er”, 1 John 4:7-10, John 15:9-17
Today we celebrate the Sixth Sunday of Easter, and today we celebrate our Mothers. Happy Mother’s Day to
all mothers and all those who fill in as mothers in helping children to become mature adults. The idea of hon-
oring mothers comes naturally enough because the very concept of motherhood is so honorable and mothers
themselves are so lovable: they represent life and love. Mothers are to be cherished, revered, honored, re-
spected and loved. All else at home should be arranged throughout the year and not just one day to honor
them. But to ensure that mothers have what they need and that they are honored.
Mary is our mother who deserves our honor. What a child learns from the mother, he or she remembers best
and keeps. Mothers, Mary is the best mother to turn to be the best mother that God has called you to be. If
you are an artist, you try to learn as much as possible from the best artist you see. If you are an athlete, you
find the best athlete as a role model, hoping even to exceed them. Mothers, you should look at the blessed
Virgin Mary and imitate her. She is our mother, for her Son’s sake and for our sake.
The readings for this Sunday remind us that God reveals himself to his friends as Love. “God is love and
whoever loves is his child”. The love of God impels us to live in love.
Loving God, as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children, so you watch over your Church. Bless
our mothers, that they may be strengthened as Christian Mothers. Let the example of their faith and love shine
forth. Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect. Grant
this through Christ our Lord, Amen.

Domingo, 9 de mayo de 2021 - VI Domingo de Pascua - Ciclo B Lectura: Hechos 10, 25-26. 34-35. 44-48, Salmo 97 “El Señor nos ha mostrado su amor y su lealtad. Aleluya”, 1 Juan 4, 7-10,
Juan 15, 9-17
leta como modelo a seguir, esperando incluso superarlos. Madres, debéis mirar a la Santísima Virgen María
e imitarla.
Bendice a nues-
