Na świecie będziecie cierpieć ucisk, lecz nabierzcie odwagi. Jam zwyciężył świat” (J 16,33) Wkraczamy w tydzień naszej zidentyfikowanej zadumy nad miłością Boga do nas. Objawia się Ona w dziele zbawienia. Męka, śmierć i Zmartwychwstanie Chrystusa doprowadziły nas do zbawienia i otwarcia bram Nieba. Tajemnica niewierności i zdrady Judasza wskazuje na słabość ludzkiej natury, która pozwala się oszukać grzechowi, „swoim” oczekiwaniom, które nie są przedyskutowane z Bogiem, które nie są przemodlone. Tragizm Judasza polega na skoncentrowaniu się na sobie, na swojej winie, na zamknięciu na Boże przebaczenie, którego przecież wcześniej był świadkiem. Ta sytuacja jest lekcją dla nas, którzy chcemy przemadlać nasze życie i to, co nas spotyka, proszac o umocnienie, jak Pan Jezus w Ogrójcu. Przyjrzyjmy się tej pięknej lekcji. „Potem wyszedł i udał się, według zwyczaju, na Górę Oliwną: towarzyszyli Mu także uczniowie. Gdy przyszedł na miejsce, rzekł do nich: «Módlcie się, abyście nie ulegli pokusie». A sam oddalił się od nich na odległość jakby rzutu kamieniem, upadł na kolana i modlił się tymi słowami: «Ojcze, jeśli chcesz, zabierz ode Mnie ten kielich! Jednak nie moja wola, lecz Twoja niech się stanie!» Wtedy ukazał Mu się anioł z nieba i umacniał Go. Pogrążony w udręce jeszcze usilniej się modlił, a Jego pot był jak gęste krople krwi, sączące się na ziemię. Gdy wstał od modlitwy i przyszedł do uczniów, zastał ich śpiących ze smutku. Rzekł do nich: «Czemu śpicie? Wstańcie i módlcie się, abyście nie ulegli pokusie». (Łk 22, 39-46) Wierzymy, że wola Boga jest słuszna, bo przecież nie może się On mylić. Przyjąć ją możemy, przekonać się do niej, dzięki modlitwie, która nas chroni od pokus. Widzimy, że Pan Jezus na modlitwie nie przeżywał sielanki, lecz strach i udręka wytoczyły z jego ciała krwawy pot. Nie był jednak sam, bo oto anioł – posłany od Ojca pocieszał Go, wyjaśniał, umacniał. Tej postawy chcemy się uczyć, pamiętając o bliskości i miłości Boga, którą udowodnił na krzyżu i jak podpowiadają już czytania wielkanocne, nasze spojrzenie powinno byc skierowane ku górze, gdzie spełnia się nadzieja naszego zbawienia.

We are entering a week of our identified reflection on God's love for us. The Love reveals herself in the work of salvation. The Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ led us to salvation and opening the gate of Heaven. The mystery of Judas' infidelity and betrayal points to the weakness of the human nature that allows to be cheated by sins. Judas’ expectations were not discussed with God. His tragedy consists in focusing on himself, his guilt, rejecting Christ’s forgiveness, however he was a witness how many times the Savior gave a gift of forgiveness to many. Lord Jesus in the Garden gave us a lesson how to receive God’s will.. "Then he went out and went, according to custom, to the Mount of Olives: his disciples also accompanied him. When he came to the place, he said to them: "Pray that you will not give in to temptation." And he walked away from them at a distance like a stone's throw, fell to his knees and prayed with these words: "Father, if you wish, take this cup from Me! Let not my will be done, but yours!” Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. He was in agony, praying even more earnestly, and his sweat was like thick drops of blood seeping on the ground. When he got up and came to the disciples, he found them sleeping in sadness. He said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Stand up and pray that you will not give in to temptation. " (Lk 22, 39-46) We believe that God's will is right, because he cannot be wrong. We can receive it; we can be convinced of it thanks to the prayer that protects us from temptation. We see that the Lord Jesus struggled with fear and anguish and even bloody sweat came out of His Body. He was not alone, because an angel - sent from the Father comforted him, embraced him, strengthened him.
We want to learn this attitude, remembering the closeness and God's love which was proved on the cross and how they suggest reading Easter, our gaze should be directed upwards when the hope of our salvation is fulfilled

