What a season so far here at “America’s Favor-

Also congratulations to Commissioner Gene

Valentino on his victory in the Celebrity Race to bene-fit United Cerebral Palsy. Over $2,200.00 was raised and many thanks to all who donated. More on page 3.

Escambia Commissioner Gene Valentino after winning the 8 lap annual Celebrity Race declared, “United Cerebral Palsy is the real winner.” And UCP did indeed win big. Over $2,200 raised. $1,250 from the fans at the speedway. Commissioner Wilson Robertson, who finished behind Valentino, made good his wager of a $500 donation to UCP if he lost to Valentino.

Valentino matched the amount. Lindsay Marie led several laps, but was involved in a crash on the last turn of the last lap. The field included the sheriffs from Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, David Morgan and Wendell Hall; broadcasters Jim Sanborn of WCOA, Kevin Peterson of Soft Rock 94; Re-ese Andrews from Cat Country, and Lindsey Marie of WXBM; plus the 2 commissioners.

Celeb Race for UCP

The return of a Demolition Derby was met with overwhelming fan approval 2 weeks ago. Ronnie Smith had the last car running and took home the $1,500 check. The runners up are shown below. So, would you like to see another Demo Derby in 2012? Would you like to drive in one? Let us know. Congratulations all 7 daring drivers.
