Our Homebound Parishioners are very important to us and we want to make sure their spiritual needs are being met. If you or a friend or family member are homebound and unable to attend Mass, we would like to bring the Eucharist to you in your home. Please call Diana Lipfird, the Home-bound Parishioner Coordinator, at 532-9491 or e-mail her at [email protected]. We will set up a time and day for the Extraordinary Minister to visit that best fits your schedule. When Jesus was transfigured, the apostles saw Him as
they had never seen Him before and they were fright-
ened. When we experience change in a person we love,
we frequently resist it because it often means we must
change our way of relating to that person. Take a closer
look at Jesus and your relationships. What changes do
you need to make this Lent that will reflect the glory of
God? Ask for grace to change.

Bible Study & Faith Sharing
Bible Study will meet on Tuesday from 11:00am - 12:00pm in
the Chapel, we will begin our reflection on the Lenten read-
ings. If you would like to join us for the six weeks of Lent, we
do have a small number of extra books available. Please call
Barbara through the parish office and leave a message on her
voice mail. Bring your Bible and join us to see if the Lord
might have a message for you.
Quiet Prayer
Quiet prayer will meet on Tuesday at 12:30pm in the chapel
for Quiet Prayer. This will be followed by reading and reflec-
tion on the book Everything Belongs by Richard Rohr. Why
not try this type of prayer as a way to deepen your Lenten ex-
perience.
Prayer Shawl
Prayer Shawl will meet this afternoon in the chapel from
3:00pm - 4:00pm. If you would like to find a way to use the
gift of your hands to serve the community, why not stop in
and see if this is for you.

COMMUNITY OF FAITH
We are two weeks into the season of Lent. The new mass setting is going well, and I am pleased with how quickly everyone joined in!
Hopefully, you have had time to participate in some of St. Mary’s different faith-based activities. And if you haven’t gone to the Fish
Fry yet, I promise you that it is completely worth it and the food is delicious and the company even better! The most important part of
our faith is celebrating and practicing together as a community. Whether you are going to the men’s or women’s groups, or the quiet
prayer on Tuesdays, or singing in the choir, or anything of the sort, it’s so important to experience Lent together.
In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus reveals his transfiguration to Peter, James, and John. The prelude sang by the traditional choir was writ-
ten by Patricia Warren, a composer who posted her piece online for free use! I just recently presented a workshop to the NPM Cleveland
Chapter about how to find free sacred music on the internet. In the end, I was able to find this piece through those who write simply for
the joy of writing sacred music. It’s all about using the community you have and communicating with others to make our faith better!
Choir Rehearsal Schedules: Traditional Choir meets to rehearse on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm. Youth Choir also rehearses on
Tuesdays at 5.30pm. If you are interested in participating in any of these choirs, cantoring, or playing an instrument during mass,

Ministry Schedules
Communion Distribution:
During the winter months of January, February and
March, Communion will be distributed under one spe-
cies, that of the Body of Christ. We will suspend the
distribution of the Blood of Christ as a precaution during
the flu season. Thank you for your understanding.
The gifts of Bread and Wine offered at Sunday Mass
become the very Body and Blood of Christ. It is a joy to
present these gifts to the Priest as a sign and symbol of
the gifts the community offers – that of their mind, heart
and spirit.
We would like to ENCOURAGE the FAMILY of those
for whom the Mass is being offered to PRESENT the
gifts, after the collection has been taken up.
PLEASE, make yourself KNOWN to the Usher well be-
fore Mass begins, so that due honor of your loved ones
can be made. THANK YOU.

Taizé Prayer is an hour-long meditative candle-lit service that
centers around music, prayer, and silence, to quiet the mind,
open the heart and feed the soul.
It is a time of quiet and solitude in the presence of God. A few
words sung over and over again reinforce the meditative quality
of prayer. They express a basic reality of faith that can be grasped
quickly by the heart and intellect, gradually penetrating the whole
being.
We hope you will take one hour out of your busy schedule dur-
ing this holy season of Lent, to experience the calm and peace
that comes from a Taizé prayer service.

Educating the Mind, Nurturing the Soul

Re-Registration forms for the 2018-2019 school year were
sent home a few weeks ago. You will also find these forms on
our school website. Please complete the forms and return
them with the necessary fees to the school office by February
28th. It is very important we receive this information in a
timely manner as we prepare for Kindergarten Screening on
March 7th & 8th, and begin to place classroom supply orders.
Our Preschool teachers would like to send a huge
“THANK YOU” to the preschool families and friends who
helped raise over $1,000.00 for the Ronald McDonald House
during the Preschool Art Show and concert held during Catho-
lic Schools Week. Not only were Mrs. Lake and Mrs. Sam so
excited with your generosity, but the Ronald McDonald House
team was extremely touched as well. These funds will go a
long way to help those families that are struggling with life
threatening illnesses.
Recently Mr. Hickey and Miss Kovacs led many of our
young musicians in a Twinkle Twinkle Concert. Mr. Hickey
and Miss Kovacs would like to commend these musicians for
their hard work and determination. Everyone in attendance
was amazed at how well the students performed! A special
“thank you” also to Mrs. MaryAlice Beck-Uhlir for her help in
coordinating the events of this music filled evening for the
