩ sinh hoạt cho Cộng đoàn và yểm trợ tài chánh cho Giáo xứ. Công việc bắt đầu từ ngày 3 tháng 1 năm 1917 đến hết ngày 25 tháng 1 năm 1017 tại khu Hội trường Giáo xứ, mỗi ngày từ 9giờ sáng đền 6giờ chiều.