The summit of the Liturgical Year is The Sacred Paschal Triduum - Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. These most holy days celebrate the Paschal Mystery, first, the passion, suffering, and death of the Lord Jesus, followed by His resurrection, the triumph of the holy cross, and Christ’s decisive victory over sin and death. How can death bring life? How does pain lead to joy? Part of the answer is the mystery and will remain mystery. The passion, death, and resurrection of the Lord is the Paschal Mystery.
Triduum Paschalne jest najważniejszym wydarzeniem roku liturgicznego w Kościele katolickim. Jest ono urzeczywistnieniem w mistyczny sposób męki, śmierci i zmartwychwstania Jezusa Chrystusa.Biorąc pełny udział w nabożeństwach Tridum Paschalnego, przeżywamy dawne, historyczne wydarzenia związane z męką i śmiercią Chrystusa a także staramy się wynagrodzić Jemu obecne cierpienia związane z naszymi grzechami i grzechami całego świata. Pomimo licznych obowiązków musimy pamiętać co jest istotą tych Wielkich Świąt i wybrać najpierw to co najważniejsze, aby w pełni duchowej radości przeżywać zmartwychwstanie Jezusa Chrystusa.

The Divine Mercy Novena begins on Good Friday and goes
until Divine Mercy Saturday
The Novena to Divine Mercy is truly unique because it is the first novena in the history of the Catholic Church which was created by Jesus. St. Faustina records in her Diary that Jesus instructed her to write down the Novena which she would begin on Good Friday, 1937. "I desire that during these nine days you bring souls to the fountain of My mercy, that they may draw there from strength and refreshment and whatever grace they need in the hardships of life, and especially at the hour of death. On each day, you will bring to My Heart a different group of souls, and you will immerse them in this ocean of My mercy, and I will bring all these souls into the house of My Father. You will do this in this life and in the next. I will deny nothing to any soul whom you will bring to the fount of My mercy. On each day you will beg My Father, on the strength of My bitter Passion, for graces for these souls." St. Faustina responded: “Jesus, I do not know how to make this novena or which souls to bring first into Your Most Compassionate Heart. Jesus replied that He would tell me which souls to bring each day into His Heart.” (1209) He gave St. Faustina an intention to pray for on each day of the Novena.
The Novena is structured in three parts. The first part is the recorded words of Jesus informing St. Faustina which souls to bring to the Fountain of His Mercy. It is interesting that Jesus named nine different groups of souls. The second part of the Novena is the prayer petition of St. Faustina directed to Jesus requesting graces and mercy for the specific group of souls. Then she begins the third part of the novena, which is her earnest petition to God the Father for mercy for the souls.
During the Solemn Novena leading to Divine Mercy Sunday, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy should be offered each day for the day's intentions.

