*Please note that there may be a change in a priest's scheduled Mass due to a hospital or sick call.

NOTE: Change in day the church will be closed this week. The church will be closed TUESDAY, Dec. 12th (not tomorrow, Monday Dec. 11th) The floors are getting waxed following the 8:30am mass. The church will re-open Wednesday, December 13th for 8:30 a.m. Mass. We ask that any donations of food normally placed in the vesti-bule be brought to the parish office where you can leave at the front door. The parish office is closed on Tuesday’s except for 9-10 a.m. and 3-4 p.m., but the front door will be checked for any items left throughout the day.

This is it! The week prior to SFC’s Annual Holi-day Food (and TOY!) Drive - December 16th and we need your help! Every little bit helps when it comes to feeding families. Hunger and the need for some normalcy at Christmas is what we are addressing and with your help as in years past, we will succeed!

The St. Frances Cabrini Men's Club, MCO and ICF - # 191 will be holding the annual SFC Christmas Food and Toy Drive this Saturday in the Hall.

This year the need is just as great if not more so we kindly ask for the following: Hams, hams and more hams! (Turkey’s too!) A delicious ham has become a staple of Christmas dinner! Food items: packaged goods, potatoes, cereal, macaroni, pas-ta and sauce, green beans. Canned items to include, soups, gravy, stuffing, vegetables, fruit, beans, onions, potatoes, canned tomatoes and all the good foods that go into making a full Christmas meal.

Collection boxes will be placed in the vestibule of the church. The boxes will be designated "Holiday Food Drive". Gently used clothing and SMALL household items may be brought to the parish office this week. Holiday Food and Clothing Drive

Every piece of warm or gently used clothing is needed and it adds up! Just because you don’t have a bag’s worth doesn't mean we won’t take it!

Donations of hams ands turkeys can be brought to the Parish Hall on the day of the food-drive, December 16th (8am is the start time that the bags are loaded up) We need them! BUT, if you are not able to be bring to the Hall the morning of the food drive, we will gladly accept items in need refrigeration in the parish center from Wed. 12.13 to Fri. 12.15. Monetary dona-tions are needed and appreciated and accepted anytime!

Advent: A Time to Remember “…...A terrible injustice has been done because we no longer speak of or look at the human body in these terms. Often, we are tempted to use other human beings instead of seeing them as an image of God. It doesn’t take much more than a glance at the news to see that our world is fallen and broken and at times there doesn’t seem to be much hope. We would rather claim ourselves as a fallen humanity because it is easier to admit we are fallen than it is to rise above. But hope was born into the world over 2,000 years ago not only to redeem us and our fallen world, but to remind us of who we are as sons and daughters of God. Through the incarnation, we have a model of love. So, next time you are tempted to despair at all the evil and brokenness in the world, remember that little baby who was born into the poverty of humanity. That little child who reached right into our brokenness and not only healed us to remind us of how we were created, but allowed us to go beyond our original state into the perfection of our final state in heav-en, perfectly happy with God in a wedding feast that will never end. As we prepare for this anniversary of Christmas, let’s re-member to thank God for how He originally created us, do penance for the many sins we have committed that have made us fall, and finally rest in His mercy and love as we await the joyful hope of heaven, all thanks to that little child born in a manger. Happy Advent and from all of us here at Diocesan, God Bless!”

“The heritage of our hearts is deeper than the sinfulness inherited” (Theology of the Body, 46).

This Advent, stop the clock.

An Advent Prayer Its Time to Slow down Simplify, Sanctify.

Lord, help me to live simply, Slow down, and sanctify my life. To give my life and all I am into Your hands. Help me to unclutter my closet, for I have too much stuff that takes me away from

Your presence. Help me to unclutter my calendar, for I am often too busy to focus my attention on You. Help me to unclutter my

mind, unguided thoughts that distract me from You and what You are asking of me.
