Dear parishioners and
friends:
With the celebration of
the patronal feasts we
begin our school and
evangelization course.
We begin a year in
which we will face many
challenges, in which the
Lord calls us to continue
to seek our distant
brothers and sisters and
those who have not yet returned after the
pandemic with our witness, our love and
our evangelizing efforts.
Today's Gospel tells us something very
important: it is not what goes into man
that makes him impure, but the evil that
comes out of the heart, that is what
makes him dirty, what makes him suffer
and makes his life sad and ugly. Evangeli-
zation is to free the heart of man from the
evil that is sin and fill it with the love of
God and his light. Let us not tire of sow-
ing this hope in the hearts of our brothers
and sisters.
Once again I would like to thank all our
volunteers for their dedication and devo-
tion throughout the year, but especially
during the patronal feasts. Many visitors
during this past weekend congratulated
me for the organization and for the num-
ber of volunteers who were serving with
joy. The Bishop also asked me to convey
his admiration and joy to see such a un-
ion among all the members of Mary,
Mother of Mercy. As I said on Saturday at
the crowning Mass of the Virgin Mary, you
are the true crown of Mary. Impossible to
mention all those who did their bit to help
Father John make this event a success.

Con la celebración de las fiestas
patronales iniciamos nuestro curso
escolar y de evangelización.
Comenzamos un curso en el que
enfrentaremos muchos retos, en el
que el Señor nos llama a continuar
buscando a nuestros hermanos
alejados y aquellos que aún no han
regresado tras la pandemia con
nuestro testimonio, nuestro amor y esfuer-
zos evangelizadores.
El evangelio de hoy nos dice algo muy im-
portante: No es lo que entra en el hombre
lo que lo hace impuro, sino el mal que sale
del corazón, eso es lo que lo ensucia, lo
que le hace sufrir y hace su vida triste y
fea. La evangelización es liberar el corazón
del hombre de ese mal que es el pecado y
llenarlo del amor de Dios y su luz. No nos
cansemos de sembrar esa esperanza en el
corazón de nuestros hermanos.
Quisiera de nuevo agradecer a todos nues-
tros voluntarios su entrega y dedicación
durante todo el año, pero especialmente
en las fiestas patronales. Muchos visitantes
durante este fin de semana pasado me fe-
licitaron por la organización y por la can-
tidad de voluntarios que estuvieron
sirviendo con alegría. También el Señor
Obispo me pidió que les transmitiera su
admiración y gozo por ver tal unión entre
todos los miembros de María, Madre de
Misericordia. Como ya dije el sábado en la
misa de coronación de la virgen, ustedes
son la verdadera corona de María. Imposi-
ble mencionar a todos los que pusieron su
granito de arena para ayudar al padre John
a que este evento fuera un éxito. Gracias a
todos.
New Catechetical Program Mary Mother of Mercy Parish First Communion and Confirmation
1.- The classes will be in small groups of 15 children to have the necessary distance between students. 2.- Classes will start on September 18th at Queen of the Universe
1st year communion 9:00 a.m. to 11:30a.m. 2nd year communion 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. 1st year of confirmation first day September 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 2nd year of confirmation 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Special class for first communion 12 years to 15 years old Friday’s 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. classes start on September 24th 2021
3.- Classes will start on September 19th at St. Adrian every Sunday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 noon for communion 1st and 2nd year and confirmation 1st and 2nd year 4.- All children must come with a mask and always wear it. If vaccination has been received, we need the card to make a copy and kept it in our records 5.- There will be a 15 minutes break. Parish will have food for sale. 6.- The cost of catechism per year is $130 for 1 child $220 for 2 and $310 for 3, including a book for the child 7.- Before you register, please note that the parent’s formation is mandatory. When you register, you agree to participate in the formation; otherwise, the child will not be register in our program. 8.- After 3 unjustified absences the child will be expelled from the program and no refund will be given.

2.- Las clases comenzarán el 18 de Septiembre en Reina del Universo 1er año de comunión de las 9:00 a las 11:30 de la mañana 2nd año de comunión de las 12:30 a las 2:30 de la tarde Primer día para 1er ano de confirmación será el 24 de septiembre de las 6:00 a las 8:00 de la tarde. Segundo año de confirmación será el sabado18 de Septiembre de las 3:00 a las 5:30 de la tarde
3.– Las clases comienza el 19 de Septiembre en San Adrián de las 8:45 a las 12:00 del medio día para comunión y confirmación de primero y segundo.
4.- Todos los niños deberán usar una mascarilla todo el tiempo mientras estén en clases. Si los niños ya recibieron la vacuna necesitaremos la tarjeta de la vacuna para sacar copia y mantenerla en nuestro archivo. 5.– Los niños tendrán un descanso de 15 minutos. La iglesia tendrá venta de comida. 6.– El costo del programa de la catequesis es de 130 por un niño/a 220 por dos 310 por tres niños esto incluye un libro por niño. 7.- Antes de registrar a su hij@, tome en consideración que las clases de formación para los padres son obligatorias . Cuando usted hace la registración usted se compromete a participar en esta formación; de otra manera el niño/a no puede ser registrado en nuestro programa. 8.- Después de 3 faltas injustificadas, el niño/a será excluido de nuestro programa y no se le dará ningún reembolso.

September Queen of the Universe School Receives Grant from Enchanted Backpack
Teachers and parent volunteers were delighted on August 12th as they helped unload two vans full of student supplies from Enchanted Backpack. Room 101 has become the temporary storage area for everything from notebooks, folders, and pencils, to puzzles, games and art supplies, as well as coats, gloves, shoes, and personal hygiene items! These supplies are being placed in all of the classrooms and will come in handy throughout the year when students’ supplies need replenishing. Plus, we can provide everything students need when families are experiencing economic hardship. Thank you Enchanted Backpack!