Przygotuj się do Święta Miłosierdzia. W Wielki Piątek rozpoczyna się nowenna przed świętem Miłosierdzia Bożego. Pan Jezus prosił św. Faustynę, aby przez tę nowennę, która polega na odmawianiu przez dziewięć dni, przygotować się do uroczystości, w której czcimy Boga w tajemnicy Jego niezgłębionego miłosierdzia. „Pragnę – powiedział Pan Jezus do Siostry Faustyny – abyś przez te dziewięć dni sprowadzała dusze do zdroju Mojego miłosierdzia, by zaczerpnęły siły i ochłody, i wszelkiej łaski, jakiej potrzebują na trudy życia, a szczególnie godzinie śmierci. W każdym dniu przyprowadzisz do Serca Mego odmienną grupę dusz i zanurzysz je w tym morzu miłosierdzia Mojego. A Ja te wszystkie dusze wprowadzę w dom Ojca Mojego (…). W każdym dniu prosić będziesz Ojca Mojego przez gorzką mękę Moją o łaski dla tych dusz. Odpowiedziałam: Jezu, nie wiem, jak tę nowennę odprawiać i jakie dusze wpierw wprowadzić w najlitościwsze Serce Twoje. - I odpowiedział mi Jezus, że powie mi na każdy dzień, jakie mam dusze wprowadzić w Serce Jego. (1209) Nowennę tę kazał Pan Jezus siostrze Faustynie zapisać w sierpniu 1937 roku, polecając odprawianie jej przed Świętem Miłosierdzia, począwszy od Wielkiego Piątku. Nowenna ta ma wybitnie nadprzyrodzony charakter, ponieważ została podyktowana św. Faustynie przez samego Jezusa Chrystusa. Święta Faustyna do słów Jezusa dodaje własne rozważania, co tworzy całość nowenny. Jest ona przygotowaniem do przyjęcia łask w Święto Bożego Miłosierdzia (odpuszczenia win i kar za grzechy). Bóg chce dawać więcej, niż zdołamy pomyśleć. Jezus uczył Siostrę Faustynę bezgranicznej ufności w Jego miłosierdzie. Uczył ją, że im więcej zaufa, tym więcej otrzyma.
Jeśli ta nowenna jest odmawiana przed świętem Miłosierdzia, to należy w każdym dniu dołączyć Koronkę
do Miłosierdzia Bożego.
Dla tych, którzy pragną rozpocząć w Wielki Piątek Nowennę do Bożego Miłosierdzia, przygotowane są

PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD’S
PASSION
is the final Sunday of Lent, the beginning of Holy Week, and commemorates the triumphant arrival of Christ in Jerusalem, days before He was crucified. In the Gospels, Jesus entered Jerusalem riding a young donkey, and to the lavish praise of the townspeople who threw clothes, or possibly palms or small branches, in front of Him as a sign of homage. This was a customary practice for people of great respect. Palm branches are a widely recognized symbol of peace and victory, hence their preferred use on Palm Sunday. The use of a donkey instead of a horse is highly symbolic; it represents the humble arrival of someone in peace, as opposed to arriving on a steed in war. During Palm Sunday Mass, palms are distributed to parishioners who carry them in a ritual procession into church. The palms are blessed and many people will fashion them into small crosses or other items of personal devotion. These may be returned to the church, or kept for the year. Because the palms are blessed, they may not be discarded as trash. Instead, they are appropriately gathered at the church and incinerated to create the ashes that will be used in the follow year's Ash Wednesday observance. The colors of the Mass on Palm Sunday are red and white, symbolizing the redemption in blood that Christ paid for the world.

Liturgia Kościoła wspomina tego dnia uroczysty wjazd Pana Jezusa do Jerozolimy, o którym mówią wszyscy czterej Ewangeliści. Uroczyste Msze św. rozpoczynają się od obrzędu poświęcenia palm i procesji do kościoła. Zwyczaj święcenia palm pojawił się ok. VII w. na
terenach dzisiejszej Francji. Z kolei procesja wzięła swój początek z Ziemi Świętej. To właśnie Kościół w Jerozolimie starał się bardzo dokładnie powtarzać wydarzenia z życia Pana Jezusa. W IV w. istniała już procesja z Betanii do Jerozolimy. W Niedzielę Palmową patriarcha otoczony tłumem ludzi wsiadał na osiołka i wjeżdżał na nim do Świętego Miasta, zaś zgromadzeni wierni, witając go z radością, ścielili przed nim swoje płaszcze i palmy. Następnie wszyscy udawali się do bazyliki Zmartwychwstania (Anastasis), gdzie sprawowano uroczystą liturgię. Procesja ta rozpowszechniła się w całym Kościele. W Rzymie szósta niedziela Przygotowania Paschalnego początkowo była obchodzona wyłącznie jako Niedziela Męki Pańskiej, podczas której uroczyście śpiewano Pasję. Dopiero w IX w. do liturgii rzymskiej wszedł jerozolimski zwyczaj urządzenia procesji upamiętniającej wjazd Pana Jezusa do Jeruzalem. Z czasem jednak obie te tradycje połączyły się, dając liturgii Niedzieli Palmowej podwójny charakter (wjazd i pasja). Jednak w różnych Kościołach lokalnych procesje te przybierały rozmaite formy, np. biskup szedł pieszo lub jechał na oślęciu, niesiono ozdobiony palmami krzyż, księgę Ewangelii, a nawet i Najświętszy Sakrament.

