Wehadto find these otherpeopleso they could find somewhereelse to take their stuff. W ehadto get ridofa lot ofpaperwork an d ol d furniture thatnoonewanted to buyorevenCake away.W e have been in this ne wplace for almost threemonthsnowbut stiU a lot ofsortingout to do. Moving is goodbecause you can see a lot ofjunk you really don't need.Once I read in an a r ti c le c ha tif you have something putaway for a year, then youreally don't need that anymore. We ran out ofth e room to f ind o ut w h at wa shappening. I passed byKalinka s room (they were nothome) andIsawthecatstaringat a far comer of th e roomSo I stopped to see what shewas looking at. There wereflames in the comer very closeto the bed. Luiz had gone outof th e house to see if it ha dbeen something outside. So Icalled him back in to put outth e fire. W e ha d to thinl< fast.W e could no t t hro w w ate rbecause th e fire was on electrical wires an d there ha d beena short-circuit. Luiz pushed thebed away from the fire andstomped on the fire. I wasafiraid because of th e wires an ddidn'.t know what to do. ButLuiz managed to put the fireout. How Ipraise theLord thatthe rest of the family wasn there, because theywould havebeen inthatroom. How 1praisethe Lord that although theflames were only inches awayfrom the sheets and the bed, itdidn t catch on fire

I was in the hallway when Iheard a t er ri bl e crash as if th ehouse was falling down.Seconds before I thought thewater tank on top of thehouse had fallen in the house,causing all those noises.When I got to the placewhere I was going to in afew minutes I sa w what hadhappened A big heavyw o o d e n c a b i n e t tha t h a dbeen on that wall, had crashed down to th e floor breaking a faucet inside the walLThus what we sawwas the bigcabinet almost upside downwith water gushing all over theplace and the uniforms underiall thi s. Then Luiz an d I triedto close the hole in the wall.While I stopped the waterwith my thumb, Luiz keptrunning back and forth trying to find something to stopup the hole. It was a nightmare. But Luiz managed tofind something. When wefinished we w er e s oake d to th ebone and wa d in g inwater. But the Lord protected mygrandchildren and I, becauseif it hadn't happened whenit happened one of us wouldhave been dead or very badlyinjured... Praise the Lordagain How good He is

Darel and a group from the US met in RecifeRented a van, (Driver was included), and enjoyed-Tour-guide abilities of Starla an d Kalinka. Recife wa sExperienced inwonderful people vision . THANKYOU to all who were praying for the group

Luiz and Starla's home is adjacent to the Carolinas with a wall aroundthe house & yard. It meets their needs, & is readily :findable . Norton Sentfunds for groceries to make food baskets, & the group helped shop, pack,and distribute about 20 baskets (2 full/heavy grocery bags.) Some weregiven in a worship service and some were deliveredby the group to homes,givinga goodview of some of the Carolinasarea & people.First picture,street in front of their home- Second - Shopping for food- Staria&Kalinka make the lists - multiply by number of needy families &shop at this huge Sam's Club like warehouse, this trip was over $500;00

iiauliiThework there needs a service center, & the delay thus far may havea reason: new possibilities appearing that weren t there earlier. PRAYER isrequested for th e site and for needed funds to sustain the workers.

In Brasilia L. David and Ruth were doing pretty well at the time. Therewere terrific visits, church attendance both am & pm, with Darel preachingat their pm services as President of BCM . Their regard for the Sanders issuper high, as is their appreciation for BCM's part in sending and sustainingthem. Son Daryl from S. Carolina was with them. His wife died recently,and he confided that This is part of my therapy. The Brasilia churchappears strong and wonderfully supportive of the Sanders.Shortly after our visit Ruth was taken ill and has been in the hospitalsince withpneumonia and some kidney infection. She is scheduled to returnhome as soon as a room can be fixed for her. She will need 24/7 care with

oxygen and nurses. L. David continues with treatment for renewed tumors.Mav we be faithful in our pravers for them: thev request nothing ofgreater urgencv and never have through all their vears

David & Darel went to Goiania for the world Convention July 25-28.David was honored in a convention service, and by persons and familiesgalore The final night there was a special offering because the outgo haddwarfed the income (not unique in Brazil ) The offering was stillinadequate, but an anonymous donor gave the balance needed in honor ofDavid and Ruth Sanders Praise the Lord

We also were able to visit a drug/alcohol rehab center, sponsored by amission group from Sao Paulo, and watch them make brooms from plasticsoda pop bottles.

We observed the brand new Kids Place that is ready to serve over 100kids daily, and lunched there in their dining hall. Nubia is Luiz neice, andis director. She shared the history ofKids Place including Starla's securingof the site via the Luxemburg Embassy, and events that made possible thedebt-free building.(Our group with Starla &Nubia) (Selvio-discipled by Luiz -Now preaching