WIELKI TYDZIEŃ I WIELKANOC - 2020 Tegoroczny Wielki Tydzień i Wielkanoc będziemy przeżywać w warunkach wyjątkowych, wynikających z ogłoszonego przez władze państwowe stanu epidemii. Na ten szczególny okres Kongregacja ds. Kultu Bożego i Dyscypliny Sakramentów ogłosiła wytyczne dotyczące celebracji liturgii Triduum Paschalnego w krajach dotkniętych epidemią. Na ich podstawie dokonano adaptacji do warunków w danym kraju, polecając biskupom diecezji wydanie szczegółowych rozporządzeń. Msze Św. i nabożeństwa będą odbywać się bez udziału wiernych, za wyjątkiem asysty liturgicznej. Wierni proszeni są, aby korzystać z transmisji w telewizji, radiu lub internecie.
HOLY TRIDUUM & EASTER - 2020
Our Holy Week and Easter celebrations will be quite different this year but the underlying mysteries of our faith in the Lord’s passion, death and resurrection have not changed. They continue to be the source and support of our faith and we should celebrate them this year, even though in a different way. Follow Masses and other liturgical celebrations reverently on-line or via televised broadcast. Read the liturgical readings in your missals, other publications or on the internet. Pray your devotions privately or as families, especially the rosary, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Stations of the Cross, and other beloved traditional devotions. Make a spiritual communion at home or wherever you may be. Keep your faith and prayer life alive until things in our public practice of the faith is restored. Be caring and attentive to others. Reach out in the best ways possible. Be grateful to/for those who are working to address COVID-19 in so many different venues. Be generous. Keep the needs of others in mind.

Bishop Mark O’Connell celebrated Holy Mass at our Shrine on January 5, 2020. He dedicated and blessed the new reredos and the sanctuary of the upper church. He blessed the new images of Divine Mercy Jesus, Saint John Paul II and Saint Faustina as well as the sculpture of Golgotha. He also blessed the new reliquaries which sit on the altar and contain the precious relics of Saint John Paul II, Sister Faustina and others. It is our hope that these additions to the Shrine will inspire all who kneel in prayer and attain God’s grace, here on earth and their everlasting life. This Shrine has been blessed by the financial support from so many donors.
Our next project is to add an elevator/ lift which will make our upper church, where the main altar with all the relics is accessible to everyone. We have received a generous donation of $100,000.00. A generous benefactor has offered to match the funds we raise over $30,000.00. The second collection at Sunday Masses is to help raise funds for this project.
This project also involves the design and remodeling of the restrooms. The restrooms are not compliant with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). We want to better serve those with mobility challenges. Updating the restrooms is strongly encouraged. In addition, the appearance of current restrooms is not very welcoming to guests. The remodeled bathrooms will be legally-compliant and with much better accessibility to all. The appearance of the new restrooms will be updated, and the plumbing and fixtures upgraded. This means that there will be additional cost which will be announced soon.
Also, there will be future projects, including a marble altar and restoring the floor in the church.
We are also in the process of looking to reopen our school building. This is a daunting task as the building needs major renovations. There are many men in the shrine community who have offered their time and skills to complete these projects. We would only have to pay for materials.
I am grateful to those who, through spiritual and physical help, engage in the development of our church and school buildings. We wish to have the shrine attract many people who are looking to find spiritual fulfillment and become disciples sharing the word of Christ with others.
